One of the upsides of living in a tightly bound class system is that the only power the poor have is mocking the upper classes or ‘taking the piss’ as we call it. After thousands of years we’ve got it down to a fine art. What Ricky is doing is a mild version of what happens in every pub in Britain where people mock their families, friends, colleagues, politicians and royals and it’s much more savage than Ricky. As an example see Mickey Flanagan’s sketch Americans on you tube it’s a fairly mild piss take and the language is pretty strong but it does give an explanation of how our humour differs.

I wish people understood this more too. He doesn't get invited back every year by some sort of coincidence. They're human too (well, most of em) who just happen to enjoy acting. It makes me cringe when people act like Ricky is hijacking the show... he's literally ASKED to do this, and being paid for it. It's still funny tho

@SB GM I think it looks like they had the show, they filmed it, then they edited and played it back later. The audience reactions seem played up for effect, but it doesn't quite line up. It looks like they used generic moments, to try and create more controversy. Maybe it was live...but it really looks like it was merely filmed live, but later edited.

*How come so many words are bleeped or muted on US TV? I thought it was the land of the free and had a Constitution about freedom of speech and thought? In complete contrast, if it's on TV in the UK (where they don't have a written Constitution regarding freedom of speech) after 9pm, there's not a single word that I know of which would be bleeped or muted. Weird!*

@@suzanna6 Hi Suzie. So if that's the case (and I don't doubt what you say), why do _'regular Americans',_ by which I mean the general public, go along with the BS about living in the land of the free? Please don't misunderstand, I'm not having a go at ordinary Americans. Most of the ones I've met, I really like. I just don't understand why they continue to sell the USA's myth, when the UK, most of Western Europe, and my home country especially (the Isle of Man) allow far more freedoms to their people than America ever has. The one and only exception being the one about the right to bear arms. And as nations, we *all* feel a lot more secure living in a society where only the police carry guns, because overall, we (thankfully) still see them as _"the good guys"_ who are here to protect us from harm. But I appreciate that's a whole different subject. I'm not being pro or anti-firearms by the way, but let's be honest, the US is known globally (and sadly) as _"the mass shooting capital of the world"._ Surely Americans don't see that and relaxed gun laws as pure coincidence? Thanks for replying anway. Cheers.

@@ljdmanxfella5793 hey! Our freedoms are being squashed bit by bit and the "regular Americans" just go about their business without looking up or listening. Freedom of speech is being killed in most situations, especially social media. We do have more guns here but the licensed shooter be it marksman or hunter obey the laws. Guns are illegally sold in the streets daily but instead of targeting that politicians want to target the hunters and target shooters. God knows we have some real problems here. I just wish DC on the whole would stop trying to take our constitutional rights and flush them. Thanks man!

Meh, I'm not the biggest fan of Marvel - I like it mostly, but couldn't watch most of them again maybe one or two of them. But people really do need to feel special and above others, with all the self important petty nonsense about it. There were men who would have told you f off if you suggested they would cry at a movie, in tears in public with other men after Endgame crying with other men and women. Anyone that thinks a long story driven arc across many movies, with countless characters, all connected, and having a massive emotional and cultural impact on millions is any less cinema just because it makes a lot of money and isn't their kind of think is just pathetic. I have plenty of problems with some of the safer elements of a formula employed at times, but there's plenty they have done that is genuinely great as well.

Unless shes gone crazy woke over the last couple of years (I dunno if she has or not) it would fit very much with her personality. Even before woke was a thing her sense of humor was quite raw. Id not be surprised if she was absolutely loving every minute of this. I could be absolutely wrong tho, maybe she has gone woke as well and that was a fake smile.

Yeah...the "normies" (people who don't generally like anything 'non-real drama based') seem to think that people who like Marvel movies, or Lord of the Rings, etc... don't like anything else. It's...strange. When I point out that I watch all kinds of movies, and can have a conversation about all of their movies...but they can't have a conversation about any of "my movies", well, it's kinda fun to see them realize that THEY are the ones with "less knowledge" about films/movies. I mean, when you limit yourself to 50% of something because the rest of it is "childish", but the people who watch the "childish" movies ALSO watch your movies, so they have 100% of the knowledge...well.... 'just saying... ;)

Y would u hate Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Deniro and people like that. Neither of them acted like they hated it and neither one of them are accused of doing anything super Shady. So it seems like you just want to seem cool.

DiCaprio bangs on constantly about the environment while globetrotting in his private jet, so hypocrisy, he is actually a good actor. DeNiro become a mental TDS idiot, just show's how fake his acting is, all those tough roles he played and he was upset by some tweets. DeNiro isn't a good actor he plays the same character every time, Pacino was always better. I can divorce people from their politics , Roman Polanski is a convicted Rapist, that fled the US, but he is a very good director, does that mean i won't watch his films no, but it also means he should be deported back to the US and serve his time and actually pay for raping a child.
