Petitioner had an uphill battle from the get go, arguing Younger Abstention to the person who dislikes Younger abstention the most 😂

Another instance where Harvard invited a future Supreme Court justice, Breyer, to judge the moot court....and a young Congressman Adam Schiff is seen in the beginning announcements

Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor did one of these in 1982. Guess who was next to her? Ruth Bader Ginsburg from the D.C. Circuit who 11 years later joined O’Connor on the Supreme Court in 1993 after President Clinton appointed her.

I wonder how the case documents are laid out by the moot court- I was born with Spina Bifida in 1967, got a shunt in 1968, graduated college 1990 and have been fully employed since There’s a WIDE range of possibilities with Spina Bifida babies, Hospital in my home town suggested I be given up to the state- parents disagreed and took me to U of Wisconsin Hospital where a surgeon gave me a chance while cautioning my parents that I could still die young or have severe cognitive problems

The state has an inherent interest in property, that is the doctor's license.

Judges deal with thousands of cases and often need to be refreshed. They key is not whether the judge knows the law, but if counsel knows what the hell he/she is arguing!
