Yeah, basketball here doesn't have a musical element, and the pyrotechnics would never happen. The fire marshall would be like...."Come with me sir." I think the difference is Euro soccer, more alcohol and the centuries old hatred between the cities and countries. lol. Football here has more of those elements but still not that much. It makes a difference when the City is the identity, not necessarily the team. Our cities aren't old enough and have had too much change/growth/ new people moving in and others leaving.

When you asked where was that, Turkey. No, it was in Serbia and Crvena Zvezda Beograd/Red Star Belgrade played. Because there is a lot of history in Europe, it transcends sports. Wars, conflicts, uprisings, riots, territories, politics and even religion it's all part of the sport. So you grow passion, love and hatred from your childhood. Sports aren't just sports in Europe and SA, it's life. Let me give you an example. For instance the rivalry between Glasgow Rangers and Celtic in Scotland is rooted in a divide of views in politics, religion and their relationship with Ireland. Or with let's say Liverpool FC, they strongly dislike the Monarchy...or SS Lazio from Italy were/are Nazis. Barcelona want autonomy whereas Madrid/Spain are a monarchy etc. It's like that across all of Europe, not to mention the wars in the past. Clubs hate each other even if they are from different countries...and friendships exist as well between cluba from different countries. Amd it is passed down from generation to generation. Also what will help the US is to integrate a relegation/promotion system in sports, that way the stakes are high each year and you will see passion from the fans AND players will hundredfold.

Could the great American NBA stars ever play with such an atmosphere in the stands? I don't think so. Europeans, on the other hand, have no problem playing in the NBA. Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2019 and 2020 and Serbian Nikola Jokić in 2021 and 2022 are the mvps of the last 4 years.

Luka Doncic played for Real Madrid so he is a veteran in such an athmosphere.
Welcome to Greece (this is Greek, not European basketball). Watch games between Aris-Paok, Olympiakos-Panathinaikos or between them. Enjoy. Actually I know a US basketball player who did not want to leave Greece and he had the best time in his career in Greece.
In US games are games. In Europe games are the ancient translation of wars. Cities are still "at war" through football and other sports. Countries vs countries etc.

''The Most Intense Atmosphere in Football - Partizan v Red Star | Derby Days'' - watch this you will not regret it
first was Aris from Thessaloniki..second was a team from serbia and third was Panathinaikos from Athens.
When I was at a basketball game with my friend (we live in Scotland) when the home team came out our stand collapsed from the jumping
The first EUROPE fans are from ARIS of Thessaloniki Greece and the game is local derby against PAOK. Third team fans are Panathinaikos fans from Athens, one of the biggest basketball clubs in Europe. This kind of atmosfere is normal in Blalkan Peninsula.
And you were saying lit! We’ll we actually bring the fire!
Watching you dance in all these curses made me laugh my guts out 😂😂😂🙌🙌💪
That's why jokic said when he was asked about miami's atmosphere "brother i played in serbia"
Congratulation Man you are doing amazing videos

Yeah, the Eastern Euros definitely love their cities and their basketball. It's good to see.
Had to give a like for this. hahahahaha the way you were so cocky hehehehehe. It's a different story in Europe. much love.
Lmfaooo 5:44 - 6:02 when you realized that it indeed was ACTUALLY a basketball game! 😂
In USA, you get huge stadium and everything, but in Europe it's passion, BRO! They are crazy! Look at the football stadium! (what you're calling soccer)! Now, you will understand the pressure, the American players get when they come playing in Europe! It's madness! 😂👍✌️🎸🇫🇷
By Europe you mean Serbia and Greece, Orthodox brothers where basketball is love and passion.
Same thing in concerts. Americans go to watch the artist sing, we sing to the artist :)
oh man we do that EVERY GAME and in DIFFERENT COUNTRIES with different sets of fans having their own style of support and songs
But I feel like this is true for many sports in Europe e.g. in my „state“ in Switzerland we play a lot of ice hockey and literally every game has these fires and stuff it’s kinda funny to see how calm people are in the USA
8:26 Mad Respect for the flag there. Much love!
the red star game was a serbian game in euroleague (turkish airlines sponsores it)
In Europe our team is our passion, is our mission, is our home as fans. We bring in - in every kind of stadium: ice hockey, basketball, volleyball, football,.. - the passion, the chants, the flags,.. the match is on the field, the show is the crowd. And it's simply amazing and funny as hell. Bring this with your friends next time in the stadium. You'll see: it's contagious. All will follow.. but remember: passion is fire! ;-)
“They don’t do it every game”… they do and football gets much crazier
8:00 I hope building codes for arenas and stadiums take this into account
Europe games.....first is in Greece, then in Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda).....yes, the floor is shaking. Thats the passion for the Club
The fact is that they dont pay for experience as you said they pay to support their club they sing to support their club the light torches to support their team they do all of those to boost the morale of the team and the sad reality is that this stopped happening in recent years i mean they still support their team but they dont go that hard as they did before
Wait till you see the football fans in Europe lmao. Don’t get me wrong the basketball fans are insane but the football fans are just a bigger mass. Imagine this in 70000 seats stadium
Our players here get hyped especially if they themselves went to games as kids and experienced the atmosphere. The fans can make a difference. 2nd clip you've watched is from Red Star in my home city Belgrade.
USA: Sport field EUORPE: Battlefield
America have hand waves in stadiums, Europe have seismic events in stadiums
I want to see an NBA team go to one of those Euro sites. How about the NBA and the Euro League champs play.
8:02 Oh there we are 😁 You cant imagine how loud that is.. No earphones can match, literally you can hear it in any part of the city just open your window.. And its a 3mil people city
"you have the wave" right 😂greetings frol Aris Greece (the first video clip from Europe)
This is not Europe basket-ball but eastern european basket-ball, it's different 😆 I can assure you in France it's not like that. The eastern europeans are really passionate and also because the clubs are the same than in football (soccer for you). Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, Fenerbahce etc these clubs have their football and their basketball club so the fans are usually supporting both (because they support the club, not the sport)

Hi Just to explain a bit :) First european basketball game was olympiacos ( greece ) playing at home, but the other game was not turkey 😁 It was in belgrade ( serbia ) , crvena zvezda was hosting Cibona ( croatia ) After any years of trying, "the west" talked us into playing in some fictional league, to make up for war, 30 years ago.. To your question about chanting distracting the players: Yes but that's kinda the point. Your team gets fired up and the opposing side is just playing around a 130 dB loud crowd against them.

The stadiums are designed like that to absorb impact think of it like earthquake resistant buildings of it was built too firm it'll crumble against the jumping pressure so they designed it to actually embrace impact in order to not collapse

It is every game. Before the game starts, during the game, during the breaks, after the game ends. If you're anywhere near that stadium around the time of a game, you will hear them singing the same thing non-stop for hours. It's cool. Intimidating. VERY loud. And you get sick of it very quickly lol.
In Europe, it's normal to bring fireworks, flares, be topless jumping singing all at the same time, no matter what sport it is. Ultra - From father to son
Though I’m from Belgium I can’t say I like the European atmosphere more. In the USA a basketball game is family event, in Europe it’s a hooligan thing and all about creating bad names destroying stuff and ruining the match.

Let's be honest, this type of celebration can be found in Europe, South America, Africa, and the Middle East. In the USA, if you make noise, you end up in jail. For most of us, It is passion, not a business. I have been to several sports on several stadiums/courts, and I never left disappointed. I like some Arab African chants, very political against their governments. The lyrics are touching af.
