An affordable everyday lens for your street camera

Фильм және анимация

Everyday street photography looks different to different people, between 35mm and 50mm lenses sits the 40mm focal length. On crop sensor Fujifilm and Sony we have the 27mm focal length, both from 7artisans and TTartisan... similar names, but VERY different lenses. This video also includes a comparison between the TTartisan 27mm f/2.8 and the 7artisans 27mm f/2.8.

The “everyday” lens on my a6300 is the Sigma Contemporary 30mm f1.4 which is amazing. It is just enough wider than a full-frame 50mm equivalent and the image quality is spot on.

the TTartisans does actually come with a small hood. Its a very small screw on type ring and helps slightly ive found with reducing flared coming in laterally.

I have the TTA and 7A next week. The 7A is optically really better - see the Dustin Abbott Review from yesterday! FYI, the 52mm all metal LH-N52 lens hood, cheap replacements, fit perfectly well the 7A 27/2.8 AF. 7A is optically being better, renders more interesting, being sharper than the TTA 27/2.8. The absolutely coin-like TTA lens hood is a bad joke. I've bought a metal square hood, which looks nice & fits the TTA lens on my Fujifilm quite good, for some 50 bucks extra.

God how has Sony not made this lens! After they launched the a6700 I had hope they would not neglect apsc. But literally every other brand has this lens, but Sony! This lens might make me single handedly switch systems.

Sony might have suddenly released a new camera and some new lenses last year, but it felt like they abandoned the system many years ago untill then.

I think they rely on both users choosing third party like sigma or just using their full frame lenses!

@@GeorgeHolden True but if they claim that apsc is their lighter and compact setup, they should have a 27mm, if you think about it 27mm on apsc this days is for people who are looking for a compact/pocketable setup or an every day carry. Their a7c with the 40mm FF is too big!

Have you tried the Samyang 24mm 2.8? It is almost permanently on on my a6000, whould be a 36ish mm equivalent on a crop sensor and you have the perk that it is a FF frame lens so I use it on my a7IV too.

It's not the aperture what changes, it's the DoF equality, compared to 36x24mm Sensor size (=small picture format, Kleinbildformart, 135, 35mm) what you simply say here. F2.8 stays F2.8, even onto small & tiny smartphone Sensors, but the DoF is not the same.
