He was the greatest of all time. Ronaldinho was with Messi in the same team, but Messi was like 19 years old or something like that. Messi was just starting his career back then. So Ronaldinho wear the no. 10 shirt and Messi was often a substitute in that team back in 2004-2006. That was Ronaldinho's prime. The thing is Ronaldinho liked to party a lot, so he didn't maintain that high level for too long. But in his prime, he was greater than Messi and Cr. Ronaldo.

when this guy hit the world stage, CR7 and Messi were barely out of kindergarten to coin an american term, this guy was the man who lit up the 'new era' of football with the skills and techniques that influenced many even today, if you go back and watch some of the Euro 2020 games, you will see when teams get a free kick on the edge of the penalty area, behind the wall there's a player laying down, it is because of Ronaldinho that they do this since he coined the technique to hit the ball under the wall instead of going over/around, and so many things that happen in the game today are attributed to him.

Ronaldinho had: - Goals - Assists - Speed - Strength - Power - Free kicks - Vision - Dribbling - Trophies People rule him out as the GOAT because his prime lasted like 4 years, but during that time it was like watching a magician. He wore No. 10 for FC Barcelona and was the predecessor to Messi. There's a quote that goes "Football can make anyone smile, but Ronaldinho can make the football smile". It speaks of his ball control, skills, and flare, that left people in awe because it had never been seen before. 7:44 - In this clasico, Real Madrid fans gave him a standing ovation as they acknowledged they were in the presence of a great. The thing that makes this even more chilling is that Ronaldinho was thrashing them in their own home. Sadly his father passed away, and that appeared to be the beginning of the end for him. By that time he had won about every trophy there was to win, so people say he lost a lot of drive and discipline, which caused him to go on the decline. He is still one of the greatest without a doubt.

Those one touch volley goals by Zlatan... in traffic from crazy angles that no one else can make will probably put her to sleep. She gets an A for effort--but I don't think she grasps the insane, generation-defining, skill and all time great she's watching. To be honest, it's mostly people who dedicated a lot of time to the game or watched waaay too much football (soccer) who know that stuff just doesn't happen that often... You can go games and not see a Ronaldinho or Zlatan highlight... They did it frequently and on the biggest stages, against people who are paid to stop them, even if it means playing dirty.

There's this story about a dutch football team, bad weather and a beverage can and the crossbar. That's how i remember hearing it: The weather was bad, and the players didn't want to train because of the rain and them considering themselves trained enough. The Trainer back then (Ernst Happel) an "old grumpy austrian (and a pretty good player in his time) argued that he would let them skip the trianing if they were in fact good enough. He told one player to place a coke can on one end of the cross bar. (this was at a time when the goal bars weren't all rounded bars like today) He then placed the ball at the 16m box and shot the can off. He then said that every player that could do that could skip the training. The ball and can were placed again, and each player tried. -> All of them had to attend training. ;-) (One of the former players told it in a TV docu 20 years or so later when Ernst Happel died. That's when i heard it in the 90's)

I've got a few suggestions for players you could watch but they're not modern players so may not be of interest to you and for some of them there may not be a lot of footage but they are some of the best so there should be enough. 1. Ronaldo (but not Christiano, I'm talking about the original Ronaldo, the real Ronaldo, R9 the Brazilian Ronaldo) 2. Diego Maradona (he may have broken English hearts with his hand of God goal but he's still one of the greatest players of all time. He might've been flawed in many ways but was still a genius) 3. Paul Gasgoine (probably one of the best players we produced in England. He was very talented but sadly his career was ruined by injury and eventually addiction mainly to alcohol. That aside he was a great player and is a very funny guy. I'd reccomend not only having a look at his ability on the pitch but listening to a few stories about some of his antics away from the pitch too, definitely a few good ones I've heard from his ex Rangers team mate Ally Mcoist) 4. George Best (Another great sadly addiction was a big part of his life like Gazza but he was incredible, so much so that the airport in Belfast is named after him I believe although Irish people will correct me if I'm wrong. An interesting story about Best, towards the end of his career he signed for Scottish club Hibernian. They were hardly getting any crowds for their matches but gained a crowd of over 10,000 for his first game, shows you the power one player had. If you think of how crazy people go for Ronaldo and Messi these days that's what it was like for Best) 5. Pele (nothing needs to be said really just enjoy the greatest player ever to step onto a football pitch) 6. Johan Cruyff (again nothing much needs to be said here. For me he is second best of all time behind Pele, what a player and I'm still trying to get a Dutch shirt with 14 Cruyff on the back. I'm not Dutch but if I had one it would take pride of place in my house but unfortunately it's really hard to get one) There's quite a few I could've recommended but I didn't want to overload you. I'd start with those six and you can get more after

