The Bee is about Lemminkäinen and what happened to him (his fate) where the mother couldn’t bring him back to life and had to ask a bee to fly to heaven and get some honey from a sky God which restore him back to life. Silent Waters is from the mother’s perspective

I suggest traveling to Finland summer time. Usualy from late june to middle august are the warmest period and nature is very pretty. Days are long for daylight lasting almost 24/7. That time here is also lots of music festivals if there are better situation and this corona time is over.

My absolute favorite track by Amorphis. This was the song that really made me fell in eternal love with the band. It's beautiful like nothing I heard before in my life. I bought the album during a festival they headlined, but couldn't have it signed, unfortunately. About the video, it features an edited version of the song, without the second verse. Try to listen to the full song later.

This song is what got me into amorphis great song

I use go have a reoccurring nightmare of my don drowning in the canal behind the house is was raised in. The release of this song stopped those nightmares. This was 13 years ago, I have custody of him and we had his freshman orientation today. I love this band.

My son died in 2007, this song its to powerfull y meaningfull to me, as a mother I can say that its the worst pain in the world, to lose a child, I would do the same tha Lemminkäinens mom did fot him If I could. :( I loved this video. :( His name was Uriel.

Great band! Check out the stuff they did back in the early 90's! That's what I mostly know them by in my teenage years!!

Amorphis is a great band , in my top 3. They play such beautiful melodic death music.

They have a song called The Bee and it`s from their latest album from 2018 called Queen of Time, I recommend you that album , it is such a good album to listen. Their music is very melodic and calming.

Weaving the Incantation is the best of Amorphis, well worth a listen as it combines the brutality of this band with the harmony they are also renown for.

Song got me out of a rough place a few weeks ago, haven't listened to it since, but have been listening to a lot of new age Amorphis. Do you ever feel like the river is speaking to you, through others posting things that are relevant to you?

I wish your requesters would recommend the live version over studio when it's night and day better.

Vin....I got guilt too...a very dear friend of mine was killed... because I had "BETTER" things to do....we swapped shifts....she took my patrol....it was a bull shit patrol... just walk a fence for 2hours...and I'll come relive you to finish out the next 6....half hour in to it there was a cross border shootout and she was hit...to this day, I will never forgive myself for my selfishness....it should have been me!

I was actually kinda bit starstruck when you responded...the 'incidendent' I wrote about happened OVER 20 yrs ago...and yes, thank God, I have found my reasons to keep living, one is the love of my live, my wife, the other, is our 6 yr old daughter!!! The guilt is still there, but I have a family now, and friend that helps me carry my burden! Love you both, @VinAnd Sori

Thousands of years ago there was no Finland or the people of Finland... so I don't think that's the point, not for me anyway. But it is a valid question. It's more of a personal thing, maybe it's some weird form of midlife crisis 😁. Then again I've been always interested about myths and mythology as well as history. But there are this strong feeling of connection between the nature, the mythology and the line of people who were here before me. And because of the feeling of connection I want to learn about those people who happened to wander here ten thousand years ago when the ice age started to end. So it's not because I want to do bronze age larping

@@Kai_kmk I can kinda land somewhere on the opposite end of this spectrum, I think. I care about history in as much as it informs the present and there is a series of events that resulted in modern day everything and it's important to understand how and why we are where we are. With that said, I don't feel any sense of pride in a mass of land, that is ridiculous. Nobody belongs anywhere. Countries are arbitrary, and the sooner we recognize that homeland is meaningless coincidence the better off we'll all be. Having a sense of pride in history you had no influence over is like taking pride in the fact that you rolled a die and it landed on 1. History is to be studied, learned from, but moved forward from. Always be moving forward. Beyond that mythology is mythology and as far as I can tell the main reason anyone bought into it was lack of better explanation. We have better explanations for stuff now though. Stick it in a museum where it belongs.

This newer Amorphis all sounds like the same song every time. Could have sworn they reacted to this but this is all they make these days. watered down pop rock.
