Would be interesting to hear how much money he wants for each of the cars. I am guessing he is still asking far too much, when you listen to his sales pitch about each vehicle as if it were brand new. He mentions a few times that he has someone interested in a vehicle, my bet is that he is asking far more than the condition of each warrants. Perhaps this is why they are all still sitting there, either asking too much or really does not want to sell them due to nostalgic reasons of his own.

@@yeahright302 rule and point number one is simply it's their stuff if they don't want to do anything with their stuff then they don't have to. Basically I can already tell you that this Robbie guy and his dad are literally a couple of pack rats. I used to live near a guy that had 12 acres and he must have had literally a hundred cars on that damn property cars of all kinds he had regular crap cars he had sports cars pickup trucks fuck at one point he had a bus this guy wouldn't even give you a piece of sheet metal you could offer him $10 look even back when my dad was growing up in the seventies yeah the very same guy you could offer him like 5 or 10 bucks for a piece of metal and he would talk about how nope I might need that someday, when I was a kid he would say the same thing. The only time I was able to work out a deal with that guy was I had a mower for sale he loves to buy mowers he offered up it was either a Vespa or some sort of moped that he wanted trade even price a hundred bucks I decided to take the hundred bucks kind of wish now I would have taken the moped and or Vespa. but yeah based on Robbie's characteristics he can tell you every story behind the car he can tell you roughly when it was there if not even give you exact times and dates the damn thing showed up he can tell you how and why they never bothered to sell it. And for the most part it was they had enough money and they were good old boys and they didn't really care he's just not really going to come out and actually say that. I know these types they have some of the most interesting properties ever and yet a lot of what's ruining places like this isn't really a matter of the car is rotting it's a matter of assholes snobby pricks showing up in the area trying to get the code department and everything else or the city or county on these people about their property looking like crap whatever blah blah if you don't like it don't fucking move in the area!! Whatever they have, they'd rather watch it turn to dust than sell it. The father was the main hoarder. Now the son is in charge and willing to part with things. I had a 1970 AMC Rebel Machine in 1990 with a manual & 3.91 gears a 390 polished & blueprinted was a bit to powerful for the car, it twisted the front of the chassis where it split the front window post and box frame connection, I still remember that rumbling sound! Also a AMC Javelin 6 Cyl I restored in 1978 for my best friend that needed a car, And also drove for a summer in 1979 a AMC Javelin with a 401. You are doing what I used to do when I was your age , but we did it first on out bicycles checking out the lane ways and looking down driveway on a Saturday or Sunday morning to see what was piled under the old lawn chairs and lumber people had in there garages when they went to do there gardening on the weekends, Later I would drive around with my best friend looking in the rear of factory’s , because a lot of the time it was the guys who had the money running a business who had the place to put several old cars in there yards back then but no time to enjoy them! Obviously we did not have the internet or video cells or access to a lot of funds like KZreadrs do, It was a hobby on a weekend we had that turned into enjoying 85 personal vehicles I owed all different kinds from a Model T to a 70 Coupe Deville to a 91 Heritage softail to a 88 911 Porsche Carrera Them days are almost long gone, But as your video shows there is still a few of us old dogs that aren’t old mean pricks still alive around that hold a few nice vehicles around. And to the some other comments with regards to old people letting there cars rot or just sit, Sometimes there is more to the story that is personal that meets some peoples imaginations, A lot of people that have a vehicle sitting around is because of many reasons, Most is a loss of interest, not even money motivates some to sell because some have gone through life with many different stresses and don’t give a dang about that old car, and are fed up with greed hate trickery lies and couldn’t be bothered with that vehicle taking valuable space up or could give them extra money in there pockets, Because money won’t bring back the youthful minded person they once were, or change much of anything, Or not caring because of health issues, Or taking care of a sick family member Or just plane giving up on life because whatever that old shit box might bring them in cash will not bring back the personal connection they once had with that vehicle, Or how they feel by parting with it makes them feel less of value to themselves in life, Holding onto A specific vehicle a person may have many have legitimate reasons behind there thinking, Then there is the estate bickering The suing of family members that only showed up at funerals to see what they think is owed to them, Or the property being held up in a court battle that may take years and years to settle Leaving these old cars to rot in a old field! I particularly respect and admire You and your wonderful best friend Lady for doing a respectful editing process in your videos, This means the world to us older and younger crowd in like, not revealing any heartache these people most certainly are going through, A lot of people that hold onto there old rides are because we think one day when things all work out and the mortgage is paid and if they have kids they are financially set on there own or when unfortunately our old parents pass away and we not in the position of being a 24 hour or part time care giver, Many think that they will just pop a battery in that old car ant give it a tune up fix a couple of rust spots and push in a old cassette tape fire it up and be travelling back in time in something that had meaning to them, Until they start to realize it will cost hundreds of dollars in many cases to just get it out of a garage into a shop to look at, and then thousands more afterwards, And so they close the door again on what once was and think maybe another day I will get to it and then it sits to fade away for more years. Sad but this is true! I have seen and spoke with many people about the reasons and have a few similar to myself here, But the most best way to approach ANYONE that has something of interest to you is to be Kind and not fake, respect there feelings because MANY of these people have gone through shit and experienced unbelievable things that hopefully you and all in the search for a adrenaline fix of a dream come true will never experience, as many have lived lives of betrayal, So when it comes to a barn find or garage find or field find Respect is number #1 If someone sees you are being honest (And in this life that’s a rare) You may find yourself buying something you dreamed of owning too! Everything takes Money and that’s the one thing all these neglected vehicles suffer from The personal time , money, to properly store and run and take care of them or that one that is sitting in some old garage somewhere! No one truly gives up on there dreams in life it’s just that sometimes dreams or ambitions last on forever with some never awaking to the realize that there will come a day of total darkness! Or life’s priorities take over, lack of energy, interest, even hope! Good luck in keeping the dream alive and the thrill of adventure in finding something of historical sound feel texture and mechanical electrical and artistic design! And always be Kind to your better half ALWAYS compromise, as it is truly the key to ANY long relationship! Being kind also works well with any vehicle but I find they don’t like to be compromised very much! Cheers! Ont. Ca. ☮️🇺🇸🇨🇦☮️