He played with such beauty, executed the hardest tricks to get through the defense and still seemed like he does all of this just for fun, like he really loves footbal, same as we all do as little kids, when we first start playing. It was amazing to watch him play. He also has all the titles you can imagine, more important ones than Christiano or Messi. If you enjoy the curved shots, I would highly recommend to check at least one of the legendary free kicks from Roberto Carlos. And since you enjoy Christiano Ronaldo, you might also enjoy the real Ronaldo... Ronaldo Nazario, number 9 Brazil :) I really like your content, keep up the nice work!

There is someone known as Iniesta, which might be worth a reaction. To someone who's never played soccer, he might look unspecial but he was as good as Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho. The vision, mentality, presence, creativity, intuition, awareness... this guy bossed the midfield, it was like he was watching the game through the stands,... like for us it all looks easy but being there changes the game, remember unlike basketball the ground is huge and there are more players, you cannot constantly turn your head around and tiredness also plays a factor. But Iniesta transcended all of that. This guy was pretty much playing the sport like a video game like he had 3 eyes or something. You should watch the video named "Art of Defending" to learn how some of the best defending looks like. Ronaldinho played in a role known as Attacking Midfielder... and to be specific, a creative midfielder. Most of his job is to take the ball ahead by being creative and make sure it reaches the striker. He was just so good that he scored a ton himself. He didn't defend much. Other examples of midfielders like him are Zinedine Zidane, who played for Real Madrid. Also, Iniesta is considered one of the best in this role, he used to defend more and not be as flashy or end up scoring much, but Iniesta was a big role in FC Barcelona's 2 runs where they were deemed the most unplayable and scary team to play against.

Cristiano Ronaldo can only dream that he could be as good as Ronaldinho was. Ronaldinho was playing with a heavier ball, in a time when it was a far more physical game and he had nearly every player on the other team kicking chunks out of him. And yet he still managed to play the greatest style of football in the game, Messi is the modern Ronaldinho because they were born with their talent. Cristiano Ronaldo has spent his entire career trying to imitate Ronaldinho's natural magic. Plus, when you can do all of the magic whilst being kicked to pieces and stay on your feet, that makes you one of the three best of all time.

Both styles are equally effective. Also, you’ve never seen Ronaldo assist his own bicycle kick, there are levels to this. And if a new move both works well in order to defeat defenders and is also fun to perfect, it'll be used by many. When Ronaldinho was a kid, he had idols doing tricks like that in the Brazil national team, for example. But he certainly was able to do them more easily and combine them to perfection.

Christiano is levels below Ronaldinho. And what was impressive about Ronaldinho is that he did a lot these things, indeed, very, very often. It was how he played in general. Which is why he has so much top notch material for videos even though his career was very short.

Ronaldo (an amazing player of course) is so in love with his own mythology that his sense of entitlement now has to travel in the hold on international flights because it's so weighty. Ronaldinho, on the other hand, plays spectacular football and knows he's amazing, but seems incredulous that it's bought him money (lots), women (lots), fame (lots) and cake (lots). Hey - we all like cake right?!

Such a dumbass take. Ronaldo has absolutely no sense of entitlement - he's never stopped working to stay at the top, even now when he's 36 years old. Ronaldinho, on the other hand, stopped caring about football as soon as it allowed him to party. He was a spoilt brat even before Barcelona. Great player (for about 4 years), but felt entitled ever since he made it to Europe.

