Love your videos, it’s so nice to see the realities and that some days can be disappointing and a bit frustrating. But as you said, that happens everywhere in the world when we travel. Thank you for appreciating our funny, quirky and outright beautiful wee island.

Going to London only is like reaching the door of a club and not going in, and thinking you've been to that club.

Fun fact, when Big Ben was recast, it was made in the same place in the uk as the liberty bell. The first Big Ben cracked early on just like the liberty bell.

To be fair idk why we love the liberty bell so much. I have actually seen the liberty bell, it’s exactly what you expect it to be, a bell with a crack in it. Not that epic lol. Sometimes I feel like America forces things to be historical lol.

Whenever I go to London, I always end up shouting street names, because for me, its like a real life Monopoly board! 😆 And I also got stopped by staff twice in London - once in the Ritz, I wanted to see where they served afternoon tea, but my coat fell open and they saw I was wearing jeans, and in Purdeys gun shop - I was trying to sneak a peak into the room where you get invited if you're buying a shotgun of theirs, but are not allowed otherwise. Oh well, at least I got in Harrods too. Really enjoyed last night. Thanks for doing the live, and keep clapping back! 😉

Thanks for watching monopoly in the USA is based of Atlantic City NJ, boardwalk park place, I actually never knew it was different until an episode of only fools and horses they was calling out names and I was like “ that’s different “ lol

When my children were small they were invited to harrods to see the santa claus. The morning included the visit,food and a couple of hours browsing in the shop prior to opening. They got a harrods bear and a tree decoration with a printed picture of the harrods store on it.

"I like to steal at home too" 😅🤣😂 I got suspended from primary school, when we all went to Buckingham Palace, so ive never seen the changing of the guard either. We are optimistic about our weather, and always hope its a nice day. Wimbledon took years to finally get roofs on 2 courts out of all the tennis courts. I'm not a mayo fan either, i don't get it. I'm the same with beans Tiffany is your wife, so i won't do any English sausage jokes. lol

I've only just found your channel today and I have already watched a couple of your videos. One thing I will say is that if you ask 95% of Brits we will say London is a tourist trap. It's the place that's always talked about by Americans as if it's the only place within the UK to visit. The truth is London is a very big, cosmopolitan city that's geared towards mass tourism and to take your money. Yes, there's some things worth seeing there but London isn't the UK or even England. There's so much more to be explored. To get a better idea of the beauty, the culture, the history of the UK you need to travel around the UK a lot more. Places like the lake district, the Yorkshire dales and the countryside in general to see the beauty of the English countryside. See the small, rural villages that have hundreds of years of history like the tiny Lincolnshire village I grew up in has a grade 1 listed parish church that dates back to 1068. There's also a house close to where I live that dates back to the 1300s that even today is just someone's house. It's not a museum, it's just a family's home. Once you get off the beaten track you can still find historic stuff everywhere but it is a lot quieter, more peaceful and you won't be herded amongst a million other tourists. Like you said about castles in one of your very recent videos, they are often just lying there in the middle of nowhere. This is true of many historic things and not only castles. I hope you visit the UK again soon and don't fall into the London trap again. Get a hire car and drive around the country more. Go to cities like Bath, York and my local Lincoln with so much history but also places like the Cotswolds which have some of the prettiest little villages amongst beautiful countryside. Visit the village pubs, go for walks along the extensive network of public historic footpaths that so often go through beautiful countryside. I like the enthusiasm I've seen you both show towards the UK in the other videos I've watched so far and I will be watching future videos on what I hope will be an enjoyable journey on learning so much more about the UK.

I agree, I just skipped the Queen's Guard part because it is just so touristy. If I had a day in the UK the queen and big ben wouldn't be close to the top of my list. Bath and York are solid shouts now they've seen London they should compare to somewhere else.

