I was so immersed in that I felt like I was back in centuries old. It was amazing.
You've missed the best bit mate, the procession from Westminster Abbey, down The Mall, past the Palace and on to Wellington Arch. Whatever anyone's feelings on the monarchy, that was proper history in action.
As a patriotic Brit, it's just been incredible. The day of the funeral was declared a bank holiday here in the UK a few days before. 🙏🇬🇧🙏
it was 20 miles of crowds from London to Windsor spraying the roads with flowers for her it took 1hr to get there and there was no gaps where there where no people :)
she lived in WINDSOR so many people who lived in Windsor knew her the pony you see waiting is Emma PRINCE Philip pony her corgis were waiting for her as well bless them
In response to your question about businesses being closed. Yes, most businesses have been closed today. Very eery and quiet today all over the country, with little traffic on the roads. This was an event watched by 4.5 billion people worldwide, that tells you how special she was. The UK will take a long, long time to get over this. Everybody is upset and this great nation will never quite be the same again. RIP Your Majesty, and God save the King. 🇬🇧
Yes, it was a public holiday in the UK today. Two interesting facts about the hearse -it was specially designed for this occasion, with input from the late Queen herself who wanted to be sure that her coffin would be visible to everyone who wanted to see it. And it doesn’t have a number (registration) plate. The monarch’s official car doesn’t have one.
Your passion for the funeral is a powerful statement in itself.
Our Majesty the Queen pledged her life to the people of our country and she did that right up to the end of her life. RIP Queen Elizabeth II❤🇬🇧 God bless the King ❤🇬🇧 God bless America❤🇺🇸 Coming from the UK ❤🇬🇧

Connor, absolutely love the way that you appreciate history…in any form. Ancient or Modern. That’s why I love your channel. You are one of the few Americans I have ever come across that understands the relevance of tradition.
You asked a question about what was open. No pubs bars restaurants or supermarkets, shops etc all closed. I had an onocology appointment today. It was the only one open I think. 11am so I missed the first bit. The tvs in the waiting area all showing the funeral. The Surgeons and nurses kept sitting to watch. Today was a national holiday and will be paid for. People who do work usually get double time in pay or time off later. Did you notice that in certain areas of London, they removed traffic lights and signs. This is because the procession is so wide. Today made me proud to be a UK citizen. The reception the night before was really unusual. All the Kings and Queens of the world were in attendance and had to come by bus. But your president had to bring 5 SUVs. Then his staff were really rude to the Palace staff. It's no reflection on yourself of course. But he could have met all the leaders of the world on those buses lol. So nice to see reactions from across the pond to our medieval practices. Have a great day.
Grief is the price we pay for love.. quote from Queen Elizabeth II after her beloved Philip passed away after 74 years of marriage..our nation truly understands those words today as we grieve for our Queen.
If you want an emotional round up to the whole 10 days, Kirsty Young’s monologue to close the BBC’s coverage was something else.

I heard that, it brought tears to my eyes, beautiful.
Today is my birthday, and it was a very memorable one. The Queen visited my small town in Northern Ireland in 2012, it was the 25th Anniversary of the Enniskillen Bombing, where she and Prince Philip opened our new hospital. The queen went to the church, then walked across and into the chapel. The struggle in NI is a religious one, and the queen was the powerhouse of integration.

Hello from the US, I wasn't surprised in the least. First, my condolences to you. I have always loved her as if she was also my Queen, history of the Royal Family but not in the Disney Princess story way but respect for the real people, I tribute that to Her Majesty and especially her love of horses and her corgis, labs, etc. Since the 70's (I was born in later 60's) I have watched every live event, setting up camp in front of tv, unplug phone, complete coverage of all wedding and funerals since and countless doc's always interested in history all the way back a few 100 years. I know I'm not the only American that feels like we must have lived there in a previous life, I hope you do not see this as weird but for the honest love and respect that is hard to convey. If I were there I would have been in that line to pay my respect and been along processions. My heart sunk on the news of her passing. I am disabled now home 24/7, so I have been glued. I loved seeing and learning the personal choices she chose and planned for this past week.

It’s incredibly moving to see all the people lining the route to pay their respects to HM the Queen. Being from the Netherlands, also a kingdom, it’s not surprising. Our royal house isn’t as well known, so there would be less international attention, but on a national level we would see the same outpouring of support.

