Amy Rose is definitely a very important character especially when she's able to redeem Gamma, Shadow, and Silver with her words. Plus she even stands up to Sonic when he's about to attack Gamma and I love that she's very protective of others as well.😁👍🏻

In the original Teen Titans show, there was an episode where Starfire time traveled to a time where the Titans disbanded after her disappearance because they didn't realize she was the emotional core of the group and I imagine it would play out similarly in the Sonic universe if Amy just suddenly disappeared. Also I didn't notice SA2 would be the last story in the series if it wasn't for Amy since Shadow would've succeeded in his mission of destroying the world otherwise.

I would argue even as Amy admires Sonic, she doesn’t blindly idolize him either. The fact she stands up for Gamma in Adventures is exactly proof of that. There are a lot of other instances where she calls out Sonic’s mistakes, too. The main one off the top of my head is when When Sonic attacks Eggman without even recognizing she was there in Riders. Regardless of how she’s written in that game, she has every right to be mad! That isn’t just because she knows she deserves better treatment than that as his friend (He could have caused her to get pretty beat up), but also because she knows one of Sonic’s flaws is that he focuses on the bigger picture and doesn’t often pay attention to smaller, but very essential details. Whenever she *does* call him out, it’s because she knows Sonic can be/is usually better than however he’s currently acting. With the flicky arc in Adventures- if Sonic wasn’t already focused on figuring out Chaos’s whole deal, he probably *would* have helped her find the flicky’s family- but he (understandably) thought the eldritch water-thing that was doing heavy damage wherever it went took more priority. Sonic is a hero who usually takes on the big/prime opposition, whereas Amy is a hero who helps out others in smaller, but just as important ways that connect together to a larger situation. All of this being said, wonderful video/analysis!! Amy’s always been one of my absolute favorite Sonic characters, and I love whenever fans recognize and appreciate how much heart she brings to the series.

Yes, you hit on my take on Amy as well! People say that Amy has been turned into just a female Sonic but it feels like there's no nuance in that opinion. Sonic is a big-picture hero who stops the calamity and saves the day, and Amy is a small-picture hero who helps each individual personally. In that way, they act as a compliment and foil to each other - Sonic reminds Amy that without tackling the main issue, everything she does for everyone else is for nothing, and Amy reminds Sonic that the world he's trying to save is made up of individual people with their own lives, and it's no good to save the entire world but in doing so abandon its people to their misery. I particularly like how they specifically call each other out for this in Frontiers too!

Wow you made such a great point! Even in Sonic Frontiers he’s so focused on just saving Amy and Tails, him and Amy get into an argument because Amy is telling him he should be focused on saving EVERYONE that needs help. Had Amy not paid attention to the Koco and their stories, the group would’ve never understood their culture and even how to defeat the biggest villain in the game.

I feel as though people undermine Amy’s character “she’s just obsessive and weird” I think she just has a school girl crush but she’s still strong and tries her hardest to be independent in fact her crush on Sonic has done a LOT for a lot of people in the series for having so much compassion. She helped SHADOW FOR GODSAKE! The only one who actually saw him as a person and if it wasn’t for her as you said there would be NOTHING ! I feel like people don’t really acknowledge how much she has helped even in the smallest way turned into something big. If it wasn’t for her love and strongheadedness we would not have the majority of characters or timeline we have without her!

Amy doesn’t always fight to solve problems like the others, she uses her heart. Her love isn’t just for Sonic, but everyone. No one else in any of the forms of Sonic media can carry both the compassion and determination that Amy has. Someone sweet yet strong, passionate yet gentle. There is no one who can replace Amy Rose. 💖🌹 You do such a great job on these videos!

If Amy wasn't there, we would need Chris Thorndike to remind Shadow of his past in order for the rest of the series to continue. And that is a timeline I don't want to live in.

