One plus with the Amex hertz PC is that you also get a 4 hour return window. This differs from all other PC benefits in that they don't offer the 4 hour return window. That means you can get an extra 4 hours on any rental vehicle then standard 24 hour rate. So if you rent a car from 1pm you would normally be charged 2 days if you return it after 1pm. But with Amex you could return it no later then 5pm and not be charged an extra day fee.

some really annoying things with the monthly credits. I signed up for Walmart+ on July 1st and was charged. Then I was charged again on July 31st for August monthly membership. Because I already got a credit in July, I didn't get a second credit for the August benefit. Both Amex and Walmart customer service didn't help me so I just canceled it. Not worth the headache, but if I really wanted it I would try to set the billing date to the middle of the month if possible. I use audible for the streaming credit and was not charged in February. I think because it is a shorter month. Because of this I was charged twice in March and didn't get the full credit for both months. I asked Audible to revise my billing date to the start of the month. Hopefully they don't pull a Walmart + on me in July.

Watched this video as a reality check. We love this card for travel. Since we are able to travel during non-peak periods we have made out like bandits on the fine hotel room upgrades at plenty of awesome resorts!

The Amex sign up offers can be higher if you use the check for offers before signing up. I got 125K points for the platinum card this month for the same spending amount within 6 months.

Note: The Gold card that a Platinum authorized user gets for free is not the Amex Gold. This gold card uses the same point system as platinum minus benefits. Though its free and points get accumulated to the platinum account.

Walmart + has been a huge help. I hate having to go to Walmart. Period. With + I just order everything have it sent home, saves money cause prices are usually cheaper on the app than in store, saves time and saves fuel.

Data Point... So I set Jetblue for my airline credit. I transferred points to cover a flight but obviously gotta pay taxes. So I used my platinum to pay. A few days later I was credited back my money. So the airline credit works towards taxes with Jetblue. So that was 100% Free flight.

Nope. Its literally just if a suite is available or a room on a less busy floor or a more desirable location in the hotel.

How does the Centurion lounge access work for family travel? I generally travel with my family of four so would that mean I would have to at least make my wife an authorized user for an additional $175 a year then pay for my kids, or would it be better to just use the priority pass lounge with something like the VX that has 4 free AUs each of which can have two guests?

I would do Priority Pass if I were you. I think one person can bring in four guests. Lately, the centurion lounges are really crowded, the quality has gone down, and they are smaller than other lounges like the Delta Sky Club.

If your kids are 13 or older, you can add them as authorized users as well which would get them lounge access. The $175 fee for AU's covers your first three. This would also begin establishing their credit history, even if you just kept their credit card in your desk drawer.