And we are a 'King'dom once more. Such a painful week for those of us who felt her loss very deeply. But our new King will do the job well and serve his people with dignity and compassion. He was taught by the best. I'm just relieved it went without a hitch and that the foreign guests are safe and well. Security nightmare that was handled incredibly well.
Today was declared a bank holiday and most businesses were closed - at least for the funeral . The service at Westminster Abbey was the State funeral , the service at Windsor was the final Commital . Both were moving , certainly I can say whenever I went outside for air I didn't see anyone on the streets of even hear a vehicle . I am thinking most who couldn't make it to the event were watching on tv . A fitting tribute to our Queen . Thank you for your respectful reaction.
I have to admit, it was after where this video cuts off I got teary. As the hearse arrived at Windsor Castle The Queen's pony was there, she last rode a few months ago, and a footman with her corgis then at the end of the service at St George's Chapel Windsor seeing Her coffin lower into the Royal Vault. Today has been a national Bank Holiday majority of places including schools and shops closed. Thanks for your respectful coverage of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
It's been a sad day today. Like losing one of my own family. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us. Much appreciated 🙏
I still burst into tears, I miss our Queen. I don't do change well at the best of times but she will be missed. Still serving us after death through the choices she made from choosing to die in Scotland, her gift to us, through to the choices in music and guests she had, still serving. Thank you ma'am. x
Great and respectful reaction as always. Shame it ended before Windsor as the crowds were amazing. Most chain stores closed all day or part of the day (opening at 5pm). Many people commented that it was like Christmas Day as it was so quiet, but without the presents. I guess for non-Brits, it's about someone giving their life to serve the country, not just a term in office and without the politics.
Thankyou for showing so much respect. God save the King.
RIP HM Queen Elizabeth II ,Thank you very much ma'am for your devoted and unwavering service of 70 years to the UK,Canada,Australia,New zealand , other realms , territories and the crown dependencies and of course the wider family of the commonwealth of nations .Your glorious memories will always be remembered with undiluted pleasure. Moan all they like but that whole 10 days was worth every penny .Proud to be British this last 2 weeks ,all smashed it out of the park & gave Her Majesty a send off no one will forget ,after covid & heartbreak of not being abe to go to funerals ,we needed this .
Hi Connor, the throwing of flowers is a new phenomenon that started with Princess Di's funeral. It now seems that this will be a new 'tradition' It was not so in the Scottish trip to Edinburgh. That was more respectful, folks just stood in respect, no whooping or swaths of social media phone cams as compared to the drive to Windsor. I guess I'm getting older/mature in outlook? Cheers DougT

Thankyou Conor for your genuine interest - you have caught a glimpse of the depth of the affection and respect in which Queen Elizabeth is/was held. Contrary to some of the nonsense we get thrown at us, we do not worship our monarchs, they are respected but they have to earn the affection of the people. I swore the military oath of allegiance when I was 23 - as I've grown old with the Queen - my formal oath has slowly been transformed into complete dedication. No politician could do that. Bless you for being a friend.
There was a second procession along the Long Walk to Windsor Castle. That was also stunning and a beautiful scene. There was then another service in St. George's Chapel and her coffin was then lowered into the Royal Crypt. The Royal Family had a private service at 7.00 pm where she was laid to rest in George VI Chapel alongside Prince Phillip and her parents and sister.
"Change in mood" - yes there was, the service in Westminster was heavy with grief, but when the coffin left it felt that she had been liberated - even the music changed.

Personally I think cheering on a funeral procession is inappropriate. I understand people are confused and don't know how to behave but times have changed, this is the 3rd monarch buried in my lifetime. The flower throwing and and applause are new(post Lady Di) and allow some public participation. The cheering should be reserved for the new Monarch. Only my opinion.
Monday was a national holiday in the UK, Canada, and NZ. Thursday will be a holiday in Australia, when memorial services are held there.
Most stores where closed and some reopened after the funeral at 5pm
It's a national bank holiday and even where I work in an outpatient hospital. A lot of departments/clinics got cancelled/rebooked etc so I was not needed at reception (for those wondering, a lot of appointments got brought forward). Also if you think the car with flowers is a beautiful image. Check out the videos (if any) of Diana's car being driven through towns 25 years ago.

