I learned my final lesson to avoid pizza pizza, about 10 years ago. Over a ten year time span, I got food poisoning from two different locations, and the final time a giant hunk of plastic, was covered over by the cheese. Never had it again.

My high school server pizza slices from pizza pizza so i use to eat it alot because it was cheap and i only had 5 dollars a day i had enough for a slice and a drink and still had money left over and that allowed me to get more expensive at the end of the week lol

Fresh Pizza Pizza dressed up nice based on how you order it is actually really good. Also depends by the store. Slices sitting around are gross unless they're from a specialty vendor and not a store. Not the same product but the Pizza Pizza vendors at concerts and events actually serve a slightly different product and it's better and the turn over keeps it fresh.

Here's the thing, you can get a fresh pizza at aldis and cook it yourself and it's so much better than little caesars. Local places are always the best. Why not compare with a local NY style place?

@@happyfreeky - perhaps you are right, Or both of us. I certainly recall and know of Little Caesars existence. I certainly remember Pizza Pizza starting to pop up everywhere. But perhaps pizza piza pre-existed longer than Little Caesars with a few locations, then franchiseing really took off. Main point is that "it was so long ago". Great conversation and points of view. Definitely some food for thought.

Although it has been 30 years since I was in Canada, I have eaten pizza in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton, Quebec City, Montreal, Moncton, Halifax, and Sydney. The best I tasted was in Sydney across the street from the Civic Center.

im from Winnipeg MB, but when papa johns finally came here it was a life changer (prior when I would go to grand forks, ND I'd never not get papa johns)

I miss Swedish style Pizza. Very thin crust but huge in size. Also you can basically have like 48 different version. Anything from classic cheese and literally anything else. Like Steak, Kebab meat, ground beef, tuna, ham, tons of sauces.. I am not kidding when I say easily over 40+ variants. I haven't found a single Pizza I like in Canada.

Pizza NOVA destroyer of all pizza chain competition in terms of quality and especially attention to simple details.

I've always loved going to the old school mom and pop pizza joints . Great vids , thanks !

That Pizza Pizza pizza looked really good! And if it's Canada's worst as someone else said, I can only imagine how delicious other Canadian pizzas must be! 😋

The best pizza to come out of Canada from a chain is "Red Swan". It used to only be in western Canada only. I had always heard the best pizza in Canada came from Alberta. It's now scattered around Ontario. There's one in Oakville opening soon.

I don't know if they still have this but I used to go there during my lunch break at school, order the two slices and pop special and ask for extra sauce. I was so good.

With Pizza Pizza, they pre-make the dough in batches at a factory in Ontario & ship it out to all their franchises. The dough is not made fresh in store.

Pizza Pizza is literally the worst pizza in the country...no doubt.

Thats like little ceasars here…terrible…dominoes is slightly better then pappa johns and then pizza hut..i like pizza hut….here in western nc we dont have papa johns but i remember eating it in south florida..it was decent pizza but too much sauce…i really like dominoes feta white pizza its really good…and little ceasars is pretty bad jaja

pizza pizza is actually my favourite and in my home town of Windsor that is known for its pizza, this chain stands along side some of the best in the city, thank you for showing the americans what they are missing

The creamy garlic dipping sauce is always the highlight, pizza is just a vessel. FYI you can but 3 packs of the pizza pizza creamy garlic in the grocery store, the cups are much larger aswell.

My dad brought home free pizza from boston pizza one time from his work and I can't believe how bad it is for a restaurant that charges like 20 bucks for a medium pizza. In terms of chains i'd say defiantly double double, little ceasers, 2 for 1 and pizza hut are worse then pizza pizza. Dominios used to be really bad too, but I had it not long ago and I don't know if they changed something but I thought it was actually really good.

I live in Fort Erie and I would sooner go to Bella, Barrel, DaVinci, etc. But pizza pizza is better than Zias and little Caesars IMO.

Buddy’s Pizza in Detroit. Detroit style is awesome and driving distance from Ontario.

America has so many different styles, NY style, Detroit style, Chicago style, st. Louis style.....

Not many know what a panzerotti is. My favorite is in Windsor ON, Sarducci's.. It's a giant football sized pizza pocket, deep fried and served with a meat sauce. Just the bread and sauce is amazing, I recommend the large sauce :)

Walk-in specials are usually cheaper pizzas that have to be ordered in person. They usually have less cheese and toppings to make up for the price.

I enjoy watching his reaction too our Canadian ways n food. I definitely subbed really hope too see this become a regular thing here.

I prefer this small Italian place near my house they've been in business for almost 60-70 years, freshest Pizza, and unlike Pizza Pizza their staff don't have massive attitudes. plus they dont burn the pizza. P.S-Why Pizza Pizza, why not Pizza Nova.

Pizza Pizza use to be so much better 35 years ago it was the first to introduce 30 mins or its free policy, fun fact..... The chain was founded by Michael Overs, who opened the first location on December 31, 1967, at the corner of Wellesley and Parliament Streets in Toronto. He owned the chain until his death in 2010.

Pizza Pizza was my fave when I lived in Ottawa. There isn’t one near me now. So sad.

You guys should do a weird Buffalo slice episode, they put on crazy toppings like pasta and Buffalo wings. The Buffalo crust is quite different as well.

I live within a ring of pizza restaurants. Pizza Pizza is one of them. It’s right next door. I always walk the extra kilometre down the road to Pizzaville or Domino’s. That says something right there. Heck, there’s a new Papa Johns near my office and would rather go there.

