Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Harder and Steenbeck designed the NEW ULTRA 2024 Airbrush from the ground up specifically for miniature painters. Let's put it to the test and find out if a sub €100 airbrush can make us all into better airbrush miniature painters! Airbrushing miniatures can be much easier than we all thought.
This is not a paid promotion. I bought this brush with my own money and you can check it out here:

People shouldn't underestimate how much trouble it can cause when you miss the hole. Especially if you are being a bit careless and putting it in too quickly or too hard. The tip might never be the same again.

I didn't know Lee Mack was a miniature painter, but thank you for this product endorsement. I've been using a Badger Patriot, but I only tend to use it for basic stuff. The fact it's only 100 euros really sold it to me.

Kudos to you sir you did it again. Making astute analysis with common sense.I too have airbrushed on and off for decades and still to this day honestly it’s a pain in many ways. It’s almost like it hinders you from achieving a simple thing - a nice paint job. With the adjusting, resetting, changing needles , tips this or that cleaning on and on. And I’ve used them all from cheap to ultra expensive- there still the same in most ways. But it’s just a tool and not the be- all of creativity. I hope people realize it’s your mind and hand that are the ultimate tool . You have made your comments very honestly. Why would anyone want to fight and struggle with a hobby? Do I need another airbrush ? No. But this one looks fun- and that’s a huge part of my hobby- having fun. I hope you keep having fun with your hobby.

I gotta say, the move to H&S has been a huge game changer for me. I don't hesitate to use it anymore when I sit down to paint. I wouldn't have pulled the trigger either since I already had an Iwata HP, but I took an airbrushing class at the Nova Open that used H&S brushes and was blown away by the difference.

This is very effective reviewing, once again quite a deep dive to give clear detail on specifically how this airbrush innovates to make airbrushing easier in very practical ways, but it really doesn't feel like a deep dive. Watching it felt more like a chat over a mug of tea and that is solid gold presentation of meaty content. Like the laser cutter it's another high spend item, so to get the point across well enough that more folks will be moved to buy one and thus improve a key part of their hobby experience takes this sort of considered vid quality and I forsee a lot more stuff showing up to be reviewed Great work, gold star

I have a H&S Evolution and at the beginning I was going crazy and thought that I will never use the airbrush. But with some time and practice I came to a point where a paint almost every model with the airbrush. I am reluctant to switch to a new airbrush as I got used to the Evolution....but the more I see this model in use, the more I am tempted to buy and try one.

If you’re already familiar with the evolution then this one should slide into your ecosystem with ease. But being honest, if you’re happy with the airbrush you have and can use it well, no new airbrush will make that much difference. 👍🏼 Always good to have a spare on hand though for when one needs a thorough cleaning.

Thanks for another great video. I like the thought they put into the engineering of their product, but my hands can’t take the top trigger for the amount of time I airbrush. I normally try to do a huge batch at a time, and the last time I used a top trigger, my index finger was number for a couple of days. I use the iwata hand trigger models and find they are much easier. All of your simplifications to how to think about airbrushing really help! I know you were just passing on tips, but I loved the fist and two finger tip.

Delighted that this airbrush is getting such good reviews. Saw the advertising spiel I while back and though oh lord another gimmick but ended up so impressed in what I was being shown that I took a chance preordered one. I wish this brush had been around when I first started. When they say you don’t need an expensive brush to start with they are right. This one is looking like a great entry price brush that will help teach you proper trigger technique. I broke the trigger on my 0.4 cheap Chinese brush which I use for the every day jobs & this is its replacement. Thanks for the informative review.

If you don’t have a way to regulate pressure on the airbrush I’d probably drop PSI to around 20-25. You’ll just need to be more precise about your paint thinning.

Hey there, really great video! If I can share with you one advice that helped me a lot stop ruining a lot of airbrushes is to always push out the needle in front for cleaning. The dried paint on the needle scratches the needle seal at the back every time slowly damaging it.

Yeah, I usually do but in the video I hadn’t used it yet. Also the new engineering on this thing moved the seals for beginners who pull back, so it’s not as much of an issue. They thought of everything!

Great review! Still waiting for mine to arrive and I'm super excited to enter the airbrush world with such an amazing beginner friendly tool. One thing I would have liked to see in the video is how to do the bubbleback method with that kind of nozzle. I'm a little afraid to block the airflow with just my hand, I wouldn't want to accidentally touch the needle tip and damage it, is there any clever thing you can use?

You can block the whole end with a pen top. However I don’t recommend blowback. I know loads of people do it but it pushes paint the wrong way in your airbrush. Giving rise to harder cleaning and more problems with internal seals down the line. That’s the bit creators never tell you. Because they can just get a new airbrush. Usually for free. 👍🏼

@@thestateofplay2023 I see thanks for the clarification! I guess for starters I'll just stick with the pulse method cleaning that also Warrick shows in the presentation video. Cheers!

After this review, I decided to prerder one but what do I need to connect it to my FD-186 compressor? Does it use the same connection as my cheap fengda and timbertech airbrushes?

I believe it should. The Ultra came with a quick connect already attached like you see in the video. But that just screws off the bottom. Carefully. But to be honest you’d be better buying a cheap quick connect for your existing hose. Amazon do them.👍🏼

Never had any luck with the mac valve none of my H&S brushes like it. All seem to suffer the stuck down trigger

Hmm, good question. I’m not a fan of cheap anything tbh as they often break quickly, don’t create enough pressure or are just inferior. Plus, you aren’t a beginner for very long so you’ll end up buying a new one meaning you’ll spend twice. My advice. Buy a good one and learn well. I found Sparmax to be a good shout. As long as it has a tank that refills while you’re spraying you should be good. It’ll look like two tanks on top of each other.
