my mother, who would be nearly a hundred years old this year, always said that "chopper" was for making bisquits. she grew up in the backwoods of northern maine with first generation mom and dad from French quebec
I always try to have hamburger browned and in the freezer to just grab out when I want to make a casserole or something. So I brown like 3-5lbs at once and divide into meal size containers and pop in the freezer. So handy!

I do that with meatballs. I mix up 5 lbs of meat and use a utensil like you use for cookies to scoop out the balls and brown in the oven...not cook through...and freeze in bags. Great for sauce, soup and casseroles.

This is a must for us. We’re a large family so we buy the family pack- sometimes two (5lbs each) and I brown it all up and separate it out into freezer bags that I can grab and use for meals... sometimes i will also toss in greens and shredded carrots after the fat is drained and cook it down a few more minutes so each meal gets a little extra vegetable.
No need to apologize about your cooking or presentation. You do an amazing job. You have a beautiful family, a loving husband and a good heart. So many women don’t give themselves enough credit for all they do. Please don’t apologize.
Both the salad and oatmeal look amazing. I will give them a try. I like to do some meal prep on Sundays. I’m a single woman but it’s nice to come home to a meal that is ready in just a few minutes. This video was awesome. Please do more. Thanks Lynette. Have a blessed weekend.
I love your style, Lynette. You have a great eye for home decor!
I ordered a set of the Swiss made knives that you mentioned in one of your videos. They were delivered today and I can’t wait to try them out! Thank you for sharing! I really enjoy your videos. 😊
Yay!!! I've been waiting for this!! Love it!
Even “boring” dinner meals will still be interesting to see. You might be surprised! I am always interested in how other people feed their families as it seems to be such a cultural and traditional thing. Food is so personal
Please do the what we eat in a week video!!! Love your channel
I just love watching you all the videos I've seen so far once i start it's hard to stop i take you with when ever im canning cooking dishes ect....
I love this video!! Thank you. :) It was a huge encouragement. :) please more of these ❤❤❤
Love the video! Thank you for showing the prep and the cooking!
Yes, do more of these type of videos! Thank you for sharing!❤😃
Love watching your videos! Keep up the great work .
Your food looks so fresh and appetising. It was lovely to see your little helper so enthusiastic about a relatively healthy snack (at least you know what's in it); too many children now are weaned on junk by busy parents who are ignorant of how much harm this can cause. I was raised on wholesome foods cooked from scratch largely because my folks had plain tastes and couldn't afford the stuff that was bad for us! I still much prefer home cooking to fast food, albeit I've branched out to trying other cuisines too.
Faith, family, fashion, food and fun! All the reasons I appreciate your vlogs (especially the Amish/Mennonite cooking) stuff!

Love your channel. Reminds me of home, especially the strawberry chopper! Memories of my Mom and Grammy!
Hi Lynnette! I meal plan and it’s saved us so much time and in our budget too. I mainly prep on Saturday. I cook for Saturday and Sunday at once. I like to rest as much as possible on Sunday after church, so having leftovers for everyone to choose from works out great.
I just today discovered your channel and I absolutely love it. I'm thrilled and so excited to binge watch all the episodes so far. Thank you so much 🌷❤🌻
Looks great! I am going to try this salad for sure. Thanks for all you do.
That salad looks DELICIOUS!..And I need that chopper in my life! Thanks for the links👍😁🤗
The salad looks SO yummy!
Yum! It all looks delicious! I will definitely try these recipes.
Lynette, the Oatmeal Bake looks scrumptious. Thank you for the meal ideas. I basically do this myself. I make Chicken Cacciatore one day and then refrigerate it over night, then heat it up the next day and serve it over rice. I do this for soups, chilis and stuff like that in the winter. We eat a lot of soups in the winter because it is so cold here in Ohio. Anything I can prep for the week, makes it easier for when I get home from work. Thanks again for sharing these recipes.
That salad looks absolutely delicious!
Loved this! That salad looked good! And I have those knives in my amazon cart now. 🙈 I actually am doing a meal prep video today, so I was happy to see what you do for meal prep. ❤️

Love meal prep videos! Thanks for the salad recipe! Going to try it soon! And, we love baked oatmeal. I make it in the silicone cupcake liners to make it grab and go. I just made it twice in the past two weeks, and will be making some today with blueberries in them.
Love to see your big guy helping you in the kitchen
I love baked oatmeal!!!! Everything looked wonderful. Can't wait for the week of meals!