THANK YOU 🙏🙏 for making this video. It's an amazing piece of American history. Many people don't appreciate cars and the fantastic history behind them. I love listening to the folks that lived it and know it and wish there were more of you out there. It's definitely a treasure I don't want to see lost. I grew up in an AMC only family. My parents told me their first car was a Nash. Daddy told me a lot about cars back before I was born and I began to be a car enthusiast by the time I was 13. I used to go to car shows, car lots and the whole thing growing up. It was amazing!!! Daddy had me helping him maintain and work on his Rambler when I was very young. My Mother had the Ambassador, fully loaded of course, Daddy had the Matador fully loaded and also my brother had the Marlin then 74 Javelin which went to my sister and then me. We had many more AMC'S throughout the extended family. I was so hoping to see a Marlin though. Thank you for the memories!!!❤

The internet is full of people like this. Guys that have countless "projects" that all need something or another. But now they're in their sixties and don't have any money to finish a single one. Even if they realize they could dump about half their collections and THAT would fund a few really nice drivable cars. They're hoarders.

@@jamesphilip6737 But here's the thing James - at the time when they were still in decent condition, they DIDN'T have any value - who in 1992 wanted to drive around a 15-20 year old AMC? Very few people. So you couldn't even give them away. I live about 20 miles away from what used to be an all-AMC junkyard - they sold the land and crushed every single car in the yard. People weren't looking for a Pacer or a Gremlin or whatever back then. When I used to junkyard hunt in the 1980s, I saw dozens and dozens of the grandma-special 1960s Rambler American sedans in nearly perfect condition and you couldn't give those away at the time either. I would have loved to save one for a sleeper car, but didn't have any place to store such a thing (any more than Mr. Collier did). Timing is everything, and it's easy to look at things differently in hindsight.