They had her horse out and when she went by it lifted its foot , her dogs too , the next part is worth a look, all the military, horses and all join the procession
The next part is amazing! The soldiers accompany the hearse to Windsor Castle 🏰
Your respect for HM is much appreciated. She was a great lady and will be missed by thousands. I hope you can watch the hearse travelling the up the Long Walk to Windsor Castle. A sight that has to be seen to be believed. Once again thank you for the respect you show to our great Queen
The day was regarded as a "Bank Holiday" ... Meaning that stores were only open on sunday hours, 10am to 4pm. But, here in my town no where was open. Pubs were closed, take away restaurants were closed, everywhere was just closed. I only live in a small village so I don't know what it was like in major towns and cities.
The final public ceremony at Windsor was hard hitting. Especially the taking back of the crown, center, orb and breaking of the wand signifying her rule as Queen was at an end. The last piper walking into the distance, being the queens own piper who woke her every morning, played her to rest. It was incredibly moving.
I was at the Long Walk, by the main gates of the Castle, It was an 8 hour round trip in one day but worth it, my she rest in heavenly peace with Phillip
Sometimes, you just don't have to say anything. Basically the whole country came to a standstill, all major businesses closed, in fact the only places I seen that were open were small corner shops (your version would be like a 7-eleven) and some petrol (gas) stations. My wife and twin girls wanted to go to her parents to watch, so we went in my car...... usually about a 1 hour drive, yesterday because the roads were so quiet, 1/2 hour. I think I seen 3 other vehicles on the roads. Oh, and when watching the tv, I didn't see any commercials - - - that was weird
I HAVE TO SAY THANK YOU CONNOR FOR DOING THESE REACTIONS!!!! Just watching this again as had a moment of wanting to watch the queens funeral again but in parts thanks for doing some of the aspects of it!! (Reason ive come here again is couldn't go to my own aunt's funeral in last week, too far away) Im in major tears watching it again, still cant belive shes gone, king charles is doing an amzing job but no one will replace the queen as pretty much all citizens of britian will say, met her once due to a really special moment in my life i will never forget even tho i was very young and only had a breif encounter with her majesty, still feel its like lost the best grand parent ever, dont know why putting myself through all this again, watched the full 11 hours on the bbc on the day, in tears for most of it, maybe as was first funeral I could actually see after covid as lost alot of family due to covid that couldnt go to due to lockdowns or them being abroad
My mate was working today as a Queens Guard for the very last time
The procession drove past Hyde Park barracks, home of The Household Cavalry mounted Regiment, the soldiers not on duty stood outside to pay their respects. All buisnessess were closed untill at least 5pm or all day, the televised event went on for over 6 hours and there was no breaks for adverts, even on channels that was not showing it there was no adverts, a picture of the Queen was shown in the advertising slot instead.
The Hearse is a one off made by Jaguar Land Rover and The Queen had a big say in its design such as the shape, the windows and the lights inside so that the coffin could be clearly seen day or at night.
The Queen was wonderful in life, and now, in death, despite genuine sorrow and many tears, she has given the British people a huge surge of pride in our country. Long may it continue. R.I.P......... long live the King.
The day of the funeral was declared a bank holiday but more akin to Christmas Day and Boxing day. Most stores were closed, though some reopened at 5pm I work for the NHS and was supposed to be oncall from 5PM, but as support services and some clinics were closed for the day, I had to start work at 8am, although I only got 4 calls all day. I was able to watch the funeral whilst working.
I still can’t get my head around that the queen is no longer with us ,I didn’t think it would affect me the way it has
You may not know this - the State Hearse was new and the design finalised by the Queen herself, created to give a clear view - one of her favourite sayings was "I must be seen to be believed"!
The area you motioned is beautiful is Runneymede, very near Windsor and where the Magna Carta was signed. The river is the Thames.
We were granted a Bank Holiday (Public Holiday) and most shops/offices were shut. Some pubs etc were open and showed the funeral on television.
I have to add that the very last ceromony at Windsor Castle is the final act. You must watch. It shows the handing back of the royal jewellery on the coffin. It shows the breaking of the staff of office and the handing back her Queens color. King Charles will have his own flag. Then the coffin is lowered to the tomb for a few hours and the family had a private service and she will be buried with the Duke of Edinburgh He will be raised out of the vault with her. They go together into the family vault. With king george and Elizabeth and Queen Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh and her sister. The Princess Margaret. Please watch because it explains the rest of the day and answers many questions.