I don't think that many Americans appreciate just how much the UK was on the Front Line during World War II. Just take a look at the figures for civilian war fatalities on home soil in the two countries and you will get the picture: USA Hawaii: 68 (Pearl Harbor Attack) Alaska (Aleutian Islands Campaign, 1942 - 1943): 10 The 48 Contiguous States: 6 (Balloon Bomb, Oregon) TOTAL: 84 UNITED KINGDOM 70,000+ (Largely due to German bombing raids, V1 and V2 attacks) (If you pro-rata that up to take into account the larger population of the USA it would equal nearly 250,000 American civilian casualties.) Now do you understand? 🙂

Americans is taught propaganda that America is number 1 we spanked Germany it couldn’t have been won without us, now I will say, in the pacific theater, this was most likely true, but in Europe, from everything I’ve seen, the British from the west and the soviets from the east was over loading the Germans, they was spread to thin, having troops as far north as Finland and Norway, and south to North Africa, they started fighting the strongest of the allies, aka the winter, soviets and Brit’s cutting off supply chains, this was devastating an already spread to thin army. America just really insured and sped up something that seemed for sure. If anything the extra force, helped from drawing out and already bloody war, but it was far from the helpless situation that America turned the tide of as presented by America today.

The 'blown up' remark on St Paul's Cathedral is a direct reference to the peak of the Luftwaffe bombing on London just before Xmas day in 1940 when many of the buildings in the City of London were hit and destroyed. The fire was so intense and it turned into a fire storm. The bombing also damaged the pipework, cutting most of the water supply. Consequently, the fire fighters could do nothing but to watch the city burnt. Then on the morning of 23rd, amongst the ruins and chaos, they saw the great dome of St Paul's emerging from the black smoke, apparently still standing and intact while most of the buildings around it were burnt out and destroyed. Every now and then, they still hold a remembrance service at St Paul's for its deliverance!

It is not called 'Bucking Ham' Palace. It is pronounced Buckingem Palace. It always amazes me why visitors make a beeline for London. It is the last place on earth I would go to. Go to King's Cross or Euston Station. Get a train to somewhere nice!

It may well more be around the very, very expensive jewellery, which they don't want recorded for obvious reasons... We liked harrods a lot we was in there for at least two hours looking at everything, we wanted to spend more time in the food hall but we had just finished that breakfast and had dinner reservations that night but we will definitely be back there to try that 😄.

I have lived in London for 43 years and never seen the changing of the guard, it is perhaps strange what you don't bother with when you live in the city/place in question.

St Pauls wasn't a legitimate target. Doubtless the Nazis didn't target it specifically because they didn't want the RAF to retaliate by attacking their historic landmarks. That didn't work out too well in the end. They did liberally drop incendiaries, to start fires that would then help night bombers find their targets. "Keep calm & Carry on" was not actually used during WW2. Though it's claimed to have been devised then, slogans & posters were more practical: "make do & mend", "loose lips sink ships"....

Afternoon Tea is not the same at every venue you eat at. It would seem that at that particular Tea House you visited, they just happened to use mayonnaise in their choice of sandwiches. I have had it about 5 times, and do not recall there being mayonnaise used other than an egg mayo sandwich

As someone who lives in London and who has travelled the world, London has some of the best food available anywhere in the world! So either they got unlucky choosing bad restaurants/vendors etc, or are picky.

We tend to refer to cathedrals as cathedrals, but strictly ' cathedral' is short for "cathedral church" ( i.e. a church with a a Bishop's throne in it), so there's nothing really wrong to referring to cathedral as a church.

Of course there is, but as a Londoner myself, the “tourist trap” is full of interesting history, great architecture, amazing restaurants, shopping, and fun things to do. Just because you don’t like London doesn’t mean others shouldn’t visit it.

When things go right, you were expecting something and it usually disappoints. When thing are spontaneous you get bonus that just flows with enjoyment and can sometimes be much better as it's not planned.

Sustained rain in London is rare but just recently we are in a low-pressure area and the weather is misbehaving.

We are having unusual weather here in Florida as well, not enough rain and too hot to fast, 98 f 99 f at the end of the week. We don’t usually see that until end of July first of August.

So in the uk you guys poor beans all over a piece of toast the beans and toast was served separately in this cuz it was a full English. So I took a spoon full of beans and put on the dry toast.

St Paul's was a beacon of hope during the war , you should look into the rationing the people had during war time , all efforts were put into defeating nazi Germany we were never going to give in or surrender . I missed your stickey toffee pud video so will watch later 😊❤

I noticed that your “traditional English breakfast” contained a hash brown. I can’t remember when hashbrowns started appearing in the “full English”, but it wasn’t that long ago. It is actually an American import. A traditional “traditional English“ would have fried bread.

