The orange one is a car that transports blod, organs and lots of radioactiv things to hospitals

A lot of the fire trucks in that wideo is not used to put out fiers mainly, Some of them are used for other emergencys then fiers. Some carry things to cut stuff like a wrecked car to help the ambulance crews to get tho the wounded. Some to asist divers in case of an emergensy in water or to help the fierfighters that have to enter a burning buildding, and so on. Some are terain going with equipment to cut trees and so on, to aid people in need where trucks or helicopters cant reach them. We call them Räddningstjänsten and it translates to "the Rescue service". The orange car whas some cind of early respond unit. Maybe just a car that is suposed to go and estimate what units and how meny thay need to call to the place of the emergency.. So if there's been a car crach they will tell how many whehicles that is involverd and how many woundeed they think it will be. And also if there is a risk of fire or it will take a lot of metal cutting to ghet tho the sounded inside the cars. And even if some roads need to be closed or even evacueted. In case of a an accident with cargo that is toxic or flamabel they will order an evacuetaion and tell the other rescueteams that they need to be extra perpared and wear the propper protections, and so on.

One thing to note regarding the different styles of vehicles: Different services are organized on different levels in Sweden. Police are organized on a national level, we have no city police etc. This means usually can buy 1-2 different vehicles for each role during a certain time period. Currently they can buy Volvo XC60 or V90 as patrol cars. Medical services are handled on a regional level, there are 21 regions who all run their medical services independent of each other. Each are responsible for buying their own equipment. Fire services are handled on a local level, by each Municipality. There are 290 in total, but they often collaborate to reduce costs. The Municipality where I live collaborate with 3 others. To the east and west of us is a larger collaboration of 11 Municipalities, which I would expect us to join in the future.

Can you apply for work there?

Hi Dar! Most of the ambulances are custom built on modified chassis from different manufacturers. There are several different types ranging from off-road vehicles to large bus-like ones that can transport several sitting patients and stretchers. Some of them are purpose built to handle different types of injuries and diseases. The one you wondered about I think was built from a Volvo SUV XC90. We also have an ambulance-boat here in the archipelago off the west coast, where I live 😉😁. It’s a ~65 feet caramaran that of course can transport several patients and have a top speed of over 35 mph.

Tha ambulace at 1:41 is a Volvo Nilsson XC90 or XC70 (Nilsson Special Vehicles) and the orange unit is a medical transport unit that transport healthcare stuff, among other things, medical teams, organs, medical samples and medical equipment, to and from hospitals, pharmacies and the region's other businesses.

What you didn’t notice was that all of the emergency vehicles has to different sounds, one is used for going down a road and one is used only at intersections, that way the public knows what to look for!! 😊 @DarTheTraveler

In sweden we have a lot of diffrent types of police cars, we have vans, SUVs, trucks and normal cars

In the US, it is not just to the right anymore, you can pullover to any safe place.

The “orange car” is just 4 deliveries between hospitals whit blood and organs and it’s own by a private firm. We have different sort and of ambulances .. the smaller ones is Volvos 4x4 we had Mercedes cars as well before. Now the big Mercedes is dominant in Sweden. Fire trucks is built by Scania and Volvo ..the trucks is delivers naked whit the cabin and fe to a workshop ( ex Sala Heby ) they build the fire truck how the department want it. The spec one that was on a flat rack is for Forrest fires and build by Hägglunds in Sweden

The orange car is used for emergency transportation of hearth and simular stuff, sure some times they has humans with them except the driver and possible another to check the vitals, but it's often only the driver and the organ. The unmark cop car is own by diffrence parts of the organisation.

Instead of stopping your vehicle completely and causing more accidents, it is better to move your vehicle at a suitable speed until you are less in the way of the emergency vehicles, eg driving onto the pavements, ditches and the like. I thought Americans had the common sense to think this far instead of stopping their vehicle completely like some stop blocks that do nothing but be in the way.

Hi Dar! This you might seem as an intresting fact about Swedish Respond Vehicles. If you would block or hinder, a swedish ambulance for an example you get either jailed or blamed by law of a persons death not for the ambulance to arrive on time. Or you'll have to pay an enormous amount of money, as a punshing act for your doing. By Swedish Law, you are not prprohibited to block ¨ANY¨ emergency respond unit when they are out to either travel to a patient in dire need of helt etc etc. Hopes this helps you to understand!

It's a shame that the Mounted Unit vehicles weren't shown here. As an equestrian, the equipment they have is quite interesting and fancy. They also have atleast one large truck for their Stockholm unit, which is basically brand new with a sleeping cabin and working lights ect. Meanwhile here in Finland, last I know our only unit (since Turku Mounted Unit was forced to end operation a few years ago) in thee entire country drives a pretty shitty cargo truck type of thing that wasn't propaply even meant for horses in the first place, which doesn't have anything fancy on or in it.

And to be more specific one of the companies doing this type of transport is called best and in this video it actually is Best that is driving, they have lights and sirens because some organ transports can be VERY urgent
