This is a good one. I was just talking to my fiancé recently and we pondered about Native American food!!! Ignorantly, all I could think was corn. So I would love a segment on this.

A lot of indigenous food is Mexican too (along with other American countries), so i recommend watching those until they decide to make another video
Jamie and Nick is the combo that I didn't know I needed! Please pair them together again!

Nick and Jaime radiating funny uncle and "im so tired of this guy" niece 😂
Tea eggs usually come out darker than the ones they're eating, should look like the color of coffee.
Lol Jair trying to make Izzy feel bad... girl, Izzy got Filipino in her... high blood or not, we stay eating pork 🤣
someone was definitely not paying attention in Chinese class...
Nick and his American taste buds 😂😂😂😂😂
I need Jamie and Nick paired up in these episodes more often
Nick with the jokes😂😂😂😊
That tea leaf eggs are done wrong. I’ve never had a tea leaf egg that tastes ‘subtle’ and so white in my entire life. After the eggs are boiled, you need to crack it again for the herbal broth to seep in and marinate it. The fact that it’s so white and not entirely light brown is telling.

I was so confused cause the marble egg looks so “egg” and I can barely see the marble…. (A decent marble egg should have a very deep Color in the yolk in atleast….). Seems like I’m not the only person feeling that way😂
As a person from Taiwan, I really don’t think you guys did the tea egg right in Taiwan the egg is much darker in color and there is a very strong tea taste
@Bersilus

agreed, that that colouring definitely goes below the "skin" it shouldn't look like a normal hard boiled egg.

It's usually flavourful, you can smell it from faraway. it's boiled and kept on low simmer for hours rather than leaving it in the cold liquid to steep

When Ash said she studied Mandarin and Chinese culture, I was kinda expecting her pronunciation to be a little better... I obviously didn't expect the tones and stuff to be perfect, but even some of the phonetics were pretty off. No hate though, just a thought I had

It's so much fun watching Jamie eat anything. Her love for food always puts a smile on my face.
Jaime just revealed her life. She wakes up and eats breakfast then goes back to sleep. Then wakes up and eats lunch then goes back to sleep. Then finally eats dinner and goes back to sleep. She has a very relaxing life.

In her past life she was a cat who accidentally saved a baby's life. The reincarnation office had never seen it before so she got bumped up to Person for her next worldly go-around. I will not be taking questions at this time.
@greenjackle

@@Frobias you almost have it correct. So she was a dog at first and thus learned to eat everything. Because she eats everything and likes it. But she chased cats so she was reincarnated as a cat to learn a lesson. Then she saved the baby and became a human. Thus she has both a cat and a dog in her. Cat for all the sleeping and dog for all the eating. She is Jaime, the CatDogGirl.
The tea egg is so not tea egg. The marinade is supposed to seep into the hard boiled egg and you should see the brown colouration.

@@ChefRalphVelosoI thought I'm the only one who noticed, what they're eating doesn't look like the food shown at all and ofc they can't completely replicate it because maybe the chef isn't Chinese? Who knows
Jaime is my role model.. wake up, eat and go back to sleep. and there's no way the whole team can stand the smell of stinky tofu and not like durian. (oh there's curry fish balls, squid, octopus, rice noodle that the team should try as well.)
Jaime and Nick are so hilarious. Love this pairing😂
The stinky tofu isn’t true stinky tofu if they couldn’t smell it as soon as it came in the room. Also, the tea egg was not made properly. It needs to be marinated until it is a much darker brown color.
Nick giving off dad energy 🤣🤣
that tea egg was not fully marinated..... it supposed to be brown...... they are literally just eating hard boiled egg and got gaslighted to think it taste different
I think the tea egg isn't marinated properly or for long enough. Many tea eggs I've seen completely change colour even when you open it up and look at the yolk. The tea eggs I ate were completely different from normal eggs.
🙄studied Mandarin in College and then mispronouncing the Chinese words😅
As a Chinese person, the mispronunciation of the Chinese names make me cringe at how off it is. But TBH it is very hard to get the nuances and proper pronunciations of the language if you don't really speak it so I'll give them a pass.
You can tell Izzy really loves being in any food video! She's living the American dream! 🎉🎉🥲
The tea egg was definitely not done right.... it colour is way too light
I love how excited Jaime gets. Nick cracks me up.
I think the hard boiled eggs weren't cracked enough before boiled/marinated in the tea egg soup so the marinate didn't seep in/soak into the egg. If made right they should be quite dark brown in colour
Jair and Izzy my fav pairing along with nick and Jaime 😂😂 this video is hilarious
I never would have thought that Nicholas would turn into my favourite reactor (besides Benison of course) 😁 I enjoy his personality so much!
It's a “g" not a “y" so Wang Zhihe. Also there are two types of stinky tofu, the street food kind and the other kind is used as a condiment. He was responsible for the condiment type.
Tea eggs were not made right. If it’s right it would’ve been dark. The egg would’ve been brown and not white.
@wenliuehkueh3549
28 күн бұрын
I think it's because she marinated it cold. Her egg yolks are still soft inside. Traditional tea eggs are boiled in the special broth so that it seeps in but the yolk would be overdone by then.
@sweatygoblin2335
28 күн бұрын
@@wenliuehkueh3549 yeah that's the problem. She made them like japanese marinated eggs, which are peeled first then marinated. Soy sauce eggs are boiled for at least an hour in the 'marinade', that's why the yolk has turned greenish in the videoo explaining them beforehand.
12:09 Nick & Jaimie might be the most entertaining pair on this whole channel. Thank you for listening to what the people want🫡