I just love how she's written tbh, like she isn't this Hollywood Disney Princess or Princess Peach in the Mario movie. She's girly and she's flawed, but she's determined, full of love and compassion for all. Yeah, she was always written with puppy love for Sonic, massive crush and all. But she is, who she is. Amy grows, because of her love for Sonic, she learns from him to grow and pass what Sonic stands for onto others.

I like how Amy is unapologetically feminine. It feels like people just aren't allowed to portray female characters as "girly" these days... They always have to be "strong-independent women who need no man" or something, even though one of the strongest traits a woman (or anyone for that matter) can have is compassion and love.

I agree women are just as capable as a man is, while also being weaker in certain categories. Women CAN be strong without a man, it just depends on the woman, kinda like Sarah Conner or Lara Croft. But there are also women who need help from both men and women it just depends on the character and how they are presented.

I really hope Amy is in sonic movie 3. it would be so disappointing and such a missed opportunity to not have her in it. She's such a important character to the franchise (specially for shadow's arc) and since they want to keep building these movies to become more huge, Amy is just a guaranteed character to put in there. It doesn't look like she will be in it so far, but i pray that she does. In my opinion, she should have been introduced in 2 alongside tails and knuckles, but maybe that's just me

That's just how powerful Amy's Love is for anyone she comes around with oh and can you do cream next not just about who she is as a character but her being the youngest of the sonic cast and she does represent that childlike innocence that hasn't been tainted by the world and I know this is just my opinion but cream is pretty cute though I do love the sister dynamic between Amy and cream like sonic does with tails that is something I wish to see more from Amy and if cream will ever make another appearance again

Amy bonds with sonic over their love for adventure and speed, amy and tails have neen ESTABLISHED to be best friends with eachother, and amy and knuckles have the connection of being really powerful hitters with strong personalities, she has special connections with all of team sonic, and is probably the one to bring them all togsther sometimes.

Interesting point you make about Sonic and Amy's personalities complimenting each other. SEGA's creators have stated that Sonic is written with the heart of a boy, explaining his love for adventure and not wanting to be tied down. If we assume that Amy was written with the heart of a girl, everything clicks into place. Even Amy's love of tarot cards reflects this, with girls in Japan at the time being obsessed with magical things like this at the time. While Amy boldly wanting to marry Sonic can be seen as problematic, once we see her as an innocent-minded young girl, it becomes more benign, silly, and makes sense in context. I believe this sentiment, alongside her unapologetic love and compassion for others, is at her core, just as Sonic's "young boy" nature is at his core.

FINALLY, Someone who doesn't trash talk Amy

It is not a coincidence that Team Dark and Team Rose never fight each other or interact in Sonic Heroes… it’d be devastating for someone as loving and kind as Amy. Not only would Amy be fighting someone she once helped with their trauma that lost their memory and therefore wouldn’t remember her, but she’d also be fighting an E-Series robot that wasn’t her old friend Gamma… or at least mistaking Omega for him: Omega is a fucking death machine and is blind to the idea of compassion.

Never would have thought about it that way with Amy Rose, but yeah she deserves more love and respect

She can get over-the-top and just straight up plain cheesy at times but I do appreciate the 'love' aspect about Amy's character. It's not just love that's about her character though, it'd be more accurate to say she's the 'soul' of the Sonic cast, since it also covers her peppy attitude, compassion for everything around her, the determination to help out her friends and of course, her heart for Sonic. Also you made me appreciate Amy in Frontiers more now. She felt too laid back to me personally but now I am having second thoughts

I am in love with this title, because that's how I always seen her: the personification of love. I love Amy Rose with all my heart

I haven't seen the video yet, but I always love Amy no matter what. I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks, Amy is to Sonic what Minnie Mouse is to Mickey Mouse.

It feels Amy's Boom counterpart inspired her change in the main game series the most. I love that zooming out of her feelings for Sonic allows the other aspects of her character to shine more. This video literally explains why I love Amy (and shadamy surprisingly). Also, when you were talking about her color pallete, I started wondering what her eyes could mean. Some people see her eyes as blue, which is also a pure and calm color but soemtimes its associated with freedom. Others see green which can be seen as a mark to continue and not to give up. And the gold/yellow can represent joy, freedom, and peace.

