I recognize some of those crossings . That second rail was the latest addition from Albany to Schenectady

it would be nice if they could speed up the train from DC to Richmond like that at least up to 110 , make it the south end of the NEC then speed up from Richmond on down to Charlotte

Remember,when it comes to diesel powered passenger trains,nothing on this good earth will come close in terms of speed to a british made hst 125,that still hold down the world speed record of 148 mph

It was the eastbound Lakeshore limited #48
1:52 2 Genesis units + 9 carriages (276m/905ft) thunders by in 7 seconds: 140km/h (87mph) Is it only a thought of mine or it is insane to go through level crossings at that pace?

There are dozens of crossings in the US where Amtrak passes through at 110MPH on the Michigan line and Empire line. And the Southwest Chief as well as the Surfliners have a bunch of crossings where they pass through at 90. These crossings are statistically no more dangerous then slower crossings. They are perfectly safe if people don’t drive around or through the gates. The same way we have traffic lights on highways with 60 mph speed limits. Obey the signals and people will stay safe
I'd hate for someone to cross paths with one of those trains
does surfliners even run by the route you're in?

Thanks for the comment. To answer your question, they do not run in the route I film in. Only viewliners and Amfleets are really out here.
