    "This has to be in London" by the way there's knifes all over the UK, there's a larger population of people in London than in most other cities in England so it's more likely to be in London if there's knife crime but pretty much all major cities and a lot of towns and villages have a lot of knifes as well.

    I've done two stints as a London motorcycle dispatch rider, more road rages than I can count. London traffic is savage, it's a game of cut up if you want to move and it's much more dangerous on a bike. A nurse said to me after one spill (hospital again) that they see a lot like me and did I know what the life expectancy was of a London dispatchie? I replied, 7 years, citing an article I'd read in Motorcycle News. She said more like 2.

Especially when as a woman you know there’s physically nothing you can do to separate them as they’re a lot stronger than you. I drove in New York in 1978. Maybe things have changed, but what I noticed was that about every third car was dented or bashed-in in some way. I did not conclude that these were the best drivers in the world! Besides, I suspect that none of you have driven in Rome or Paris where the goings-on are far more hectic than NY. And even they are tame compared to cities in Russia and India.

    There are 12.9 deaths on US roads compared to 5.1 deaths on UK roads per 100,000 drivers so statistically UK drivers are safer. Plus our roads are alot smaller and require alot more precision driving. Plus 96 % of Americans drive automatics compared to 98% of the UK drive manual (stick shift for you Americans) so we are technically better drivers because we have to change gear constantly while driving. Driving an automatic is like driving a clown car. We also have big cities and London has more people than New York and our roads in our cities are alot thinner and smaller so we have to be alot more vigilant while driving. The UK driving test is a lot more complicated than the US driving test so we have to be alot more competent than you before being allowed to drive. The UK roads in general are way smaller than the US roads and our country roads are notorious for being difficult to drive and are usually only one lane wide so you have to pull over to let other people pass on many occasions. If you add all this up I think you'll find that the people in the UK are better drivers than you in the US. In 2017 there were 40,000 deaths on US roads compared to 1700 on UK roads if you adjust this for population you'd expect 8000 deaths on UK roads. We are just better drivers than you, it didn't surprise me that you thought you were better drivers... That's the US all over, thinking you're better at everything than everyone else without any stats to back up your claim... But as usual the truth is you're not.

    In the UK we dont have self defence laws so fighting back will result in yourself getting arrested too

  • @BeeLZBeeb

    @BeeLZBeeb

    Жыл бұрын

    The law on self-defence is established through a combination of common law (the law developed through court decisions) and statute. The law on self-defence allows a person to use reasonable force to defend themselves or another, to protect property, to prevent crime or to apprehend a criminal offender. You cannot use self-defence in response to a civil infringement such as trespassing, or a noisy neighbour, it is only a defence if the act against you was criminal in nature. The common law gives guidance that violence used in self-defence must be exercised in accordance with the ‘rule of law’, and the ‘preservation of the Queen’s Peace.’ This essentially means that it can be used in the context of upholding a peaceful and law-abiding society. The relevant statutory laws are: Criminal Damage Act 1971 - This provides a defence to destroying another person’s property where the destruction occurs in the context of protecting your own property, or the property of another, which was in immediate need of protection. Criminal Law Act 1967 - This establishes that a person has the right to apprehend another person who they have reasonable cause to suspect has committed or is committing an arrestable offence. This is also known as a ‘citizen’s arrest.’ Section 76 of the Criminal and Justice Act 2008 - This provides a gloss on how the test for self-defence should be interpreted. When considering whether a use of force is lawful self-defence, the court must answer two questions: Was the use of force necessary in the circumstances as the defendant believed them to be? Was the force used reasonable in the circumstances?