@Mike Abner>>> It just shows ya what goes on in peoples lives like here. The township & the state R probably on this guys ass religiously to clean that up in that neighborhood... I have personally encountered these lazy spoiled senior citizen rich kids many years ago when the shit was still worth something. they should have been selling it... They wanted to get rich fast & wanted ultra fantastic money for basic junk cars & trucks back in the late 1990s when resto mods became king stuff.. Now they have to just about give it away. In saying that U have to buy 2 -3-4 of them vehicles to put one back together semi right. Keep in mind not all door panels match and that this particular huckster is video is an assholes & that is his down fall is how far he let these cars go with windows missing or part way or all the way down... The cars are nearly worthless and it's not like they R total vintage stuff either some R some R not. Right now these cars outside of a few R just NOTALGIA pieces... They coulda been worth something if this boob had not been so lazy as to let windows down let em deteriorate thus far & he coulda housed a few of those real Javelin gems... Just shows ya what people stoop to in their old age especially when they get an alligator on their ass... I bet the state and the township R all over this guys ass or he has that LOT SOLD where these cars R at... Nobody with clear conscience woulda let that stuff to rot like that without selling it when it was still worth more than scrap money. There were collectors and restoration ppl for the last 40 years looking 4 stuff like those vehicles in decent condition... It's like selling a house and letting it slip to condemned condition and U know.... IN RETRO SPEC THE NEW COMMUNIST & HILLARY FOLKS R IN A BIG HURRY TO DO AWAY WITH GAS POWERED CARS AND MAKE YA BUY ONE THEN CHINESE WEED WHACKER CORDLESS DRILL TYPE OF CARS. So there are other elements that play another unheard tune on the old AM radio here... Do not sell a single vehicle made before 2003 U will be sorry if ya do... Joe Biden means to create mayhem... Just look what is going on with auto parts..

The first model was Ika Tornino 380 and 380w (3 webber carbs). Thru the years Renault bought Ika. After that, torino was refresh, the Torinos made by Renault were the "TS, TSX, ZX and ZX GAMA" The Torino producing ends in early 1982. Here we love them, the car culture is awesome. We got the chevy nova here too, it was named "Chevy serie 2" (6 cylinder 250). I'm so proud because the gentlemen know about our torino. Great video!

I was a police officer in 1972 in Gilbert Arizona and our newest cruiser was a 1972 Ambassador. We had been using a 1970 Chevrolet, being a very small police department at the time, and also had a 1968 Dodge 440, which was very worn out. I remember the first time I drove our new police special cruiser, as I said a small department at that time, not now, on patrol on the evening shift. I was impressed with the sound of the engine as I revved it up a little, impressed with the sound of power that I had not experienced with our older units. I thought WOW! No way are these show off's getting their way with this department any longer with their high powered hot rods. I was ready for my first chase and it was sure I would get one as everyone knew about our new police chase vehicle in our small town of Gilbert Arizona. We had a whole three man department, plus the Chief in those days of a town 1 mile square. Oh the excitement of driving a real chase vehicle, with a super charged engine that 'No one could out run'. Opps. Well, we thought so. The night of truth came about in early 1970 in Gilbert Arizona on a warm clear night at about 1 AM. An old 68 Firebird Pontiac tore out tires at the end of town and of course this was my chance to give chase. I did so and had my partner taking notes. We could see his taillights a quarter mile ahead, but kept up with great vigor! In the distance we could see the vehicle at large turned towards Chandler Arizona. As I basically skidded onto the main road I could see the vehicle turning into a small drive. I followed and found him parked, standing next to his Firebird with a grin on his face. My embarrassment was the sound of my engine, which was hammering very loudly. He spoke, " Hmmm, sounds like you got a problem with a rod maybe?" Yep! I blew it up the first night I drove our new HOT Ambassador cruiser. I always remember that night when I hear "AMC".

I'm not a big car lover--I'm car free--but I'm a big fan American Pickers and the stories they find. I'm also a huge political history nerd (Watergate especially), and was pleasantly surprised to find Goldwater's AMX here when I was searching for other information about the Collier AMC dealership. I am working on a video game level design project and wanted to get a sense of a place like this for it. The fact you managed to get the Goldwater story from Collier a month before the car left the property is just gold (no pun intended). Nice work!!

Oh my god. Then they showed the ‘67 Galaxie. My heart dropped. I had a 1967 LTD, 2 door hardtop, 390, cooooold AC. I loved that car. Classy. Pretty. Powerful. And smooth like butter.

My dad bought the family a 67 Rambler Rebel SST 2 door convertible in 68 in Omaha, NB. I kept that car until about 10 years ago and had to finally give up on my dream of restoring it because I moved from PA to TX. I drove that car from 74-76 when I bought my dad’s 74 Torino.

