My wife and I relocated to Morelia a year and a half ago. She's Mexican and I'm from Reno, Nevada. Going to Mexico is the best move I've ever made. The cost of living, the culture, the beauty of the people, the architecture, and the relaxed lifestyle, makes life here special! We haven't been victimized by any crime, nor we been hustled by being hit with higher prices because of being 'foreigners'. I'm sure it happens if you're not careful or watch your surroundings, but hasn't been a problem for us. We live VERY well, in a large, beautiful home on my Social Security income, with plenty left over monthly. We're able to eat out any time we like and can enjoy life, far more then we could in the states. VIVA MEXICO!

I made the move 6 months ago to MX. Best decision I would ever make. Loving retired life.
As a retired American I can give you a bit of perspective on why Americans are leaving. First remember the baby boomer generation is in or coming upon retirement age. Many don’t have pensions as the union jobs were exported and most rely on social security. For many, they may be lucky to receive $1,000 per month or $12000/year. That’s why we also see people living in their cars. Out of their social security check they have to give $170 back to the government for health insurance. It’s a sad situation for a lot of humans.
Another resplendent video! Much like the mezcal masters, you two pour your heart and soul into your craft, and it shows ✨ Thank you for sharing your vision with the world; more than ever before, people need to see other humans enjoying life and being happy! I lived in SMA for 7 months. I can live easily in Mexico so long as it’s in the mountains. Any other cities similar to SMA as far as climate and expats?
@ronaldojohnny7774
Жыл бұрын
Hi there! (: Yes! I would say Mexico thankfully is a large enough country that there are a wild variety of climates to choose from. Generally speaking, you want to be in the central part of Mexico, such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Queretaro, since the elevation is so high up thanks to the mountains from both sides of the country and with the high plains and valleys in the middle that made the climate so cool and not as hot like in the coasts where its so humid and hot! If you want to be in a place that has a large expat community and good climate, I would recommend 3 places, no ranking. Guadalajara have a large American and European community and its easily have some of the most beautiful people of Mexico, especially the women. I would say its relatively dangerous depending where you are, since its city has a large amount of cartels, but as long as you mind your business, keep your head down, avoiding to look for trouble, and not going out in a creepy neighborhood especially at night, the chances are you will be safe! I would also say Mexico City too sine the city is home to so many different people from all over the Americas, and has so many resources, food, and things I don't think many others in Mexico can't find nowhere else. The climate, being 7,000 feet above sea level, is so cool and you can easily enjoy nature just about anywhere. The infrastructure of the city, is amazing! The metro, the sidewalks, the nature in the city, the hospitals, top class! Queretaro is by far the best city in Mexico, and is only 45 minutes driving from SMA, its ranking place the city as the 2nd best quality of life after Monterrey, and its the fastest growing city in Mexico! If you need any help or would like to book a consultation, I would be more than happy to help you!

I had been coming to Baja for decades to beach camp and surf and I fell in love with the genuinely warm, happy and helpful people along with the amazing healthy food and culture a long time ago. So I moved here last year from the LA/Ventura area and my quality of life is better than I could ever have imagined. Everything from housing to food is inexpensive and very affordable and I can walk or take a short bike ride to most everywhere I need to go. I have a fish taco stand that I walk to at least a few times a week where a fresh caught fish taco con todo costs $1.37us and another favorite place with tacos al pastor con todo for $14 pesos each! I have tortlleria down the block and an organic fruit/juice and vegetable stand across the street with all locally run mercados and businesses in my neighbor hood where everyone is smiling and after asking my name they remember me. There are a few "Big Box" type stores like in the US if you need something special like Jiffy crunchy peanut butter, but you'll pay for it. There is no mistake I'm a blond haired hazel eyed gringo but they still treat me like family. I have a car but I really only use it to drag my surfboard and me to the beaches or the malecon that's 3 miles away where there is always something entertaining to do. Whole families with the kids and grandparents in tow come down to listen local bands, socialize, eat and dance into the evenings. BTW- Since the beginning of the year I have only filled up my car four times so far. Don't wait, the time never seems to be just right. Buena suerte!🤷♂😎🏄🌮🥥🍯
