The UK Office is the original. Both are good - quite different from one another. I prefer the UK one, but love the US one, too.

Yeah, I love both. But definitely different shows with the same name Office UK will always be the classic. But I enjoyed US too. Totally different though. Like comparing apples to oranges if they were both called oranges lol

No one refers to any other version of The Office as 'the original' and gets away with it lol 'The Office' (which is the UK original) was written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, and was based on the Ricky's experiences working in an office in his younger years. The US version was first aired in 2005, and was made off the back of the huge success of the original version of The Office, which had just won the golden globe for best television series: musical or comedy in 2004. Ricky Gervais made a fortune off the American version because he was an owner of the intellectual rights to it. The Office is a British creation, and every thing that followed it owes it's inception to the original, which you are now watching. Enjoy lads.

The phone call that Brent made at the end was to "Tim, the speaking clock". We used to be able to ring to find out the time. If you don't know this then you may miss the joke where he asks if anyone has got the time.

I haven't watched the US office much but it seems contrived compared to this. Americans like things they can understand 😅. In the UK version the comedy is more pervasive - it fills every pore and you find yourself laughing at the littlest things. That's what I love about it: the subtlety. Thanks for a great reaction!

Will always prefer the original but the US version does hold a special place Michael is something else 😂 The Office is dry, satirical comedy which Americans tend not to be able to grasp as naturally as us Brits, but you're doing a good job.

Can you write that down and clarify it for everyone? I mean, that you weren't implying the original version was the US series? God speed, because it is potentially damaging to my soul, and I am not even British. Such an American thing to say, even if you have trouble structuring your sentences, phrasing.

There is a small scene/clip in the credits, so don’t cut it short too early.

The original Office wins hands down and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Brit. I just couldn't continue watching the U.S version as it's a poor imitation of Ricky's original. Even with Steve Carrel who is genuinely hilarious it was still sub-par.

Unbelievably cringeworthy. Not for everyone, the comedy isn't immediately apparent and no prompting or canned laughter. One of the funniest shows ever.
