I love the fact they're friends and so funny together! It proves you don't have to be mean-spirited in order to participate in these talent competitions.

I need them to have a show and just give commentary on everything going on in the world. Their juxtaposed chemistry is infectious.

He said it with humor but I think he's serious. I'm pretty sure he's on meds for anxiety. He's mentioned this in other podcasts and interviews.

They have great chemistry together, would love to see them host a talk show together! Hope someone makes it happen! 🙌🏾

You read my mind! I would like to see them host a show together - but not just a talk show. It has to be a variety show including singing guests. Would love it! So happy to see these two defied the odds. You see so many sad stories about contestants in the national competitions and how tragedy happens after their season is over. These two still look great!

Ikr!!!? I could listen to them talk for hours. Different in a lot of ways but complement each other well! I love Clay's laugh & Ruben's laid back confidence & sense of humor. Made it feel like we're in the room with them.

They are simply the best. They are still humble not fake. Love them both. Best season ever

I watched American Idol from the first day it came on. I love the both of them. They are both amazing singers and they are so humble.

This was a great interview. Their friendship was genuine, “friendship goals” as young people say.

From talking to other fans that know Clay personally, I have heard from them that Clay is on meds for anxiety. Antidepressants do help with anxiety so I'm not surprised that comment was in there. Back in 2006 was very open about being on antidepressants. In 2014 when he ran for Congress, Clay was very open about being on Xanax. So I'm not surprised that he would still be on meds for anxiety.

They don't have it on TV in the country I live in now and don't have one anyway, so I catch up via Facebook and KZread. I want Iam Tongi to win this year and love Lucy Love and We Ani as well. 😊

That was a fun season. Wasn't the vote really close. Nice to see that the friendship has continued, and they are both doing well.

Yes, and the VOTE was too close to call!😮 So much so, when Rolling Stone magazine put Clay on the cover, ppl had protested and got Ruben on the cover! RS got TWO covers out of it!! BUT they BOTH deserved it!!

@@sandraandrews9907 The vote was close but not too close to call. There were 38 million viewers, 24 million votes, and Ruben won by over 130,000. The Rolling Stone interview with Clay even says that Ruben won by 134,400. People were pissed that Clay got the Rolling Stone cover because he was the loser. The general feeling was, "Even when the black guy wins, he still loses." Rolling Stone and American Idol saw Clay as more marketable. Why else would Rolling Stone choose to showcase the loser before showcasing the winner? American Idol fully expected Clay to win, and they fumbled Ruben's surprise win. I'm not sure if anyone "deserves" to win a TV singing competition, but Ruben won. Ruben has never been treated like a winner. He always gets treated like the guy who stole Clay's victory.

@@deshaunx776 i think a lot of it is that there was controversy over supposed votes getting lost because of busy signals that may have changed the result. Clay won the votes every week from wild card on so some think the results weren’t correct

@@Maryroachguilbeaux doesn’t matter what some think and who couldn’t get through the lines. Reuben won and those are the facts. Unfortunately people are butt hurt and didn’t want to accept it. Reuben also had a huge fan base that showed up, something American Idol didn’t anticipate.
