American vs. Canadian Self-isolation…WHO’s Better Prepared?

Now that my American Friend and I are banished from seeing each other because we can’t cross the border, we decided to go remote and compare what our lives have turned into now in self-isolation, as well as what Canada and the Unites States are doing about the pandemic. Really though, this was just a way to pass the time, and we hope you can use this to do the same!

This is not true. It is not a metal juice tin that requires airflow. The bag does not require a second hole as it is a bag and can change its shape without requiring extra air inside it. After the pour when you stand it back up air can then flow in.

@@JosephD There is a bit of slop when the bag is full but if you make the hole in the bag smaller and pinch the back of the top of the bag with you thumb and index finger and the other fingers around the handle when pouring, it won't slop over. I can easily pour it with one hand.

I have a few relatives that live in apartments or condos. Life now is a little tougher for them without the easy access to safe, outdoor space like a backyard. I've spring cleaned the backyard, set up the all the patio furniture, and enjoy a little sun on the rare occasion we get any (lots of rain lately). The population density is lower in the suburbs, and I can take the dog out twice a day and not get close to others. As well, my wife always has a honey-do list to keep me occupied. Honestly, I am really loving being at home and isolated. I love being home. l am a total hermit. I HATE parties and stress out when I have to go to them. I hate bars, dance clubs etc.. I hate dancing, loud music, crowds. I am a nervous wreck at concerts or any large event. I do not like people touching me. It drives me nuts when people "close talk" or touch me or lean on me. I have a coworker that does not understand personal space and I cringe when I see her. I don't want to insult her by telling her to back off because she is VERY sensitive but I literally cringe when she hangs on me. I don't mind hugging my family or anything, that is different, but other people... I'm just not into it at all. It's not a germy thing, I just don't like it. I bought the Coffee Crisps online for my husband and he liked them. I thought they were ok. They seemed very dry? Maybe they were old? I didn't check the dates on them.

My boyfriend of 3 and half years lives in Barrie, Ontario and I live in Indiana in the U.S. I love your videos. We always compare all things Canadian and American and we have a blast together. I'm missing him so much right now with the border closure. The video chat thing cracked me up. We had a similar experience last week! I love your channel. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have been home for three weeks now, I had strep and my doc asked me to self isolate for a week, then the department I work for told everybody to telework the second week, and I just finished week 3. The reality that this may last months does start to sink in after 3 weeks, I do look forward to seeing how you are after three weeks.

Love your videos ! You guys should do a cooking video but give each other ready mixed baking with metric vs. Imperial instructions. Or maybe compare US vs Can scratch tickets, Compare clothing sizing between US and Canada. Try Us vs.Canadian Domestic beer brands.,US tap water vs.Can tap water, US hotdogs vs.Canadian brand hotdogs. Just some ideas. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Love the videos, glad you were able to do this one! Also your from Burlington! Ha. Ditto. I wasn't expecting that, would have figured closer to the border south of Stoney Creek. I have a few episode suggestions when this is all over if you're interested. First you mentioned cereal.. what about 2 parts? Ep1 exclusive stuff that is only available in CAN vs US. Ep2 Comparing same brands cross border (Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops, etc). Final suggestion since you had them out.. Girl Scout vs Girl Guide cookies :) In the meantime this was a great start. You could just get together digitally, talk about current events, historical stuff, whatever might be interesting! Right now i don't think any of us are overly picky.. we're all in the same isolated boat(s)!

Feb 2021: I didn't buy TP till August, and I did NOT panic buy anything. I typically buy extra when stuff is on sale and keep supplies on hand always. Some of my emergency supplies are lower than I like them to be, including gloves, baking soda, vinegar and parchment paper. A few items are harder to find so I do grab a bit extra when I see something I use. We're still cooped up at home, to an extent. No change for me, since I'm pretty much an indoor kitty and it's the dead of Winter.

The milk pours better from the bag if you trim the other top corner too. Just a small trim. It shouldn’t be as big as the cut on the pouring side.