Amen! Domino’s is to pizza what Taco Bell is to authentic Mexican. Nothing like a Lou Malnati deep dish or Pizzeria Uno. 👍🏻❤️. That being said, I’ll eat practically ANY pizza in a pinch. It’s one of those foods that’s just good no matter how bad it is. 😁

That Little Caesar's/Pizza! Pizza! Was so super confusing to me when I was a kid! I feel you! And I didn't realize that walk-in specials weren't common, maybe not even a thing outside Canada! Imagine!

If you never grew up on Brio, chances are pretty slim you’ll like it. Pizza Nova is my favourite fast food pizza. Thin crust, well done 👍

Brio is an acquired taste. Took me about 5 tries before I started to like it.

Never once have I as a Canadian craved Pizza Pizza. It's our worst pizza chain by a mile.

My friend is Italian and he makes his own pizza. Sometimes the crust is from scratch but most times he buys it from an Italian bakery. Let me tell you by far home made pizza by an Italian is the best! I usually can eat half a chain store pizza, but I had one slice of home made and I could barely talk or breath afterwards it was just that good. My friend jokes and says his pizzas “ kick my head in” and yes they do. I have gotten off the training wheels and actually can eat more then one slice now.

The best thing about Pizza Pizza are the chicken bites (with sweet Thai dipping sauce). I'll occasionally have a Hawaiian slice. Other than that, I seek pizza elsewhere.

I'm from Saskatchewan, live 30 miles from the city of Moose Jaw, I love Family pizza, it's a take out place only, but it's so good , my favorite is Honey Garlic Chicken, and it's 2 for one, take a road trip out here and try it.

Im from Norway and my favourite is Dominos, sad thing is that they will likely leave Norway. We really don't have a lot of foreign chains of any sorts besides BK, McDonalds and Subway.

Umm, Little Caesars was founded by Mike Ilitch, and it was a huge risk. He and his wife, Marian, spent their entire life savings opening the doors to their pizza place on May 8, 1959, and that original location on Cherry Hill Road in Garden City, Michigan, is still there and still serving customers. LIttle Caesars didn't come to Canada until 1969, 10 years later.

I am Canadian and i avoid Pizza Pizza at all cost. It's like "here, try Canada's most process style pizza and tell me what you think"

Best place for pizza in Toronto is a place in the east end called The Real McCoy. Their dough is homemade and they only use fresh ingredients. They're also known for their burgers...

There might be a maple leaf on lots of logos in Canada but it is nothing in compared to how many Stars and Stripes you see around the U.S

When I lived in Niagara falls there was a pizza pizza behind my apartment building, it was cheap fresh and flavourless.

I assumed Pizza Pizza was just Little Ceasars under a different name. "Pizza Pizza" was a trade slogan of Little Ceasars because you got 2 horrid pizzas for what you paid for a single good real pizza elsewhere. I didn't try because Little Ceasars is the worst food and a disgrace to call it pizza, along with Dominoes Edit: I paused the video and commented, the 2 seconds back to the video and he said the same thing I did about Little Ceasars and Pizza Pizza, lol

pizza is about 15% better than LC, and you have more options, all while still being at a decent price, but it's not great pizza. LC however never tries to sell itself as being more than edible cardboard. Cheap and fast are why you go there. It's a little more honest about it's lack of quality than PP.

Ok so we don't have Pizza Pizza out west. Our version of Pizza Pizza in the 80s and 90s was Panago (formerly Panagopoulous Pizza). BUT, Cineplex opened up limited Pizza Pizza locations in some of their theatres a decade ago and I used to work in one. We only made 3 varieties though, plain cheese, pepperoni, or a basic veggie.

That pizza looks raw . My parents opened two carry out pizzerias for over 25 years and I would have been fired as their own daughter for sending out a pizza that looked like that ! Yuck. But the dipping sauce looked interesting.

I actually really like brio, wish they sold it in the US

Lol... It amazes me that this even needs to be explained. Pizza Pizza is ok, but that creamy garlic dipping sauce takes it to another level. Pro tip: Always ask for it well done, cheese just slides off o.O

Not to date myself, but during my yearly trip to downtown Toronto from Sudbury to visit the head shops along Young St for new posters and t-shirts, and Sam's, A&As and The World's Biggest Bookstore and those sadly missed superstores music and books, along with a stroll through the Eaton Center, for lunch I would invariably hit Pizza Pizza for a slice of Hawaiian and a can of Pepsi for ... $2. My, the prices have changed LOL

is pizza pizza an Ontario thing? i've lived in New Brunswick and Alberta, never heard of it until this video, or that brio pop. Panago is my favorite pizza.

It's in Nova Scotia and BC too. It originated in Toronto though.

The best chain pizza fi you even call it chain is Costco pizza. Their pizza is something else and I've pizza tried from everywhere.

Costco is probably the best, low-cost slice of pizza from a chain store. It's cheap, huge, tasty, and usually generously topped. Is it a heart attack on a plate? Yes, but what's not to like about a pepperoni slice which, after eating, you could just about pack wheel bearings with the leftover grease...?

Costco Canada or US? The Canadian Costco tastes and looks like frozen pizza. Why do you think it's so cheap? I think they hand make it in the US.

Costco pizza is absolutley absolutely disgusting you can actually taste cardboard.

My Italian friend offered me a Brio many years ago. He told me it’s a specialty coke from Italy. I didn’t like it either. You have to be Italian to appreciate it I guess!

Brio is not the best chinotto , San Pellegrino is tastier and not as sweet

a good pizza chain in Ontario only is called Topper's Pizza - they make good pizza. Originally known as Mr Topper's based out of Sudbury Ontario.
