AMG M156 V8 Refresh Part 3: Bedplate Removal, Rear Main Seal & More!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I finally remove the bedplate from the M156 and clean down ALL of the mating surfaces thoroughly. I also change the rear main seal while its nice and easy with the bedplate off.

I plan on keeping my 63s for as long as I can as well, otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered doing all this haha

Sam, love your M156 contents! off topic, do you have a video on changing out the engine mount? I saw you changed out your trans mount but not the engine mount! Thanks :)

I don’t yet for the C63 as I haven’t needed to change them yet. I do change them on my ML63 in an upcoming video but that’s a bit different as I had the entire engine out haha

You had to remove the heads to remove the timing cover right ?

Nope not necessary, in a later video when I remove the timing cover I actually left the heads on. You just have to remove the cams to access a couple of bolts on each head, and then remove the timing gears from the heads along with the pins for the chain guides.
