Two teams progressed to the Final Round through their strong research abilities and excellent written and oral advocacy.

My goodness, our friend Kannon looks like a teenager here! And if you know him, he has aged very gracefully since!

While they do get better in production, this was one of the worst-argued in general, although it's really hard not to love David Souter. Definitely picks up on the last oralist. (I'm only an amateur, but it seems intellectual property was not a strong suit for the students.) 1984 is a good one with Breyer on the First Circuit under Brennan! (Breyer and Souter joke about being confused for one another LOL.) A commentator there said, "This case, along with the 1975 case, are the best moot court cases ever. " I agree. I would also heartily recommend 1977 with the priceless Thurgood Marshall. He is SO funny! 1974 has Marshall again only the video was unfortunately truncated. I love these videos. They are not afraid to "go there" and tackle REALLY hard issues and yet inject a lot of humor.