Historically, I was never the biggest Amy fan, but I've come to appreciate her a lot more. I love how quick she is to show compassion towards Gamma and stand up for him. Gamma didn't get to live long, sadly, so I'm happy he could meet Amy.

Amy is the one who convinced E-102 Gamma to rebel against Eggman She the one who convinced Shadow to keep his promise to Maria and helped Sonic defeat the Bio Lizard She the one who stop Silver from killing Sonic She was one of the Rebel Leaders in Forces She understood the Koco and worried about Sonic corruption she should respect

There is a lot, and I mean A LOT, I love about Amy and when it comes to love, she's a whole believer of it. People constantly ignore or make up excuses as to how certain events can play out the same without Amy, but honestly? No, her small compassionate feats move greater mountains, it's her love that pushes people to be better and to see the light inside all the darkness. Nobody would be able to talk to Shadow the same way Amy did, she didn't just beg him to do the right thing, she made him understand that there is good in the world, see can see the good in the ugly (she's an optimist, obviously) and that's what makes Shadow remember. Amy's love isn't just romantical, her love extends to everything and everybody, she's the heart of the team as much as she can be a gremlin like them. I don't like how Frontiers treats Amy's love as something she exclusively saved for Sonic before the "big ass revelation that will finally set the character straight", not only is it vague as hell as to what is she going to do, but she's always spread her love in many ways, whether it be helping a family of Flickies or talking to the Ultimate Lifeform, she always did that. I think if Amy never encountered Sonic on Little Planet, her life would just be endless boredom for her, not knowing what's her missing piece and not figuring out what she can do about it. Consulting the cards doesn't work, and she might be a victim of the ARK just as everybody on Earth. Amy loves adventure as well, and through them is how she spreads her love, she doesn't avoid adventures, she chases them like she does to Sonic.

Amy has always been an important character of the Sonic series. People need to realize that without amy things wouldn't be the same. It's just like with Starfire from teen titans she's the glue that kept the titans together just like amy is with the main sonic cast

That's what I've been saying!!! I know so many people demote Amy down to being a stalker, or just a girl with a bad temper. But NO WAY, she's a multi leveled character, and one of the best in the series. I'm so glad that so many people are starting to notice who she is, and not just assuming who she is anymore. Amy is my second favorite character too! (Number one is Shadow) Ever since I have become a Sonic fan I've loved Amy I thought her love she showed to others and the way she was unapologetically herself was inspiring, Amy to me was a hero in her own right but others sadly don't see her that way and are not giving her any respect saying that she's a obsessive fan girl... So it made me really happy you made a video about her, showing how important she is and giving her the respect she deserves! Hoping this video reaches many other Sonic fans.

Ngl, Amy could have her own game alongside Cream. I’m kinda surprised it hasn’t happened yet. She’s the main girl character in the verse, and Cream is basically her Tails, so it just makes sense for her to have her own game. (Or for any of the characters not named Sonic or Shadow to get their own games. I demand we get a Silver game!)

