@bahamabrouk3660Ай бұрын
something else that is very important, the resolution proportions were different since screens used to be square looking, and now our cameras and screens are wider 16:9 and when we watch older games, the image gets stretched, so ball speed and even player speed look different, passes look like they go out with speed and then quickly stop or slow down, which makes it look heavier, but it's an illusion most of the time, it just looks faster then it actually is when it leaves the players foot. watching stretched old football games on a wide screen , players look like they are sprinters

just to add on to the heavy ball point, the pitches today are much flatter because of them being partially artificial, so the ball would bounce around much more back then due to the rougher surface they were playing on, the games a lot faster now becuase passes are more accuarate and I dont think the pitches being completely different being a massive factor is spoken about enough

5:35 We do have what we need for 4k+ footage, most of this stuff, is somewhere on a film spool in better quality than HD, the problem is most 00's and before clips are poorly digitised. The Analog to digital capture in the late 90's & 00's was terrible, and in some cases these clips are being further converted by low resolution digital format conversation in the same period. If we could get access to the films, we could have 4k modern digitised versions of this stuff. Even as far back as the 70's we could have great quality footage, and even much better looking footage with clean ups of 50's and 60's footage. Analog Camera's as far back as the 50's were capturing picture quality at a higher level than 4k, its just digital is cheaper to mass produce, and is now at comparable quality (at least in terms of capturing visual and audio and audio play back devices) Modern 4 and 8 K screens are only really catching up with analogs peak in the last 10 to 15 years. The loss in quality is a matter of poor conversion in the 00's and late 90's and not the original footage itself, and therefore if the film exists , or a modern high quality digital conversion exists then we can see some of these clips in 4k, and World cup broadcast films for SURE exist, and likely a lot of top flight national league , and continental club broadcast footage likely is somewhere in a film storage room waiting to be digitised

Romário was that guy who was extremely arrogant. But the had the skills to back it up so everyone liked him, save for some of his team mates, when he played for Vasco with Edmundo, there was a time that Vaco had been awarded with a Penalty And Edmundo was the oficial penalty shooter for the team but on that occasion, Romário wanted to shoot the penalty, and he missed, after the match when asked about the Romário's Penalty, Edmundo said something like "That's Usually my job the 'little prince Romário' wanted to be the one to shoot today, the result speaks for itself". When asked "if Romário is a Little Prince ( in the sense that he is a spoiled brat) who would be the King" Edmundo answered "The Manager", cut to a few matches later when Vasco won a game and Romário was the Mvp of the match, and he's asked about his performance, and he says "i think everyone is happy with the result today, The King, The Prince and Even The Court Clown (Edmundo)"

If Romario had the same attitude as Messi or CR7, he would have been the best ever! no questions about it, it was too easy for him to score a goal!! One on one was like Messi, they were impossible to cover!
Best player inside the box ever, no question. Even legends of the game like Guardiola and Zidane agree.
Its a myth about the ball. From 1937 the balls had same weight. The speed of it its more of a ilussion with older cameras

The old leather balls did soak up qater, making them heavier. But that's way before the 90s