The queen looked just like my grandmother who raised me. I always liked the fact that to see a picture of my grand mother I just had to look at some money. I will miss her.
There was a Bank Holiday announced for today (national holiday), it's up to businesses themselves if they choose to close but the vast majority did, which no doubt accounted for the massive turnout. The whole trip is about 26 miles, and the entire way it was lined with people, not just in London. A lot of flights were also cancelled so the airspace was quiet for the funeral, with the exception of the obnoxious helicopter filming it of course.
I’ve only just seen your video. I am grateful for the respect you showed during our Queen’s final journey , I miss having the Queen in our world their will never be another like her. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
That was an especially lovely reaction....I am pleased that I just watched that with you (even though I only saw it a few hours ago 🙄) It was a good section of footage to choose to watch, that stretch of lane (in Windsor, I think, by then) and I know exactly what you mean about the image of that car, strewn with pretty flowers (and I really thought you were going to mention the Police Officer on the right, with his head bowed but facing away) It is a shame that clip didn't continue a little further, because the march with the horses along that country lane was one of the memorable scenes I thought.
Appreciated, as always. It's a bank holiday - not compulsory, but businesses cannot force their staff to work. Watched from the Mall. Very moving, pretty emotional. Ex-serviceman so I was there to say goodbye to my old boss. Respect, Ma'am and thank you for your life of service. God save the King.
Every business was closed, from large firms like McDonald's, to independent shops. The only ones open in my town were a few Polish shops and a Turkish barbers, maybe they didn't feel the need to close, not sure? Bigger establishments like cathedrals, churches, event halls, theatres and cinemas were screening the funeral live. Some Pubs joined in too. You could watch from 9am for free. This was done for many reasons but mostly for people to share their grief within their community, especially helpful if you live alone, elderly and couldn't be in London. A heartbroken nation mourning and celebrating the life of our beloved Queen. Who, through the tears, will welcome our amazing King with love & hope. King Charles ||| is well travelled, learned greatly from his mother and has dedicated many many years to our inner cities and the youth. He set up the Princes Trust years ago, very successful for our younger generation. I, personally, have a new found optimism for our new Head of State. He's seen the worst of society's problems and sought to help change things. He's well grounded and chosen to use his privileged upbringing to influence others for the better. Queen consort Camilla will be by his side all the way. Xx Thank you for watching and being so interested and respectful. Love your videos Connor. (I swear you're getting a British sense of humour! I was born way back in 1975 and my very first memory is seeing The Queen at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire where my dad was serving during her Siliver Jubilee celebrations. I am nearly as old now as she was then.
I live in the west of the UK (Wales) but happen to be in London on the Friday, the day after she died. I popped down to Buckingham palace to get a feel for the mood. It’s not like anything I’ve seen before. Many people walking through Green Park holding flowers to lay in front of the palace. At the palace gates were thousands of people. It wasn’t silent by any means but there was a hush of sorts. Kind of put perspective on what had happened and how people felt now it was actually here.
As others have said it was a Bank Holiday today. That is, a national holiday with full paid leave. If you watch the Accession Council video again from last Friday week (Sep 9th), you'll see the King approve the proposal from the council.

Yes…..everywhere closed. It was made a Bank Holiday so everyone was off except emergency workers etc. All shops closed.
This trip the Queen made many times in an old car driven by herself with sunglasses and headscarf on, a place she loved, and she had the hearse go through many of the towns and villages for one final time, this took a couple of hours from London, usually people use the direct motorway route which might take half an hour.
Did you see Princess Anne went into a car behind the coffin, to fulfil her duty of escorting her mother from start to finish of her journey? The rest of the Royals got to Windsor a different route. Yes, the country closed down.

You will never see the like again and not a dry eye to be had in my house.
Thank you for saluting our Queen.❤
The Long Walk was so sad as they brought out her favourite pony, Emma. And the corgis were waiting at the end.
We loved our queen. When princess diana passed there was so many flowers thrown the driver had to stop on the motorway to remove some so that he could see to drive
You should have done the procession leading up to that, as it had much more sombre music and pomp etc.
I was really holding it together today. Then Emma the horse showed up.
Did you notice the Royal Barge with its flag flying at half-mast, plus the Royal Oarsmen were on the Thames at 6:35 in your video? This is where the Magna Carta was singed on 15th June 1215. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Carta

She was Queen most of my Adult life .All I can say is Thank You for everything Your Majesty. Love from Illinois
Also there were no adverts on any of the channels as a mark of respect. God bless the Queen, Long live the King.
A "bank holiday" does mean that non-essential businesses can close. Some have remained open to a limited extent - it's difficult for them in a case like this where it has of course been called at very short notice.
That journey to London is about 23 miles and there were crowds all the way. Today was a Bank Holiday and unusually, nearly all non-essential businesses shut for the whole day, including major supermarkets.