I started going with my dad to pull parts from his buddy's junkyard when I was 6 i was instantly hooked on all the old cars. I remember holding the flashlight and handing him tools, he took time to teach me what he was doing. I would walk around and look at every car asking questions about engines and bodystyle's make's and model's, his budy owned the parts store/mechanic shop in town, so I was always excited when we would go get parts. they had dirt track race cars to ,I started helping do the ruff bodywork and paint when I was 10 or 12 several days a week and on the weekends went with them racing. I owned a small paint and bodyshop right outa technical school for 30years, I'm almost 50 semi retired this video has me remembering those good old days. thanks for sharing this. I got a little teared up remembering my dad and his budy who was basically like my uncle or second dad, they taught me everything they knew about cars.

Man! Thank you so much for making this video. I normally don't sit and watch ANY hour long videos on here. Or I'll skip through, never watching the whole thing. I couldn't look away. This was awesome! For everyone dogging this guy for hoarding these cars, it wasn't him. It was his dad. Also, these were just old used cars years ago. Nothing really special. I'm guessing that after his father passed, him and his wife were made executors of the estate. Now everything is for sale. Many of these cars can and will be saved. Or parts used to save other cars. I would rather see cars collected and stored this way than being sent to the crusher. Knowing this guy is 2 1/2hrs away from me has me lusting over a few of these rusty jewels!

It was a pleasure to listen and watch the interaction between you and Mr. Collier and how passionate and excited he was to tell the story. I think you probably just scratched the surface here. I have said this before: You have a gift of extracting this historical information which become a documentary. It is quite obvious that folks are comfortable sharing their story with you and appreciate the opportunity and get their stories out their on the platform you provide. The pictures Logan took were fantastic.

There are a few of these lost dealerships around the country, I always find it interesting, the personal relationship that the owners have with almost every car in the yard. What some people see as a yard of decaying metal, These people see their lives and memories of people they knew. It's hard to see those cars just going to nothing thou. Thank you for sharing.

Brought back a lot of memories. I worked for a company many years ago that had over 100 1955-65 Pontiacs (No AMC’s ). When I wasn’t restoring cars I was on the road with a 5 slot car hauler to places like this to buy them. Good times👍

Wow that was so cool to see all those cars. That oh boy has the memory like no other. You can tell it means so much to him that it was his daddy's. I came from northern Pennsylvania back in 1987 to the hickory maiden mooresville area and the first time I heard a grown man call his dad daddy it melted my heart.thats total respect for a man's dad. I was actually with my dad that he and mom had cone down to visit me and my wife and kids for a couple weeks and this big oh man was talking about his daddy and used that several times while explaining about his dad's life who had passed away several yrs before andi looked at my dad and he looked at me and smiled and I smiled back and dad and from that day forward I called my dad daddy. We talked about it after that oh boy left and I asked dad why he called his dad daddy and he said he had never heard it before but that he could tell it was a show and sign of respect for his dad and was sure it was probably a southern thing men did. That conversation with that oh boy and the one with my daddy always stuck with me since 1987. But yes I could listen too Mr collier for days on end. Anytime I get the chance to sit down or walk with an old gentlemen like that and just listen to the stories and ask them questions I take it. Those oh boys and there knowledge and history are a dying breed and that's just shame so for you to film and document this day with him is genuinely awesome and so meaningful. Your doing a wonderful thing with your channel young man and your female companion. I hated hearing about jerks going in there and stealing parts and things of his off cars and the buildings but we no there out there and they have no morals. All the while I was watching the video I was wondering just how many times he's walked people through those same paths around all those cars and buildings and told those same stories about each car over and over and it's all burnt into his brain and he can not wait to share it again with the next lucky guy and or girl. It is sad though to see those very old vehicles more or less returning to the soil under them.seeing trees growing up through them.but it's just all part of the legacy of that families dealership an business for many decades. You could just tell he wants to share his memories with anyone who will and wants to hear and learn about it. He's a very proud man that's for sure. Thanks so much for finding these gems of places that are dying more everyday. Your doing a great service and I pray the younger generations will learn and appreciate guys like him and you for bringing this history to us all. Thanks man 👍

When I was a kid growing up in the 60's & 70's there was junk car lots in about every town. We would hang out and act like we was actually driving and alot of times just spend the day running through the woods and hanging out in the cars.
