Amiga Longplay Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers

For an AGA game it doesn't look that good. It's on 7 disks and yet with all the small characters/sprites and stuff, there's like no background animations... just a couple or something, like lights, no people moving. Also crap sound quality and the music sucks. There's no intro or title music either. But if this is what's required to get the awesome speed this game has, then it's worth it. Compared to the other Street Fighter games on the Amiga, THIS one runs fast and smooth, 50fps, very high playability. Another awesome thing is CD32 gamepad support, 6 buttons can be used, like the arcade versions.
I chose to play with Super Mode 'off', cuz I wanted the bonus levels. With Super Mode 'on' you get to fight against more characters, but the bonus rounds are left out. I just wanted to get through this game quickly anyway, so having it 'off' makes it quicker :P, ye, I'm lazy... and ye, I suck. Only did a couple of pratice rounds.
This game runs in 50fps and alot of moves and stuff uses flickering to make the effects. I usually upload 50fps movies in 25 on KZread to keep it moving/scrolling smooth, but this time it has to be upped in 30, or alot of times stuff will go invicible or just ignore the effects of all the special moves etc. It will of course look like CRAP in 30fps, but it's better than 25. If you wanna see it in super smooth action with everything visible and all effects behaving like they should, download the source video.
I didn't bother centering the screen while fighting, would have to cut the movie in many parts then, bleh. I added an extra fight at the end where I play in max speed.
So, of all the available Street Fighter games on the Amiga, this is the best one imo, as to me, playability is king. Super Street Fighter II Turbo has CD soundtracks and killer graphics, but it plays like shit and tons of animation and stuff were left out. -

For what it's worth, this was the best version of Street Fighter 2 on the Amiga. Base SF2 was an absolute atrocity, as was SSF2T, but this made all the right compromises to at least be playable. That being said, although the Amiga was unsuited to having big sprites, games like Elfmania and Shadow Warrior - despite their gameplay flaws (the developers simply had no competence in making fighting games) - showed that an accurate port of Street Fighter 2 should have been possible.

This is actually really good and playable, unlike the first SF2 on Amiga. It sacrificed graphics but it plays just like the arcade.

A decent effort IMO, they obviously realised smoother play was more important than aesthetics. Good sound effects.

For an Amiga Game, it's very good. Trust me, it's difficult to find a good fighting game to Amiga. I liked this version.

Ok this is nowhere nearly as good as the SNES and megadrive versions. And the Amiga was capable of much better.

In my opinion even though the graphics are abit iffy, this version is 10 times better than the original Street Fighter 2 on the Amiga. Looks more solid gameplay wise, sound and voices are much better ( even the different tone of Ryu and Ken voices ) Also one thing I noticed is that the Shoryuken is not a charge move like it was in the original SF 2 for the Amiga with the hold down for 2 seconds than up and fire button motion. The player was executing it quite fast sometimes even while moving which leads me to believe they fixed it and made like the arcade motion. All in all it is a really decent and highly playable port from the looks of it

This seems to be the most well rounded street fighter game on the amiga. It has good music, good sound effects, Ok graphics, and most of the graphics were in its right place. There were even light animations, something the amiga doesn't usually have.

I bought this retail at the time and it is indeed the best street fighter experience you can get on the Amiga, it was a least playable but the disk swapping was a nightmare. I think it came on about 10 disk or something like that.

Can't believe how good is this port considering the hardware! It plays just so close to the arcade..the attack patterns are the same..looks like a carbon copy just with downgraded graphics. So great work!!

But how could they screw up porting something like SSF2 to something as relatively powerful as the Ami-[sees U.S. Gold logo]-
