Lyrics:
Lyrics:
For you, I was a flame
Love is a losing game
Five story fire as you came
Love is a losing game
One I wished I never played
Oh, what a mess we made
And now, the final frame
Love is a losing game
Played out by the band
Love is a losing hand
More than I could stand
Love is a losing hand
Self-professed, profound
'Til the chips were down
Know you're a gambling man
Love is a losing hand
Though I battle blind
Love is a fate resigned
Memories mar my mind
Love is a fate resigned
Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now, the final frame
Love is a losing game

For those who weren't in the UK when Amy was at her peak, both musically and recreationally, her death was particularly sad. She was easy meat for tabloids, paparazzi and slimeball gossip columnists. Day in, day out there were cruel pictures and words put out about her falling out of a club in the early hours. Her love for Blake was doomed to tragedy, the guy was clearly an arsehole but she loved him so much. I remember an episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks where Simon Amstell quipped that she should have said 'Yes yes yes' to rehab, such was the open season on Amy. Such a sad end for such a beautiful talent. RIP Amy x

Amy did go to rehab in 2009, her doctor warned her about what more alcohol could do to her body (considering it was already in not the best state due to the drug consume and eating disorders she had in the previous years) and she told her doctor that she did not want to die. she got a lot better after rehab, gained weight again and all, but she sadly relapsed in 2011. may she rest in peace, deserved much better.

You can feel emotion in her voice that we can relate to in our everyday lives i think. She is magnificent, i was living in Australia when she hit it big, but now i am back home in the UK, i am listening to her stuff, it's not only brilliant but also heart-breaking also. Everything is addictive about her, even listening to her, i think it's called honesty.

I finally gave in, and I'm surprised that I do not regret it. I LOVE that she always performs different renditions of the same song. It's one of her MANY tells as a true artist and musician. Very easy to forget she was only 27 when she died and had to endure an industry machine im not sure she wanted to be a part of. She was always rebelling and I truly believe a lot of her choices were rebellion against a career she wanted but ultimately wanted to fight against the machine as it did NOT suit her mentality, mental health or whatever you want to call it. She was what she was, a truly hyper sensitive songwriter who channeled all that shit into songs. Remarkable and bravely lyrically honest songwriter. Each year her loss to us as an audience us feels greater. X

I am still crying after Amy, she was the only "real artist" in music industry. The rest are businessmen/women or very fake imitation of her. Amy had the same level of artistic personality as Van Gogh, Dostoyevski and Beethoven ,there was no other way for her to live a"normal" life.this is the bitter truth.

you can literally hear how her voice and pitch are always on point, and how fluid she is with the song and improvising new melodies and riffs as if pulling them from the chords effortlessly. it is what has has always drawn me to her…. a true musical genius

I really can’t stand it when people shit on the person that she loved so much, regardless of either of their faults. I believe Amy’s mother when she says that love was at the heart of it. Why can’t we just let her be??? The largest life in your life will likely produce some of the largest pain you’ve ever felt. I think that some people love extra hard and I do think that was her. I don’t know man. I understand where she’s coming from, I think. I’ve been with my partner for 27 years and it has been a fucking roller coaster with features similar to their relationship at times. We made it through. And he’s unfortunately terminally ill now. I won’t Love again. People could criticize our past all day long. It wouldn’t make a difference. Our love is pure. Yeah, shit got bad and it got destructive. It can be hard to make it through that. I can tell you that when the shit really hit the fan, we split for a few years and that’s when the worst stuff in my life happened to me. Not just the absence of him. A lot of really traumatic shit directly tied to my own addition and isolation with a S p/R3*dat,or. The truth is, if I wouldn’t have walked away at that time, none of that shit would’ve happened to me. It’s changed my life. But I am fucking stronger now. And now it’s time for me to just be there, no matter what. Everything dark from the past is completely in the past. We somehow made it all the way through. And I’m going to lose him soon. That is very hard to accept. But I know, exactly how lucky I am to have loved and be able to love him. It’s a gift. Pure love cannot be corrupted. Not by addiction or even death. She had her reasons, just like I have mine. We can focus on her “mistakes“ or we can just accept the fact that those things were just part of her life and allow her to rest with that love SHE cherished for whatever reason. That is my take maybe I’m wrong, but would that really be so bad??? It’s so easy to focus on the downfall. It’s much more enriching, in my opinion, to see the entire picture, warts and all.

@@kassandrakid9440 @Anie Fran thank you for sharing your perspective. I've just left a 4 year relationship that was tumultuous to say the least, and it's hard to come to terms with losing her despite all the awful things she did. It's helping me feel at peace with it, the way you put it, that love is pure and uncorrupt, that it's a gift to be able to even offer your love. It's a feeling unlike any other and it is an blessing to feel it. Thankyou. And enjoy every moment you can with your partner.

lalaland Maybe, god isn't real. Maybe He is. Nobody knows. But if he is real god took amy so young, because he saw, that we were destroying her. So he safed her. And if angels exist, Amy is one of the best angels.
