Airplane! is a fantastic comedy, you really should watch it. Although it's from 1980 it has held up really well and I'm sure that you'll love the humour.

Airplane is absolutely brilliant. Every time you watch it, you'll notice something going on in the background that you never noticed before. Also, if you like British talking in French accents, you might want to try watching 'Allo Allo

If you like English people doing French accents, then The Pink Panther films are a must (unless you've seen them already). Peter Sellers was a master of the overexaggerated accent.

1:14 I just love the absolute dedication they all showed committing themselves to this being completely normal. Never once shying away (GEDDIT?) with a knowing wink. That's how it's done. Lived on both sides of the pond so I get the UK v US debate. If Adam Sandler had written this narrative he would have slapsticked it to death!!!

Yes, Airplane is brilliant but they have a lot of jokes based on some very old films (Since You Went Away, The Bridges At Toko Ri etc.) and if you haven't seen these you may not get all the jokes.

The castle where this is filmed is called Doune Castle....The 'I just want to sing' scene, 'Knights of the Round Table song', 'Knight killing the wedding' scene and the girls at 'Castle Anthrax' scene all filmed at Doune castle...If you ever get to go there it's a real treat...The staff told me that they get a lot of custom from Python fanatics...I've been to a lot of castles in the UK and this was the only one where I wasn't too interested in its medievel history...lol

03:19 I think the height of irony for this is that during the medieval period in which this is supposed to be set, the English royals and Lords would’ve all spoken French as their primary language, not English! 😂

According to the caption at the start of the movie it is supposedly set in 932 AD (or is that 93 squared). The Norman invasion wasn't until 1066 AD so Arthur and his knights would have spoken old English/Anglo-Saxon. Though, in keeping with the Arthurian legends themselves, the film is replete with anachronisms which don't correspond to that date eg the Black death, Flagellants and witch burning crazes were all from much later periods. On the other hand Arthur's use of "Run away" rather than "Retreat" is supposedly because that word didn't enter English until later than 932 AD plus of course it is funnier.
