It's so sad that they can tell you that the shark attack her but no one mention that the boat guy save her from not getting eating completely by the shark.

Did you notice near the end, the shark rolled it's eyes as the news lady said that shark encounters there are rare?

There is the problem some places, however, where they actually feed the sharks, etc. in order to get them to come around for tourist attraction. So... if that is still happening, then.... there are people training sharks to be man eaters. Just a thought.

Winning the damn lottery jackpot is rare. Going into the ocean and being attacked by a shark, not so much.

@@cecarblanco9933 ya you gotta put things into perspective. Of course it’s all rare but it happens more then you think if you count all those people that don’t even report the attack. One this is certain, it’s getting more frequent

Having been scuba diving in TCI i can tell you shark encounters are not rare. I saw multiple each dive. But if you leave them alone they will do the same. Sucks she lost her foot but id bet she got to close for the sharks comfort.

Read that was probably a Caribbean reef shark responsible. Didn't think they could bite off a limb as a tiger or a bull could.

Because she was a noteworthy recent female Yale grad who was athletically dependent on using her feet as a competitive feature. Having not seen her, I would also bet that she was an attractive blonde. Otherwise, it's just a somewhat common thing. If you or I got something chomped off by an animal, we'd probably just be dead from blood loss and lack of attention.
