I always try to have hamburger browned and in the freezer to just grab out when I want to make a casserole or something. So I brown like 3-5lbs at once and divide into meal size containers and pop in the freezer. So handy!

I do that with meatballs. I mix up 5 lbs of meat and use a utensil like you use for cookies to scoop out the balls and brown in the oven...not cook through...and freeze in bags. Great for sauce, soup and casseroles.

This is a must for us. We’re a large family so we buy the family pack- sometimes two (5lbs each) and I brown it all up and separate it out into freezer bags that I can grab and use for meals... sometimes i will also toss in greens and shredded carrots after the fat is drained and cook it down a few more minutes so each meal gets a little extra vegetable.

Your food looks so fresh and appetising. It was lovely to see your little helper so enthusiastic about a relatively healthy snack (at least you know what's in it); too many children now are weaned on junk by busy parents who are ignorant of how much harm this can cause. I was raised on wholesome foods cooked from scratch largely because my folks had plain tastes and couldn't afford the stuff that was bad for us! I still much prefer home cooking to fast food, albeit I've branched out to trying other cuisines too.

Lynette, the Oatmeal Bake looks scrumptious. Thank you for the meal ideas. I basically do this myself. I make Chicken Cacciatore one day and then refrigerate it over night, then heat it up the next day and serve it over rice. I do this for soups, chilis and stuff like that in the winter. We eat a lot of soups in the winter because it is so cold here in Ohio. Anything I can prep for the week, makes it easier for when I get home from work. Thanks again for sharing these recipes.

We have an entire Victorinox knife block full of their knives. We first found them at Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Pigeon Forge, TN. We have their chef knife, bread knife, boning knife, steak knives, and a non-serated paring knife. I agree, once you use them you will never want a different brand. A lot of ours have to be almost a decade old. Best knives ever!

This was great! I love simple meal prep. I don't do it all the time but sometimes I'll just cook up several chicken breasts (usually just boiled) and either cut up into cubes or shred it and then freeze in different recipe amounts. It's great for things like homemade chicken noodle soup or to use in salads and we add buffalo sauce for a buffalo chicken salad. For meals where there is lots of other flavor, boiling the chicken is just fine and it makes for some quick meals down the road. I would love to see a week of dinners! I love those types of videos. Even if you think it's boring, it can help give us new ideas! 😀

We pre-grill meats and veggies for the week. We use them as straight meals or in mexican style bowls or salads. We also slice up and freeze extra meats for salad toppings or quick quesadillas. We freeze the extra veggies for quesadillas or omlets. We usually do them in individual portions so it is a quick grab. We also pre-fry hamburger meat and freeze in 1lb portions. Makes it easy to make quick chili, spaghetti, or taco salad.

Whenever I cut up any veggies that I use a lot I will just cut up extra throw in q zip lock bag and toss in the freezer. That way I only have to chop up that kind of stuff about once a week. Sometimes when I get bell peppers at Costco I will chop them all up and separate out portions and toss in recipes. Those ones last me a long time because they have so much.

I buy ground meat on sale in the large family packs. I brown it all and then divide up into meal portion sizes and put into zip lock bags and keep them in the freezer. I also put a little paper towel in the baggies with my peppers and carrots and also in my spinach container. I find it helps absorb excess moisture, but still not dried out and prevents them from getting slimey. My friend owns a blueberry farm and instructs how to freeze blueberries the way you do. Last week, I made your Peanutbutter graham cracker pudding dessert and my husband and son LOVED it. Our Ladies Aid group at church is hosting a luncheon in three weeks and I plan to make it to bring to that.

One thing I do that really helps us (it's my husband, our daughter who has Down Syndrome, she's 38 & myself). I make up a list of the main dish for dinner for 2 weeks at a time. My husband does most of the cooking as I have a bad back & have a difficult time standing for even a few minutes. Anyway, that keeps us out of the daily , what's for dinner rut. If we're having a pot roast, we always cook a larger one & then a day or two later make roast beef hash. If were cooking chicken, we cook a couple extra chicken breasts & use those for casseroles, to put in a salad, or sandwiches for lunch. That 's a great way to make use of your time in the kitchen. Another thing we like to do is make specific dinners for 2 days & the 3rd day is leftover day. Those are a few of the time saving ways that we've incorporated into our routine.

Oh wow you have those wonderful "butter" knives too. The rounded ones. My husband has to have these knife set at the table for all meals!

I'm going to try the salad - it sounds delish! The Pampered Chef chopper looks fabulous, I definitely need one😁

I love these videos! I'd love to see your weekly dinner plans. And I have one of those choppers for strawberries. It's been in my family for over 60 years, used when my mom put up strawberries back in the day. Best tool for cutting berries. :)