One really must stop being offended about this "Traditional English Breakfast" thing. I'm from Ulster & an English breakfast if served to me would feel like I was getting half a traditional fry up. Probably the same in Scotland. My Ulster fry would contain soda farl & potato fwrl & it better have veggie roll. A Scottish breakfast would have Lorne sausage & Link sausage & Potato scone. The Welsh would have something different & in Ireland it's VBlack & White pudding. As I'm sure the fried breakfast became a staple throughout the 2 islands just call it a Traditional fry up Laddie. An English breakfast leaves me Hungry because its far from a Full Ulster Full Scottish or a Full Welsh. A bit of fried bread & a Hash brown only make it closer to a traditional breakfast & where is the fried apple ? No pork should be eaten with out apple sauce slice supplement. Henry the Viii the certainly wouldn't of allowed a Suckling Pig be cooked without an apple in its gob !!

English breakfast is ok but you can't have it everyday. Beans on toast is a very English thing but it is awful and its cheap and don't blame your wife not liking it. In Harrods. most of the people hang around at the basement area where the food section and food court is because that is where it has stuff most of the people can afford to buy. It's not unusual that the real customers of Harrods spend up to £250k per shopping trip when they visit the store. In the old days before everyone uses credit cards, a lot of the wives with rich Middle East husbands would walk into Harrods with 2 bodyguards with one carrying a box with £500k cash in it and they did and still do spend half or a million pounds in one shopping trip like nothing! Say a nice and pretty outdoor coat for a child of 6 to 8 years old would easily set you back £3000 in Harrods. However, It does do an annual sales around Xmas time and that is when the middle class people go there, trying to get a real bargain! In London, one should always visit the historical palaces like Hampton Court and the Tower of London for crown jewels and the art galleries. In the evening, one should try to go to a musical or an opera if interested.

London has half the annual rainfall of New York and less than Paris, Madrid, Sydney etc. If London was a US state it would rank as the tenth driest !!It gets grey during the Winter months as we have very little snow due to the Gulf Stream effect which runs up the West side of the UK and that is why we have Palm Trees as far up as Scotland It's nice and Sunny and 76 F at the moment and due to get warmer this week. So believe me it's a myth that it always raining !!!

Not true pal before last year the most rainy days we've had in the UK was around 150, last year the record was broken with 171 rainy days so the average isn't 167 when the record in year was 150 ish.

Just Guards. The King's/Queen's guard is a job they do. Most of the time they aren't even doing it. If the King's somewhere else, they're the palace guard.

Wherever he is they are still his guards.You can't change the title because he isn't there. What your saying is that if the King is not present The KING's TROOP Royal Horse Artillery doesn't exist.

Yup it kinda worked for you but usually we eat beans on toast or cheese on toast with a knife and fork as it can get messy. Tbh, anything cooked on toast we use a knife and fork and uncooked stuff on toast we use hands.

Nothing wrong with using your hands when it's smaller bits of toast. Don't think I've ever eaten beans on toast with a knife and fork except to cut it into smaller bits, especially when it's with a breakfast. It's messier with a fork as the beans just keep falling off

Don't emphasise the HAM in Buckingham. It's BUCKING UM. Anything ending in HAM is usually pronounced UM. I don't know why there was so much Mayo on everything !!?? I've had afternoon tea and NEVER had Mayo on the sandwiches ! Why are you eating the beans on toast with your hands !!?? You should use a knife and fork.

As an Englishman, I really can't understand why anybody would want to visit Buckingham Palace, it's just a huge, ugly house. It's not even that old, probably built less than 250 years ago.

The workaround is what you saw. There’s no functional reason to change guards like that really. It’s just done like that for tradition and tourists, They could just arrive in a vehicle.

So depends on what type of Floridian you are so if you come from the Spanish side it be something like a cafe con leche and a guava and cheese pastry, if you come from the southern side, it would be a southern sausage, grits, eggs, biscuit and sugar cane syrup.

I was waiting for this comment, I got it from there, but there was a few signs that , it wasn’t a real deal breakfast but idk. It wasn’t bad my no means, mainly because most English breakfast is prepackaged stuff anyway, but it didn’t seem like a “ breakfast “ place you know?
