I found a very long highway tunnel under Paris that has a very low ceiling (you feel like you're gonna scrape it), has all the repetitive lighting and dull concrete decor, and no traffic at all, like a tunnel in the night city race that lasts for 20 minutes, but thankfully has cellphone signal so I could blast this all the way through. I made it !

I haven't played this game... but I always go fucking gaga for Amiga music. Mod music is just transcendent, my favourite type of video game music - old or new school, that's also why I adore the soundtracks to the original "Unreal" games and the first "Deus Ex." I know some people bitched about them bringing back an outdated format, but the mod music still rocked. It's so atmospheric and unique.

palexpereira It's a pretty generic term for music created using some sort of tracker software like Soundtracker, Protracker, OctaMED on the Amiga, Fast Tracker 2, Scream Tracker 3, Impulse Tracker on PC etc etc etc. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_tracker
I miss great old game soundtracks like this one. The music is by far one of the greatest things of gaming past.
That intro + the first track playing... pure awesomeness
13:22 CD 'Miami Ice' always pumped me up!
I remember spending hours and hours playing Amiga games with my friend and particularly this one too. That was the golden era of games or maybe I just became adult. But but music is still fantastic!

zBLACK0Rz The big shift happened in 1996 with Diablo and Quake music. which was more of an ambient soundtrack than proper music. Then Thief and Half-Life hit the shelves with basically silent theme and the rest of the industry followed. I think one of the last games with really great mod soundtrack was Deus Ex in 2000.

Way back in the day. Every kid used to have a shoebox full of Amiga games on tape cassette. Only thing was that only two or three of the cassettes actually worked. The rest just always used to crash in the last two minutes of loading. This was one of the games that didn't and we used to play it until after bedtime. Oh how I miss those days 😿
Listening to the intro back then was epic and still holds up.

oh shit, I remember Metal Machine being used for a Wii homebrew program that we (my family) used; I never knew the source for it's banger until now, and look at that, I just find it all willy-nilly while looking for this OST nice
Just love it so much
My personal number 1, talking about old school racing game soundtracks, in general. The one which completely took it to another level was, nonetheless, Screamer in 1995. I´ve been listening to this soundtrack on the Autobahn in every one of my first five or six cars. The original game CD was just a traditional resident to my in-car cd wallet.
Patrick Phelan is a music god.
thank you, very nice! прямо детство вспомнил!
@10:31 Cool! I didn't know they used a remix of the Zool theme for Lotus III?! I had never noticed this back in the day, it took me more than 20 years to find out! LoL! :D
Phelan knocks it out of the park, every time. I will say the only track missing from this selection is the "Desert Loading" track from the Easy and Hard Championships, which features the melody of "Tooting Common" from Zool II, but there is not a single tune in this OST that doesn't go hard from beginning to end.
Świetna giera Amiga forever
Good job!!!
The thing to take away here is that even the loading screens had music that SLAPPED
This is the one soundtrack I unconsciously find myself turning up the speed on my treadmill desk while playing. ;-)

Metal Machines, Space Ninja and Shamrip are amazing even to this day
alot of thought ent into the making of this song and to listen to i it must have taken the composer months to create, and alot of people listen and thing its just nothing, this was real skill and at the time was well noticed. Amazing work. im so glad i was brought up with an amiga than a shitty dos pc speaker.
Very good effect on my headphone Fostex TH900, incredible sounds...
At your mates computer in the corner of the dining room when you loaded this for the first time with the main theme “this is gonna be amazing...” ...and it was. Somehow didn’t have the same polish as Lotus 2 but it was endlessly playable
Honesly, can't stop listening to the Amiga tunes since the late 80's, early 90's. And the Lotus series on the Amiga where some of the best examples... Was it the composers back then? Was it Paula (the sound chip) ? Probably both....can't say...
God that brings back memories
An unusual one to pick out but I have always had a soft spot for the very last tune in this compilation! I don't know its name but its the one you hear at the end of a race playing over the race results screen.
that's so cool !! :-)
5:08-5:23 was definitely inspired by the extended version of You Are The One by TKA.
