Amerton Railway Steam Gala, 18th June 2016
The second half of our Welsh Highland Railway Society West Midland Group trip (see our Chasewater Railway video taken the same morning)
This is a fantastic little railway which wanders off around a field, giving the impression of an old industrial narrow gauge line from the early part of the last century. I was particularly pleased to see Apedale's Kerr Stuart 'Joffre' 3014 and I couldn't resist adding in an old picture that I took around 36 years ago when it was looking very forlorn, acting as sentinel for the now defunct Gloddfa Ganol museum at Blaenau Ffestiniog. I certainly never thought I'd see it in steam!
Thanks to all of the team at Amerton for putting on such a fabulous show. This is for you.

You're too kind, Steve. Yes, 3014 is a great looking loco, a credit to the guys who restored it. Amazing to see it working after seeing it looking so knackered all those years ago! Thanks again for your comment :-)
What a lovely little railway. It must be really easy to do your filming. No fingering the timetable trying to figure when the next train is likely to arrive. Changing your location is a breeze as well! Your film did this little railway proud

Thank you David, for such a kind comment. You are right; one of the drawbacks of train watching is all the hanging around waiting, and wondering... this railway, (at least on gala days!) is a photographers dream! Thanks again, Dave
great video i have always been curious about this railway but never been able to visit.