I like how these characters are so important to the series and actually matter to it If Sonic didn't existed, Tails would still be really insecure and suffer with bullying, Knuckles would still be alone on his own, Eggman would probably have took over the world, Amy would've be kidnapped or wouldn't be relevant at all being just another victim under Eggman Empire like all the other civillians in Sonic's World, Shadow would've never have been released because Eggman wouldn't need to relase it as one of his ways to conquer the world, he already would have the world, Eggman would probably start conquering other planets, use the Wisps as slaves to get their energy, he would have the world on the palm of his hands and the characters would not evolve in their own because Sonic was the start to all their developments, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and the others If Tails didn't existed, Station Square would be gone, Sonic would be gone in SA2, the world would've all its life sucked out of it in Lost World with no one to stop it since Tails was the one who could manage the machine after Eggman revealed to be all according to his plan, Eggman would once again have the world on his hands and all Sonic would be able to do is fight him without actually being able to stop his machine If Knuckles didn't existed, the Master Emerald would be unguarded, Eggman would probably be able to conquer the world in Sonic 3 & Knuckles without Knuckles to help Sonic & Tails, Eggman would have the power of the Master Emerald in the Death Egg, Angel Island would just be an island floating in the ocean and once again the Eggman Empire would rule around the world just like the last 2 cases If Amy didn't exist, as you pointed out, the world would be gone in SA2, everything would cease to exist and humanity would be dead And the list goes on, without Silver the future in 200 years would probably be ruined by Eggman's actions, or Eggman Nega would be able to destroy everything on his own, without Blaze the Sol Dimension would probably be doomed thanks to Eggman, Eggman Nega or Captain Whiskers, without Shadow, Black Doom would take over the world, Sonic would be dead in 06, Solaris would probably take over the entire timeline, etc.

Amy’s inception in CD, I think at least, was to make Sonic look cooler. Probably to further distance him from Mario in the 90s. The Japanese art for CD always had Sonic looking unfazed by Amy’s presence and her unapologetically fawning over him. Amy of course evolved passed her initial stance in CD, mostly in Adventure, but it’s cool to see how Sonic Team took an essentially typical troupe and at least tried something with it.

Bless more people speaking up!!!! It warms my heart! ❤ Amy is important and the world is not the same in the series without her. Love is important! Another thing is in SA2, if Amy didn't come early to Prison Island, Sonic wouldn't have the lead on Shadow and thus wouldn't have left to find him, and thus they don't find out the islands blows up and they all die

*technically* when elise dies, the flames are immediately released. so on top of the ark colliding with earth, iblis would be unleashed as well. speaking of unleashed, the ark's collision with the planet would release light and dark gaia. since early awakening messes with chip's memory, he wouldn't be able to put the world back together, and would likely die/flee from the planet if possible. also, with sonic dead, erazor djinn would successfully break free from the grasps of the story and invade earth. (as best as he could. iblis or gaia would probably kill him lol.) i forget some of frontiers' story, but i think destroying the titans frees the end from cyberspace. so now there'd be a moon-sized demigod to worry about as well. i think iblis would take care of gaia no problem, but the end might not be too effective against iblis, and would probably just roam space, trying to find some other world to torment. if we include superstars in this too, i think the only repercussion of not having amy would be that trip never finds the courage to open herself up and make a friend, leaving her a loner. truly the worst possible thing to come from this. TL;DR AMY IS OUR SAVIOR AND WE LOVE HER

love is important for many reasons

There was something about the way Amy was portrayed in Frontiers that completely changed my view of her forever. It was only making her act more mature and restrained compared to previous games, but this somehow opened my mind to just how important she was in all the older games. I know Sega will never allow this to happen in the games, comics, movies, etc., but Amy's recent maturity and Sonic seemingly showing even more respect for her in response...it could suggest that SonAmy is not only plausible, it's inevitable.

Amy is my favourite Sonic character and I feel she is criminally underrated, both in the games and by the fans. Videos like this are needed to show why Amy herself is needed.

Seeing amy get this respect for her character, a deep dive into her heart and willingness to forgive and her passion and love is super important, you did a great job here! She is also one of my favorites for a lot of these same reasons. Growing up she was a very big inspiration and seeing the compassion she gives to even robots is amazing. It always felt super important that she was there to balance out Sonic’s ready to fight attitude. They really balance each other out a lot and it is very good!