I will see what I can do!
We have an entire Victorinox knife block full of their knives. We first found them at Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Pigeon Forge, TN. We have their chef knife, bread knife, boning knife, steak knives, and a non-serated paring knife. I agree, once you use them you will never want a different brand. A lot of ours have to be almost a decade old. Best knives ever!
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Most of the time I'm thinking 6 steps ahead in fixing meals. I love that it helps creating order for the family. 🌴 God bless. 💗
Really enjoyed this and want to try both the salad and the baked oatmeal! Yum. I would enjoy a week of dinners video!
Found your channel just a few days ago. You are delightful and so are your kids.
Loved all the recipes and will for sure try them. Would love to see some dinner recipes! Thanks for sharing 💕
You have such good helpers! I'm really enjoying your videos. God bless. I have never seen that chopper before! 👍
Your salad looked delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing ! Please do more videos like this.
This was a GREAT video! I will be making your salad for the next potluck at church. You’re a gem!!
They are my favorites!!!!
I have a chopper - I have always had one. I love it!
We pick blueberries in Indiana most years from a blueberry farm - they definitely would say don't rinse, just freeze. They can stay good for a couple years! (At least I hope so because we picked way too many last year, lol!) That salad sounds absolutely delightful - will definitely be trying it. I love this video - hope you'll do more food prep or cooking videos!
Enjoyed this video Lynette. Thanks!!
Great job!All looks delicious
We sold those choppers for a fund raiser when i was in school (in the 60's 😱😁)! I still have mine and love love love it! Best slaw maker.
Thanks for the new recipe ideas!!
Love your videos Lynette.
This was great! I love simple meal prep. I don't do it all the time but sometimes I'll just cook up several chicken breasts (usually just boiled) and either cut up into cubes or shred it and then freeze in different recipe amounts. It's great for things like homemade chicken noodle soup or to use in salads and we add buffalo sauce for a buffalo chicken salad. For meals where there is lots of other flavor, boiling the chicken is just fine and it makes for some quick meals down the road. I would love to see a week of dinners! I love those types of videos. Even if you think it's boring, it can help give us new ideas! 😀
The salad and baked oatmeal look great. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I enjoy your recipes. The baked oatmeal looks great.
Love hearing the boys playing in the background! Reminds me of when my 4 were little. Everything looked good and it would be easy to make adjustments for special dietary requirements for any of the recipes. I really enjoy your channel!!!

I loved hearing them as well!
We pre-grill meats and veggies for the week. We use them as straight meals or in mexican style bowls or salads. We also slice up and freeze extra meats for salad toppings or quick quesadillas. We freeze the extra veggies for quesadillas or omlets. We usually do them in individual portions so it is a quick grab. We also pre-fry hamburger meat and freeze in 1lb portions. Makes it easy to make quick chili, spaghetti, or taco salad.
Hello from the UK 🙋🏼; I love all your videos and really enjoyed this one. Will look forward to your meal ideas. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes, Max. X
Looks delicious!! Wiuld love to see more meal related videos.
This was very interesting! More such videos please!! I agree with you about the Victorinox knives...they're the best
I do have one of those choppers and love it. Also made sure both my girls have one.
Everything looked so yummy! I usually try to keep onions, green peppers, & celery on hand in the freezer. Thanks for sharing your recipes :) I'm always looking for something to keep from falling into a rut.

