So happy to see you finally get around to checking out the Bridge City Sinners, I saw them live here in Dublin Ireland a few months back, they blew my mind. Please check out more of their stuff, especially the live stuff.

Love this group. Came across them about 2 months ago and what I came up with to describe their sound is Punk Bluegrass. Seemed to fit as well as anything. 😊

That's a good take on it but I'm pretty sure they're Murderfolk. It's pretty much what you said just an official name I guess. You should check out Amigo The Devil. He has some pretty good music similar to this stuff as well!!

Bridge City Sinners is awesome... And they come to Denver occasionally and play with a local Denver band named Tejon Street Corner Thieves. Should check them out too! Whiskey is a good song..plus they rep Denver :)

If “Murder Folk” is a genre then you have to check out Jill Tracy Diabolical Streak. You may also want to check out the Diablo Swing Orchestra. When you get a classical Cellist that crosses a quartet with a Norwegian death metal band and a classically trained opera singer doing modern swing fusion.

Murderfolk is a sub genre of country folk music that tends to focus on dark topics like depression and death and sometimes murder ballads. One of my favorite genres tbh

So glad someone requested this and thank you BP for reacting to it. 💜 Seen their name before but never listened to them. Love the sound.. it's like getting original music from Post Modern Jukebox. I couldn't help but think of The Death South's In Hell I'll be in Good Company. It has a similar sound and is a seriously catchy tune.

And dark country is way darker then any violence in rap music. Check out Knoxville Girl by Louvin Brothers or Deliah by Johnny Cash. It's a horrible story, like watching a True Life murder show on tv only in a song. The dark side of songwriting. Just search murder ballads, it's dark but good. Check more of them

Murder ballads are a country and folk tradition-- from Wikipedia: "Murder ballads are a subgenre of the traditional ballad form dealing with a crime or a gruesome death. Their lyrics form a narrative describing the events of a murder, often including the lead-up and/or aftermath. The term refers to the content, and may be applied to traditional ballads, part of oral culture." ...you've likely heard many of them before--"Tom Dooley", Cocaine Blues", for something a bit more modern try Nick Caves "Where the Wild Roses Grow".... ...actually you might should make a date to watch that and react.

Dark Bluegrass is what I haveheard it referred too as well. That would be a fiddle....that is a difference between Fiddle and Violin and it has to do with how it is played. You also have some Banjo, Stand Up Bass, Mandalin and maybe one or two more instruments.

I love this group, too! Glad to see you reacted to them. Haven't found another band like them. Dark Louisiana Folk! Rock Bottom and Unholy Hymns are good as well.

I’m at 3mm rn but planning on going to 10mm. Nowhere near as big as hers lol

(In my opinion) Not their strongest outing. "Siren's Song" "Witch's Wrath" and "Rock Bottom" are my favs by them.

Hi, if you are curious about to discover some metal music you can try this band Whitechapel with the song "when a demon defiles a witch". It's violent (music and video) and brutal but it's beautiful too. I'm not sure if you could appreciate it. It leave me speechless the first time I saw the video. I talk you about this one because the clip "devil like you" remind me the Whitechapel video clip.

The music is not new. It's used in burlesque and has a French vibe. There are "mad" burlesque tracks that are very similar. Those have been around many a year. They are dark.

Goth just came from all the gay kids that got bullied out of the 2nd wave punk scene. Shoegaze, and Dark Wave are the stereotypical music styles for goth. Probably the best was Corpus Delicti

yea thats crazy you did this band I remember diving down this rabbit hole in like 2020 just like 2 years ago roughly and she was FAT? I mean shes lost at least 140lbs easy! They are really good musicians I agree but the content is wicked there is a song she sings about living out the after life as the devils little whore! Its another one that drawls you in because she starts out singing sweet nice tune and playing the banjo and then the hook come in and she does a metal scream roar voice like she gets possessed or something talking about being Satans Whore lol crazy! Hey but shout out to her for losing all that weight and getting healthy!

Yeahhhh. . . . Not like'n the lobes man. I think the female body is a natural work of art and I'm fine with some modifications (a few tattoos, tasteful piercings) but some people go too far and just wreck it all up. It's like some women experienced something in their lives that made them hate themselves and have a desire to make themselves look as ugly as possible. Or maybe they're trying to make themselves look as unhuman as possible.

In fact I liked the music and I have no problem with people who want to do those things to themselves I just personally don't find it attractive in the slightest bit. I know there are people who that kind of thing is right up their alley and I have no problem with that. It's just a matter of personal opinion. Sorry if I offended you, it was not my intent. PS I have a few tattoos myself and a piercing so I'm not against the culture. I just feel it can be taken too far for my tastes.