First of all, pretty nice analysis of Amy as a character If she's part of the new movie, I hope her core aspect is, like you said, love. I truly believe they can experiment so much with her character, for example make her a lonely hedgehog just like movie Sonic was, but she had no one to care for her, no friends, so seeing Sonic for the first time would def make her really excited thus giving her a passion. Plus if she had that talk with Shadow, he'd prob be so confused as to why someone who wasnt lived by anyone in this universe cares so much about someone that everyone looks at and says "yep, you're an enemy". The thing I love about Amy is that she doesnt see people for what they did but as just people like her Second, really proud of not only your channel growing but also for finding it. Trully a hidden gem. I think that the editing is really important but tbh the content of these videos caught my attention more

I comment this on every pro-Amy Rose video I see: Amy Rose is my favorite fictional character of all time. She's the reason I got into the sonic franchise...and she's the reason I stayed. I love that she's this embodiment of love and wears her heart on her sleeve. She's passionate and she can see the good in others even when they don't (i.e. Gamma and Shadow). She's actually have been positive influence on me in how I show kindness and compassion towards others. I love that she's a character that's full of emotion and those emotions are on full display (she can be happy, sad, angry, lovestruck etc.) Something I always felt the other characters lacked, like they can never fully emote the way Amy does. Most characters in her archetype would usually be secretive towards the character they love, but I've always admired how Amy was just open and honest about her feelings and was just unapologetically herself. I don't know what other word I could use to describe it, but it felt very 'impactful' or 'inspirational'. Sonic may be the main character and the spirit of the franchise... but Amy was always the heart for me. She's a good female character in my opinion: She's feminine, she's strong ,she's flawed, but there's so many good traits to her that I wish the fanbase would realize. Sometimes it's hard to be a Amy Rose fan...not because of the character, but the writers. These damn writers don't know what to do with her/how to portray her. And that makes me upset...I want that energetic girl full of love back. I don't want those parts toned down, because imo, those traits really define Amy. (I'll probably edit this comment if I have more to say). But in conclusion: Amy Rose is a character I absolutely adore, and I will continue to stand by and show my love for. It's just always nice to see videos like these regarding the character, because I love finding and hearing about other who love her just as much! ❤️

I seriously hope she shows up in the movies at some point.

compassion isn't just one of the greatest traits that women exemplify , but also a trait that humanity as a whole needs to thrive. and being that the sonic cast is so diverse with each character arguably representing a unique virtue , amy fits in greatly as the symbol of love. if you think about it , amy is probably the more rational character since she was able to solve a lot of problems simply by talking it out , compared to team sonic who would (mostly) just fight evil. although sonic does show compassion in sonic and the black knight , to which amy rewards him for and also sonic unleashed where despite the earth being shattered he still opted to help chip find his memory. (maybe he learnt that from amy...) regardless , i'm not a fan of her losing her uniquely defining femininity in recent entries like frontiers (where she is stated to be over sonic) and how her character has just become a female sonic. i'd like to hear your thoughts

Amy is my favorite female sonic character, and so far none other take that place unlike the favorite male sonic character

Amy is great and I am looking forward to seeing more from her in the future. Amy does bring a lot and I do find others genuinely look her over and insultingly just say she is just the girl character. God forbid a female character be unabashedly feminine. I love that she is head over heels for Sonic and is clearly a go getter. She takes off on adventures to find Sonic and that lead to crossing the globe. She such great traits in her own right, like mentioned in the video, being a leader. I think of the music for the Amy's Room stage in Sonic Battle and it displays a character full of energy, love and a bit of a mischief maker.

Yes, this video is wonderful and shows how important Amy has always been to the franchise and that Sega will do the best for her from now on, I would like her to have her own game in which she has a Solo Adventure or with Cream.

My favorite portrayal of Amy was in Sonic Frontiers and Sonic Adventure 2. Unfortunately i have not played the first one😢

I don't have much to add, unfortunately, haha, but I will say that I think it would have been nice to see a version of the "Amy-less timeline" that just removes her from every individual game, instead of from the whole timeline - like, when talking about e.g. Sonic Heroes, you would talk about what would happen if she had been there up until that point but wasn't in Sonic Heroes; basically discussing each game on its own. My personal thoughts on Amy aren't very elaborate, since I haven't actually experienced many Sonic stories in full, but I will say that Amy in The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog is absolutely excellent and I'm more convinced of that the more I think about it

oh you’re right! i forgot about 3d Blast. i was just focused on his story in SA1 so i didn’t even factor that in. but either way maybe the threat of a water god would distract him too much to be focused on a Flicky. but very good point!

