I had Lapras with 1100 cp in a "Pokemon Appears" and i gave him razzberies, trew ultraballs and he escaped all 3 times, when i threw a pokeball at nice (without berries) i catched it without any difficulties...

the shiny odds in raids are 1 in 35, that means you have to challenge 35 of the same regi, hope for a shiny, and it'll run away, ruining your hopes and expectations