I'm also going to akshualy that on another point, modern pitches are far better than they used to be and make the game and balls faster. The transition took a while but largely started in the early 90s and was finished by the mid to late 00s.
The ball got lighter and moves more in the air. Which shows you how special these older players were.
something else that is very important, the resolution proportions were different since screens used to be square looking, and now our cameras and screens are wider 16:9 and when we watch older games, the image gets stretched, so ball speed and even player speed look different, passes look like they go out with speed and then quickly stop or slow down, which makes it look heavier, but it's an illusion most of the time, it just looks faster then it actually is when it leaves the players foot. watching stretched old football games on a wide screen , players look like they are sprinters
Romario was my first favorite player, and the "Samba Football" that Brazil played. (Watched videos of WC 94) It wasn't until Barcelona's Tiki-Taka that I found another beautiful playing style that I loved.
When I was a kid in Spain everybody wanted to be Romario. That chip was often attempted in the playground. 😅
Great that you reacted to him. Not the best comp video. They mashed up the highlights so much. Didn’t even show his best chip goal at Barcelona properly. I recommend the two vids by Futbol Nacional.
The ball is not heavier, it''s a combination of the materials that they use not compared to them and the frame rate of the old video's that make it seem slower.
just to add on to the heavy ball point, the pitches today are much flatter because of them being partially artificial, so the ball would bounce around much more back then due to the rougher surface they were playing on, the games a lot faster now becuase passes are more accuarate and I dont think the pitches being completely different being a massive factor is spoken about enough
About the speed of the passing, and generally the playstyle from back in the day, the ball was indeed different but I think the quality of the grass was an even bigger difference.
He played beside Guardiola in Barcelona coached by the great johan Cruyff
This month hbo max will be dropping a documentary series, about him and the 1994 world cup, featuring Baggio, Guardiola, Koeman, Stoichkov, etc. I don't know if it will be available in other countries, but if it does, that's certainlly worth a watch!
Romário is the greatest striker of all time And, no, the ball was not heavier
Fun fact, while Romario and Ronaldo (R9) were sharing the pitch for the brazilian national team, they have won every single match. They haven't lost a single match while playing together. Too bad it was for such a short period of time.
Rivaldo and Adriano are a must if you're getting into Brazilian players, both of them with a fantastic dribbling skills and super strong shots, specially Adriano on the shots, Rivaldo over Adriano on dribbling, if you put those 2 together and mix'em up you'd have Ronaldo (the real Ronaldo) #9 in Brazilian national team, I'm telling you dude, I've been a fan for Brazil since 1982 (7 at the time) and forever will be.
Romário was a great striker, a genius inside the box. Very controversial too. If you want to learn more, there is a episode from "Beef History" that features him.
Oh boy, Those boys omg that was the Brazil that made it to the books of supreme superior supremacy. I watched them play as a child and still recall the admiration, the respect that the world felt for them
I wish he stayed longer at Barca
Modern balls are not literally lighter but they are effectively lighter. They're designed to have far better energy transference so they will go further and faster if the same force is applied. Also with modern materials they aren't affected by weather conditions the way older ones were.
The ball used to be havier and slower because of materials, in that era it was stitched leather. Now is all synthetic and no stitches that makes it lighter and smother to travel.
Not a heavier ball, but now it is synthetic instead of leather
He is kinda forgotten because he left Europe at his peak, right after he won the World Cup with Brazil in 94. He also missed the 98 World Cup due to injury/fallout with the manager at the time. It was supposed to be a Romario/Ronaldo duo at the front. Can you imagine that? Fun fact: he just came out of retirement to play for the Rio de Janeiro State second division with America and his son.
romario is one of the goats for sure
The grass was also different - you can see it with the naked eye - it was more like "natural," raw earth 'n' grass. Nowadays, it is still real grass, mostly, but carefully cut and cultivated, and the quality of the ground is different as well.
"Inside the box, there was no other like ROMÁRIO"
If communication was in the 50’, 60 70 80’s the way it is today Messi will be a player who plays almost just as good as the super stars of those eras. Football is the most dynamic sport that has produced the most talented athletes.
I do feel like watching some: Just how good was "insert player name" or career overview videos is a somewhat better option when getting to know players when compared to the usual "epic highlights".
every decade of football looks slower than the one that supersedes it. certainly that's my experience, and i started watching football in the 70s. it never fails to amaze me
There are video upscalers, but I'm not sure how much they cost or how effective they are.
romario is one of the greatest brazilians of all time
In Brazil there is a legit debate over who was the best between Ronaldo (R9) or Romario. He is that big here. I feel like he isn't considered that great overseas, perhaps because he spent most of his career playing in Brazil. Also, his playstyle is not as flashy as prime Ronaldo.
Also you should try to see his early years at Vasco da Gama
Old balls were far heavier. Also old football was far more savage and people used metalic cleats. It was so dangerous that players started that feign foul clownery. You should make a video about the evolution of the ball, I think there's videos of it.
he was known for not giving a fuck about anything hahaha didn't like to train but when he was on the pitch he was the best
he was a short striker but very lethal
People dont know how much different is modern equipment than 70 or 80 shoes is way more refined and ball to pitch is nearlly perfect novadays when i was young i in 90 i visit Tenth Anniwersary Stadium in Warsaw Poland it was one of the biggest stadium in Poland and the pitch was terribly uneven, although it looks great on TV so it was much harder to play house have to had better touch and overall tehnique than today just grab old football shoes you will feell the weight difference that why i dont compare plyers from different era it was different game equipment pitch rules even diet training all was different.
legend
Imagine how good he would be if he turned up for training.....
1min 44 was at the USA 94 World Cup
For Dana White talent is two men punching each other faces
He is senator for Rio de Janeiro State today
Heavier balls and the grass. Modern pitches are like pool tables. And not to mention the balls in the 80's. The first modern ball I played with was the famous MIKASA...wet it weight like a ton..no way to play it with your head.
Next: Ronaldo Nazario please
He's a senator now.
React to the world fastest bowler shaib akhtar or react to most dangerous bancer bowels ever
Dama White’s comment is so representative on the Americans that hate football/soccer and it’s such an ignorant take
4:00 wasnt offside
Plz react to "Vinicius Jr 2024 Ballon D'Or level".
You need to ser guardiola talking about him. O baixinho
Please react to balotelle
Dana white need to see Ronaldo Nazario, puré skills, dribbling better than Messi
Should we tell him about George Weah?