Ronaldinho,[note 1] is a Brazilian former professional footballer and current ambassador for Barcelona. He played mostly as an attacking midfielder, but was also deployed as a winger. Often considered one of the best players of his generation and regarded by many as one of the greatest of all time, Ronaldinho won two FIFA World Player of the Year awards and a Ballon d'Or. A global icon of the sport, he was renowned for his technical skills, creativity and dribbling ability, as well as his use of tricks, feints, overhead kicks, no-look passes and accuracy from free-kicks. Ronaldinho made his career debut for Grêmio, in 1998. At age 20, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain in France before signing for Barcelona in 2003. In his second season with Barcelona, he won his first FIFA World Player of the Year award as Barcelona won the 2004-05 La Liga title. The season that followed is considered one of the best in his career as he was integral in Barcelona winning the 2005-06 UEFA Champions League, their first in fourteen years, and another La Liga title, giving Ronaldinho his first career double, receiving the 2005 Ballon d'Or and his second FIFA World Player of the Year in the process. After scoring two spectacular solo goals in the first 2005-06 El Clásico, Ronaldinho became the second Barcelona player, after Diego Maradona in 1983, to receive a standing ovation from Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabéu. Following a second-place La Liga finish to Real Madrid in the 2006-07 season and an injury-plagued 2007-08 season, Ronaldinho departed Barcelona to join AC Milan, where he won the 2010-11 Serie A. He then returned to Brazil to play for Flamengo in 2011 and Atlético Mineiro a year later where he won the 2013 Copa Libertadores, before moving to Mexico to play for Querétaro and then back to Brazil to play for Fluminense in 2015. Ronaldinho accumulated numerous other individual awards in his career. He was included in the UEFA Team of the Year and the FIFA World XI three times each, and was named UEFA Club Footballer of the Year for the 2005-06 season and South American Footballer of the Year in 2013. In 2004, he was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players. In his international career with Brazil, Ronaldinho earned 97 caps and scored 33 goals and represented his country in two FIFA World Cups. After debuting with the Seleção by winning the 1999 Copa América, he was an integral part of the 2002 FIFA World Cup-winning team, starring alongside Ronaldo and Rivaldo in an attacking trio, and was named in the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team. As captain, he led his team to the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup title and was named man of the match in the final. He also captained the Brazil Olympic team to a bronze medal in men's football at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Born and raised in Madeira, Ronaldo began his senior club career playing for Sporting CP, before signing with Manchester United in 2003, aged 18, winning the FA Cup in his first season. He would also go onto win three consecutive Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup; at age 23, he won his first Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo was the subject of the then-most expensive association football transfer when he signed for Real Madrid in 2009 in a transfer worth €94 million (£80 million), where he won 15 trophies, including two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, four Champions Leagues, and became the club's all-time top goalscorer. He also finished runner-up for the Ballon d'Or three times, behind Lionel Messi (his perceived career rival), and won back-to-back Ballons d'Or in 2013 and 2014, and again in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, Ronaldo signed for Juventus in a transfer worth an initial €100 million (£88 million), the most expensive transfer for an Italian club and the most expensive transfer for a player over 30 years old. He won two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana, and a Coppa Italia in his first three seasons with the club. Ronaldo made his senior international debut for Portugal in 2003 at age 18, and has since earned over 170 caps, including appearing and scoring in eleven major tournaments, becoming Portugal's most capped player and his country's all-time top goalscorer. He scored his first international goal at Euro 2004, where he helped Portugal reach the final, and assumed full captaincy of the national team in July 2008. In 2015, Ronaldo was named the best Portuguese player of all time by the Portuguese Football Federation. The following year, he led Portugal to their first triumph in a major tournament by winning Euro 2016, and received the Silver Boot as the second-highest goalscorer of the tournament. He also led them to victory in the inaugural UEFA Nations League in 2019, and later received the Golden Boot as top scorer of Euro 2020. One of the most marketable and famous athletes in the world, Ronaldo was ranked the world's highest-paid athlete by Forbes in 2016 and 2017 and the world's most famous athlete by ESPN from 2016 to 2019. Time included him on their list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2014. He is the first footballer and the third sportsman to earn $1 billion in their career.

Good luck with this amazing journey, I'm still amazed how you compare C.Ronaldo with Ronaldinho considering you did a background check on him in the beginning (of the video at least) and assessed he is much older than CR7 :)) Regarding the question who is the best, the only comparison that can be made is with Messi and C.Ronaldo, as their prime years overlap, most likely the other comparison you make are not very good as football tactics evolved.

Messi and Ronaldinho played together for a few seasons, as right and left wingers respectively, linking up with striker, Samuel Eto’o. Messi was just 16 when he made his 1st team debut for Barcelona and after his first training session, Ronaldinho told his team mates that he believed one day Messi would be a better player than himself.

There are so many stories about Ronaldinho. Allegedly Real Madrid didn't make a bid for him, because they thought he was ugly, and for the "best" team in the world, that wasn't good enough. The clincher for his ability was Real Madrid fans gave him a standing ovation in 2005. Madrid and Barca are fierce rivals, but they know football. A player who always brings a smile to my face, so thank you for reacting to him.