Whenever I cut up any veggies that I use a lot I will just cut up extra throw in q zip lock bag and toss in the freezer. That way I only have to chop up that kind of stuff about once a week. Sometimes when I get bell peppers at Costco I will chop them all up and separate out portions and toss in recipes. Those ones last me a long time because they have so much.
Ah, blueberries are coming! Can't wait!
Ive got about 7 Victorinox knives. My son got them for me a few years ago,and they are VERY sharp. Use them for everything. Hello from Malta! Love your salad. Thank you for sharing have a safe and blessed weekend.
Loved this video!! Meal prep makes all the difference in the world.........huge time saver. Hope you have a great weekend. ~Dana~
I buy ground meat on sale in the large family packs. I brown it all and then divide up into meal portion sizes and put into zip lock bags and keep them in the freezer. I also put a little paper towel in the baggies with my peppers and carrots and also in my spinach container. I find it helps absorb excess moisture, but still not dried out and prevents them from getting slimey. My friend owns a blueberry farm and instructs how to freeze blueberries the way you do. Last week, I made your Peanutbutter graham cracker pudding dessert and my husband and son LOVED it. Our Ladies Aid group at church is hosting a luncheon in three weeks and I plan to make it to bring to that.

👍🏽 yes. That’s what I did with these too. ☺️ the paper towel. And glad you liked the dessert!
WOW! LOOKS DELICIOUS!
Hi Lynette, Loved your blog. The little hand gadget, chopper, got one. Use it alot. I live in Pennsylvania. In Apollo. Thats about a half hour from Smicksburg.
Thank you so much Lynnette for this! Preparing food for my family every single day is my hardest part of being a home Mom! 🙊

One thing I do that really helps us (it's my husband, our daughter who has Down Syndrome, she's 38 & myself). I make up a list of the main dish for dinner for 2 weeks at a time. My husband does most of the cooking as I have a bad back & have a difficult time standing for even a few minutes. Anyway, that keeps us out of the daily , what's for dinner rut. If we're having a pot roast, we always cook a larger one & then a day or two later make roast beef hash. If were cooking chicken, we cook a couple extra chicken breasts & use those for casseroles, to put in a salad, or sandwiches for lunch. That 's a great way to make use of your time in the kitchen. Another thing we like to do is make specific dinners for 2 days & the 3rd day is leftover day. Those are a few of the time saving ways that we've incorporated into our routine.
Yum... love that salad. Thanks for sharing. 😋
Oh that baked oatmeal looks delicious! I have to give it a try. Prepping all your meals is a great time saver, especially if you’re a working mom with a large family like I was. I’d prep on grocery day put some items in the freezer for crockpot meals... so easy. We were 20 miles out from town so it was great to have dinner prepped or ready in the crockpot. Thanks for sharing you recipes and gadgets!

When I was a skinny little stringbean of a kid growing up in Central Pennsylvania, my family doctor prescribed me baked oatmeal with ice cream on top for breakfast every day. Needless to say, I ate that right up. Try it, you'll like it! Doctor's orders. =)
So interesting. I have never seen the round chopper. Thanks for sharing some of your prep ideas.
The salad 🥗 looks yummy 😋! The oatmeal cookie 🍪 crumble looks delicious 🤤 with the berries and yogurt! Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing!👍🏻❤️😊🌺Happy Mothers Day!💐
All the recipes look amazing!
I really enjoyed this!
I really really enjoyed this. Happy early Mother's Day 🤗🌺🌻
Love this!!!! Please keep them coming. Now I’m hungry😏
Great video! The oatmeal brought back memories of my Grandma’s rice. She would make it with milk, butter and sugar. It was so good.
Oh wow you have those wonderful "butter" knives too. The rounded ones. My husband has to have these knife set at the table for all meals!
I'm going to try the salad - it sounds delish! The Pampered Chef chopper looks fabulous, I definitely need one😁
I love these videos! I'd love to see your weekly dinner plans. And I have one of those choppers for strawberries. It's been in my family for over 60 years, used when my mom put up strawberries back in the day. Best tool for cutting berries. :)
Thank you SO much! I lived in Pennsylvania Dutch country for a while and I miss the food so much, especially baked oatmeal! =)
That knife is my favorite too. Might need to order a spare! Love your channel. Blessings