Respectfully, I kind of wish the host didn't say she studied Mandarin because her pronunciation was really iffy and the tones were all wrong. It would have been easier to let slide if she didn't mention studying Mandarin. But, then again we don't know how many classes she took. Could have been just one semester's worth.

as a maalaysian chinese, seeing the reactors eating food that are common to us is just so entertaining

You didn’t make the stinky tofu, smelly enough. And the tea egg isn’t brown enough to taste the tea! Go to 7-eleven in Taiwan and they have great tea eggs.

5:49 Did Izzy just flip off the camera? 😂
Stinky tofu actually differs by area. In northern China its a soup for example. In the Yunnan area, where I lived for a number of years, its barbecued. They make squares of it that are about an an inch by an inch, then its grilled with a bit of salt. It smells like dirty gym socks but its surprisingly tasty. Those tea eggs don't look like they marinated enough honestly, or the brine wasn't strong enough. The ones you get in China are a darker color and have a pretty strong flavor (though that does vary)
I’m convinced that Jaxon just hates everything

They should try the Tea egg in other countries, it’s way darker than that. They probably didnt cook in the soup for hours so it’s tasteless

The tea egg should be cracked more :( the yolk should be like a blue-ish brown-ish colour from getting steeped

My family is from Taiwan even though I was born in the States, and my mom makes tea eggs for me and my brother all the time. We like the flavor heavy, so our tea eggs are darker than that. I remember when we're out in Taiwan, and we wanted to buy tea eggs we also avoid the ones that look lighter and get the ones with the darker patterns and overall color because those were the ones with the heavier tastes. My mom and dad also really really likes stinky tofu, but I don't like it. This is very interesting to watch. Since I spent the majority of my time in the States, I do miss Chinese street food sometimes. Simply Chinese food is easier to come by while Chinese street food is harder to find. Yes!! I love cong you bing, it is so tasty!!!! You pronounced the name wrong, btw. It's not with a hard "k" sound, more like "ts-" sound. You can honestly make several episodes doing Chinese street food because there's so many.
jamie's and jaxon's hair tho fireeeee hahaha

They feed it to them in a lot of the punishments. But ... would like to see more of it. I want to try it myself.
I’m craving some scallion pancakes and tea eggs right now. The craving’s so intense that I might actually just make it myself
Maybe the tea egg should be marinated for a longer time or more cracked and submerged, the ones that I buy in China or my mum makes are usually brown on the surface of the white and it has a tea and soy flavor infused into it. Those flavors can be tasted from the first bite until the last. For the scallion pancakes, the sauce is usually not needed since usually, the process mixes the scallion filling with quite some salt, and a little MSG before it is kneaded into those individual dough pieces that have already quite some oil mix into it. Then they stretch those individual dough pieces one by one until a long oval shape before a big dollop of lard is spread onto the dough, Knead the dough piece hard and fast to combine every inch of the lard into that dough. Then it is shaped into a ball by hand squished into the frypan with a flat circular spatula, and shallowly fried till golden-brown before it is poped into a coal-fueled drum with extremely high temperature, to crispify the skin of the pancake and make it less oily.

Waiting for the day they will try Romanian food. I really wanna see how they would react to slănină with onion 😂
You guys should really check out the dimsum and dumplings (soup, dry or pan fried) and baozi (buns with fillings) Also try the many different noodles like luosifen, beef noodles. Have a whole episode of eating dongbei and sze chuan cuisine (if u love spicy and stronger flavoured foods) Chinese hotpot and Chinese bbq. There are alot of things yet to be tried y'all
