Thank you, I will. The first time I had tried ‘ Lays ‘ crisps was in Canada 🇨🇦. As a Brit, I cannot tell how excited I was to eat a crisp and not puffed maize or corn. Chips in England are proper thick sliced pieces of potato ( no skins ) , deep fried in oil and immediately splashed / drowned with vinegar and salt shaken on top. I am old enough to remember them being wrapped in newspaper to soak up the grease lol. After the ‘ Iris Virus ‘ has cleared up, travel to the East End of London to sample ‘ pie, mash ‘ n ‘ liquor ‘ ( we pronounce liquor as ‘ likka ‘ - Before you freak out, liquor is parsley sauce. You are of course welcome to drink whatever you like, provided our pubs are open 😉. Xx

When it comes to Tayto, there's a whole story too it. There is actually two Tayto crisps companies. One in the Republic of Ireland and one in Northern Ireland. The Republic company just allows the other brand to exist. So the roast chicken was from the Northern Ireland company and the prawn cocktail skips were actually Irish. Here in Northern Ireland there's actually a friendly rivalry between the two brands as to which company has the better tasting world famous cheese and onion flavour.

The Prawn Cocktail Flavour you hit exactly on the head. Many people ASSUME that Prawn Cocktail flavoured crisps/chips/ Maise snacks contains ‘Prawn’, they DON’T. Prawn Cocktail flavour is actually the sauce flavour which in the UK IS Called ‘Marie sauce’ usually served with prawns & shrimp & possibly Lobster. It’s not too complicated to make at home, all it’s made from is approx 5 parts Mayonnaise and 1 part Tomato ketchup mixed together ( you can add a sprinkling of cayenne pepper to it if you want, but it has quite a nice tangy flavour as a basic sauce.

Hi guys I’m over here in England the monster munch is not just October there actually one of the best selling crisps all the time and the skips and the quavers and any crisps of that texture we tend to give to toddlers because they break down really easily so are less of a choking hazard but there not just for toddlers adults eat them two.

British cottage or shepherd's pie is nice with crushed crisps on top of the potato and grilled to make them extra crunchy. You can also add some cheese on top of the crisps. This is a slightly cheating way to get a crispy topping, works like a charm. (Use plain salted crisps). 👍

I don't know if I have this right, but here goes. British chips are chunks of potato deep fried. I always think that the American fries are always, thin, strips of potato. English chips (fries) are potatoes, cut length ways into strips about as thick as your finger. They should be fluffy inside when you eat them. Red potatoes are the best IMHO. For a little extra make a batter with flour and egg yolks. Dip the chips in the batter before you deep fry them. Don't cover all of the chip. Just a quick swizz round and drain off as much batter as possible.. Done this way is a more northern English thing. You could also try potato scallops. Slices of potato cut across, not the length of the potato. This time the cut should be, about half as thick. Cover the whole of the slice in egg yolk batter and deep fry. I know you baulk at kidney but I love it! Do you eat liver and onions? Fantastic with mashed potato. While we're on offal. I also like lambs hearts. I think if you eat an animal you should eat all of it! Oh yes! Have you tried tongue? Ox tongue is the best, it has a stronger flavour than pork tongue. It's possible to get tinned tongue but it's expensive. Are you feeling slightly sick reading this?

According to Wikipedia: Lay's acquired Walkers in 1989. Walkers produce and distribute a wide range of snacks, and crisp flavors include Cheese & Onion, Ready Salted, Salt & Vinegar. Walkers also makes Sensations-branded crisps in the UK. The logo used by Walkers is noticeably similar to the Lay's logo, featuring a red ribbon around a yellow sun, and derives from the Walkers logo introduced in 1990. The other Frito-Lay brands are also distributed through the Walkers label.

Walkers are only in UK & Ireland. Lays bought walkers in 1989. So lays own walkers. But walkers uk obviously have their own factories & flavours here in UK. The Pepsi co part is because Pepsi own lays- lays is a subsidiary of Pepsi under Frito lays. Yes uk uses a lot of potato in out crisps as we call them (rather than chips chips in uk are what you call fries). Probably because we grow a lot more potatoes than corn in uk.
