Americans Try British Crackers and Cheese | Hovis, Jacob's, Sage Derby

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Our viewer, Richard, sent us a variety of crackers to try with cheese including Hovis, Jacob's and Bath Oliver. We found some Belton Farms cheese: Sage Derby, Port Wine Derby, and Double Gloucester with chive and onion. To add some variety we also brought out a few cream cheeses from Trader Joe's.

Ooh those cheeses look tasty! Yep, a little butter on the crackers would just take away any dryness. I love the wheatgerm crackers, and I'm partial to the buttery flakey ones too. My favourites are Cornish Wafers. I think Richard sent you some? The Hovis crackers shaped like loaves are like digestive biscuits. BTW digestives are great with butter and cheese too. Have a lovely weekend Ross, Tina, Finn and everyone here! Cheers 🍻

Hi Agranda. Yes, Richard did send us Cornish Wafers and I'm pretty sure we tried digestives with butter and cheese at one point too after viewers suggested it. Happy Friday and wishing you a great weekend too!

I love those butter puffs, they go with almost anything. Every once in a while I like to spread cream cheese on them and place some smoked salmon on top

Hovis wheatgerm bit too thin to butter easily break, your cream cheese spread really nice on hovis. Sage n onion nice one to have. The bath Oliver biscuits sold in Waitrose they more ideal thin layer butter, Jacobs choice grain good, butter puffs like hovis use cheese or spread as puffs like puff pastry can break OK if butter soft. Loved the side dip you made yourself Tina lovely idea. Thin slice ham some chutney on butter puffs nice or even on Jacobs choice grain.

The Hovis Digestives are nice as well, shaped like a loaf of bread. The only problem is they are very crumbly and fall apart easily.

Hi There, I am amazed you can pick up sage derby in California but I could never find it in Derby (born & raised in Derbyshire), plenty of Stilton but no sage derby 😀. Good video again, always enjoy seeing you both. If you are able to find it Orkney cheddar is extremely good.

Hi Jeff. We don't see it consistently, but pick it up when we find it. Funny you should mention Orkney Cheddar. We have some in the fridge, but haven't tried it yet. It's another one we have just seen occasionally.

Not going to be joining in with a cheese n bic eat along sadly…. 😥😥. I had a “new to me” soup flavour today - tomato based but with lots of different lentils and “bean things” in it…. Now I have had tomato n lentil and lentil on its own - but the mixed bean combo has had a very detrimental effect on my tum 🥺😪 you can guess the rest if you choose to! When you next try going all cheesy, cut up a spring onion into tiny pieces and sprinkle it into the cream cheese - game changer! Much love and enjoy your cheesing - I know how much you love cheeeeeeeese Gromit!

@@FinnLovesFoodthankyou …. Feeling a bit better now, but did a recce on the mysterious three bean ingredients in my soup….it was lentil, pinto and black eyed peas…. I did a bit of research and read on a USA Web MD site that both pinto and black eyed peas are good deal “higher ” in the fibre and roughage area but can cause digestive “discomfort” because they contain something called lectin 🤷‍♂️ and quote “can make you have a leaky gut or become ‘gassy’ unquote 😳😳😳😖😍and obvs, I must have a weak and puerile UK bodily constitution! Hovis loaves were my favourite type of bread, unfortunately you cannot get "real" Hovis anymore, the firm that has taken the name, do not make the original loaf. We pronounce basil (Bazzil not bayzil). 15:51