PEAK VIDEO HAS ARRIVED! Amy really has come a long way, even withe me personally. Early on, I didn't hate her, but I didn't exactly love her. As time went on, I realized "omg...she's actually a great character." Like you said, she's very influential to a few characters like Gamma and Shadow. All because of her natural kindness and love for others. With everything she's done, how could you not love Amy? And as for her love for Sonic, I know MANY people are mixed on that aspect of her, but I really don't mind it. We all need a sweet cheerleader from time to time. Just let her be Sonic's personal cheerleader. I especially love her in Frontiers. Helping out the Koco just seems like something she's bound to do, despite being stuck in cyber limbo. I hope they can make her even better in the next main game. This really was a great character analysis/gushing video! Keep on doing what you love!

Hey there fellow Sonic KZreadr and friend awesome analysis video you did about Amy Rose in how important her story role is to the franchise and how without her presence amongst the cast of characters there would quote on quote Choas amongst the planet, death and destruction if no one else comforte or talks to Shadow like she did, someone to respect a robot like Gamma and even to save Sonic from silver ect. I love the character of Amy rose ane i believe she is a positive light that you said a character to represent love and peace amongs others snd thats what I extremely love about her character! 😍🙏💖 I also have a confession on how how i got into the Sonic series too thanks to Amy. So when i was younger i did played sonic on the genisis and when i was young and i had neighbors of kids my age and they taught me more about Sonic by showing me his games and the anime Sonic X at the time but i wasn't fully hard on Sonic yet at the time. Sadly then my friends moved away then one day i was in the internet i was aware of Amy Rose a little bit so the more i looked her during the mid 2000s likw seeing images of her on Google or videos of her during the very early stages of KZread i was drawn to her and wanted to see more of her in action! Like i watched Sonic X for i played the games for her so its like me growing in Middle school i loved Sonic franchise more thanks to Amy Rose now Sonic i love him too he's my all time favorite character and i have my personality traits thanks to the blue blur and as for Amy she was and always was my favorite famale Sonic character of all time and i was in love with the character and you could say i am still to this day. It feels like i grew up with her just like with Sonic And the others and I love how Sega are now having Amy being markable with her and I hope to see that it continues with her after everything she's went through and I swear she better gets some recognition and some love to be put in Sonic movie 3 because I honestly am excited for Movie 3 don't get me wrong but honestly it would be annoying to me at least if we have this movie being a sausage fest about all these male creatures together and yet 3rd movie without representing a female character From the franchise to show that she can be a great balance between the boys and that she could be the one to light uo Shadows heart when the others would wanna resolve in fighting. Sonic Adventure: Sonic destroys Gamma, but (pink) Birdie never reunites with its family. Eggman still commands Beta mk ii while the other E-100 series still remodel their selves and end up working for the doctor again. Sonic Adventure 2: Sonic would still be locked in prison. And Shadow is never redeemed and successfully sees Earth be destroyed. Tails would've likely been distracted with a boss fight with GUN. And if Earth somehow wasn't destroyed by the ARK, we'd be dealing with a post apocalyptic planet. Sonic Heroes: Cream, Cheese, and Big are never reunited with Chocola and Froggy as they didn't have someone to lead them and keep their spirits up. Shadow the Hedgehog: Cream and Cheese are never rescued as no one looked for them. Sonic '06: Silver never questions his mission and would've killed Sonic. Iblis is released onto the world and Mephiles fuses with it to form Solaris.

I feel like Amy's characterization was muddled because there wasn't a clear direction for her character outside of "loves Sonic", but now it seems her writing has a focal point that can only grow from frontiers. It's funny because like you said it's been there for a very long time with Sonic Adventure, just needed more expansion. I'm really excited to see where her, Tails, and Knuckles go from there.
