We also have a cat watching television with us. He prefers local nature movies with birds and small animals in them, or ball games, especially soccer and snooker.

My grandparents collect cat clocks of all kinds. When I was young I would love to join them in the hunt for antique cat clocks.

I absolutely loved this episode! Thank you for giving the cat shelter attention. I will be sending a donation to them.

I have loved cats my whole life...I have a nice little collection of cat stuff ..I would like to donate it to the museum when I die. Many thanks to Mr. Sims for helping all the well deserving felines.

I loved cats growing up so much my teachers in kindergarten had a conference with my parents because of my “concerning cat obsession” 😂😂 they were like “everything she does is cats. She draws cats. She talks about cats. She’s obsessed!”

The antique mall was an old school house.I saw the bldg in the 1960's and didn't go back until a few years before it closed.Dr Sims took me on a small tour of the museum,he was so nice and gracious!!!

Our cats are part of the family. We talk to them, play with them, care for them, and they also care for us. So obviously a museum right to my heart. Dr. Harold Sims has created a beautiful location, inside and out, cramped with our beloved felines. Respect Mr. Sims, and very great of you to start the museum and rebuild it when it should be moved. i really do appreciate a quiet environment, filled with the soft meows of our friends. Could'nt enter a museum of the house dog, with constant drooling and barking all over the place (Ok, i do know lots of people and kids like and love dogs, just saying that for me and lots of other people that energy goes into cats). Oh Jacob, your remark about the movie "Corpse Grinders" triggered my curiosity of course. i found it in Imbd and i think you'll like it. i'll be watching it tonight! Since you ask about Felix: Yes, i've seen those cartoons in my youth. In spite Felix being a very, very naughty cat, i loved those cartoons and quickly wanted to find out what Felix was up to now. Today lots of those can easily be found on youtube.

The original Felix the Cat was a popular animated cartoon created by Otto Mesmer for Pat Sullivan, in the 1920s. It was redesigned by Joe Oriolo for the series of television cartoons, that was introduction to the character for many of us of a certain age.

Oh Jacob I’m so happy to hear that you are a cat lover, I kinda thought so because I’ve seen you with Cammy. I’m a HUGE CAT LOVER, the first word I spoke was “MEOW” so my dear Mother said, I also have an incredible collection that I’ve been collecting all my life and I’m 71. Can’t wait to see this Ty Ty Ty Jacob. I saw so much of what I have, loved the carousel cat, there was one at Riverside Park in Agwam MA my sister and I would fight over who would get to ride it lol. The cabbage Patch Cats are called Koosas. Oh wow Calo cat food, we feed our cats that in the 60’s, Felix was way before your time 50’s or 60’s I watched him all the time. I have a Morris for president and wear it at every election. OMG the gift shop, where’s the Uhaul? This was always my dream to have a cat shelter, I rescue to this day, also have a colony of 14, we spay neuter and give shots, they love my backyard, also provide shelters from the storm so to speak, my oldest cat was 21 when she passed, loved that little Amber. My husband heard a kitten in the wall a week and a half ago, he got him out, took him to the Vet, Memorial Cat Hospital, a feline exclusive in Houston. Unfortunately we lost Prof Stokes last Friday my heart is breaking, I bottle feed him every 4 hours for a week😿💔😿 when I was a sophomore my biology teacher dissected a live pregnant cat, then killed the kittens and the mother, I threw up all over the biology lab, my Mother came to pick me up and asked to see the Principal and the evil biology teacher and reamed them out, my Mother was the Hero of the town, the kids were so proud of her, so was I, very special woman🥰🤗🐈‍⬛🐾🐕Thus was your best video ever, now a pin with a cat and opossum please 🙏 n your shop that would be wonderful, you must take Jen💜✔️

Purrfect Jacob! I had no idea there was a cat museum. I loved it! My favorite cat was Kliben Kat. I didn't see anything of him. (I had twin bedding sheet sets.) What a treat to see the Opossums too! Just loved it! Thank you Jacob!

I saw an excellent documentary about cats here on KZread called Follow That Cat. It details the comings and goings of house cats in Germany. Pretty interesting.

My cat Marlee Patsy Cline was feral. We had to live trap her and now she’s my shadow. She is my baby. You’d never know she was feral.

I was recently up there myself. I also went to the original location. Harold is such a cool guy. So glad the museum is back open, its a real treasure

Around 1936, Felix the Cat had a famous cartoon The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg" in Technicolor. He did have a famous TV Show in the 1950s and a feature film by 1988. Many of his cartoons are now in public domain.

Cats are my favorites. I love all the cat novelties there.

I had a medical doctor that also treated Mennonite people with natural remedies. For my extreme stress he told me to drink a cup of catnip tea every morning. After a couple days you can actually feel the relaxation in your body. When I transferred there was a guy that... really needed it for agitation. My boss would tell me to take a break and bring him a cup. It really helps.

I remember watching your other video about the Callaway cat shelter when it came out. So glad that they were finally able to open the museum. I have a request, if you are New York there's a museum for dogs. I think it would be neat to see. As someone who can't travel, I really appreciate all these places you get to visit.

These type of museums need something unexpected and exciting other than just shelf ornaments i reckon. Draw the punters in who might not normally go in

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve heard about the Catman for years since moving to Bryson City in 2001. Saw the museum many times from the road but never stopped. I love that the gift shop has a variety of kitty items.

I really hope you'll be able to visit the Palm City/Stuart area in Florida. I know I've commented about it before, but there there are two attractions there that I think you'd enjoy. They're the Florida Oceanographic Center of Florida and the Elliot Car Museum. They are right across the street from each other. Also there's a cheese steak sandwich food truck right outside the Elliot that's pretty good too. As for this video, omg, I want to adopt Gilbert so bad!! He looks so sweet and lovable! Plus that belly!

OMG! I don't live far from there at all, and I had no idea there was a cat museum there! I want to go!

Bright Eyes cat food looks familiar as well as 9 Lives and Tender Vittles. Often, though, my cat got whatever was around the house like table scraps or even raw yolks. My parents did not accept that I had made a stray my pet. It was only allowed in the basement and got tossed outside in the winter. I would sneak it back in when she would paw at the window. It gets worse from there. My poor Mildred.

I had a cat named Morris one time, named it because it looked like the 9 lives spokes cat, only difference is it was no way a bit finicky, it had a sweet disposition. Unfortunately he died of liver cancer.

As soon as I saw that pinball machine, I knew it had to be "Bad Cats" and I was right. There'a pinball club that has open house nights once a week near where I live, and they have the Bad Cats pinball machine. I always found it amusing to hit the ramp in the center over and over again, because it sings, "MEOW meow meow MEOW!" along with the music. On a side note, the guy who designed it absolutely half fasted it. He hated working on it. He hated designing it. And he hated the company he worked for and was just designing it so he could fulfill his contract and get out the door. He wasn't a happy camper at the time.
