I remember when I was little watching my Gramma who couldn’t walk for 10 years get up and start dancing during a Pentecostal tent meeting.. she’s been walking ever since.. I remember uncontrollably crying and laughing.. I’ve experienced some unbelievable things and since then I’ve been learning to discern and make sure that my faith is on a solid biblical foundation.. but I chased after those experiences until my faith was absolutely shipwrecked.. we always have to make sure we’re in Gods word so we don’t go wild chasing after the gifts rather than focusing on the gift giver..

No, that was what Jesus came to do, to find and save the lost. Our goal is to go and disciple nations...saving the lost has never been our assignment. That's been a major issue with us from the begining...so many leaders have taught what they were taught and not what His Word teaches. for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10 NKJV And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. It is interesting that the holy laughter manifestation. I would call it "goofy" too if I had not seen it myself. My wife experienced it while at a conference. She experienced it while battling depression and was angry at God for being diagnosed with a chronic health condition. She went forward to the altar and started laughing uncontrollably. I fell into this early on in my salvation journey and it nearly broke me. Expecting the supernatural with no solid foundation in the word/a relationship with God is dangerous. After years of believing for miracles with all my heart and seeing none, I ended up questioning God because I didn’t know what was real and what was sensationalized. At some point, I didn’t even believe if He was real or if we made Him up. I thank God I didn’t complete fall out of faith but I’m still building my relationship with Him after that major blow.

We are not of them that draw back to perdition, I came to the faith having witnessed the miraculous healing of my once blind father. Miracles exist, if you do not see one happen ask God what you are missing. But this cope out because of unbelief is not acceptable.

He is God... not a genie. He still heals. He still delivers. He still provides. He still leads us beside still waters and sets a table for us in the presence of our enemies. He still speaks. He still reveals secrets. I don't know why you didn't see even one miracle... is it possible you did but you weren't looking in the right place? Not to be trite. But I talk to people all the time who tell me extraordinary things as if it was just some bizarre coincidence or a humdrum experience... and until I would be astonished and they would realize... oh! That WAS a miracle. Just a thought @Humble_Homie.

@@andinda7915 That's amazing that God produced a miracle that led you into faith in him! That's why Jesus and his disciples did healings and miracles, to bring attention and glory to the Father. It was in his will, to have his message spread far and wide. At times, it's also his will to leave a thorn in the flesh, and to say "my grace is sufficient for thee". At times, he lets a righteous man lose his home, children, possessions and health for his ultimate glory (Job). We can ask and believe in faith, but God must also will it. It must be for a good work in his kingdom, and ultimately bringing someone (like you!) to saving faith is certainly a glory to the Father. It's the ultimate miracle! To be saved from death and hell, and to have eternal life with the Father. Miracles can and do happen. But I think the person who posted means (and I've experienced) the idea that it's ALWAYS God's will to heal people, but we do not see that to be true in the Bible. I, for one, grew immensely in my sickness, and have a stronger walk with the Lord than if he'd just removed it right away. We can believe, we may see miracles, but God knows the things we don't and can do a good work in suffering (Paul says we boast in our sufferings!) and so for some, we will get our ultimate healing in eternity. ❤️ The gospel is the most important thing. If God uses miracles to bring faith, that's one of the amazing ways he works. He does have compassion, and he will bring relief at times-- but His will is to refine us spiritually, and that can happen in suffering. He doesn't always take away the pain or sickness; but it's amazing when he does, and it brings him glory!! And, it's just as big of a miracle when I see someone's heart change because the Holy Spirit convicted them out of their life of sin, and brought them to repentance! How amazing that is!!

I was a Baptist, didn’t believe that the Holy Spirit was “for today”. This charismatic Pentecostal man prayed for me, that the Holy Spirit would “fill me up” and for the next 4 hours or so I literally felt drunk and couldn’t stop laughing and I swear I’m not making this up. All of a sudden I knew this was more to what I was taught about the Holy Spirit. I left a charismatic church after attending for about 15 months. The pastor is amazing, he speaks biblical truth but some of the leaders within the church are the goofy charismatics that give charismatics a bad name. It got so hard to attend because some of the things they were doing was so distracting and a lot of times I left feeling like a failure because I wasn't crying uncontrollably, speaking prophesy, laughing in the spirit, speaking in tongues and so on...But one of the moments that where I finally had enough was when a woman walked by carrying a sword 😳 the next week she was running around with a pole with a ribbon on it. Crazy stuff. The last service we watched, the campus pastors of the main church ( there are 3 campuses) were flailing around laughing uncontrollably and one of them commanded the lead pastor to do impartation on the congregation. So people ran up and he literally just walked past them and touched their heads. It looked like a celebrity on stage walking by shaking hands, just that nonchalantly. My husband and I had enough. But God, He led us back to our home church and it has been the best thing for us. I think maybe we needed to see how things were elsewhere to truly know God has been where we were all along.

But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. I Corinthians 13:10 NKJV. Has the perfect come yet? Nope. I am at the point of being done with the critical side of this. I don’t care if someone starts doing hand stands and cart wheels. If they get up and are changed (walk away more like Jesus) then I’m going to give God the glory. I’m in the north east of the US. It is dead here. I was around 20 years ago when things were happening. I drove to Toronto airport Christian fellowship for a weekend. It was fun. I don’t think anything special happened to me there but things came from there. Yes, a lot of stuff is wrong. We need Jesus and everyone has a starting point. I wish everyone came into Christianity with full and accurate theology. It isn’t going to happen. Fall in love with Jesus and Lear and grow from there. I believe there is a Revival coming. I hope it happens again. I think this needs to be big tents and fields and people seeking the real Jesus.

I hate the term slain in the spirit but I understand the sentiment, also isn’t there like a pretty huge precedent for falling out in the presence of God in the Bible? (Gen. 17:3, Joshuah 5:14-15, Ezekiel 1:28 and 3:23, Daniel 8:17 and 10:15, Matthew 17:6, Acts 9:4 and 26:14 and Revelation 1:17) Also being filled with laughter is biblical too, right? (Genesis 21:6, Job 8:21, Psalm 126:2, Ecclesiastes 3:4, Luke 6:21) I agree people get weird and there are definitely a lot of abuses but to say that people who fall out in the presence of God or laugh are weird when there is biblical precedent seems unfair

@@paulajames6149 I don’t know if you had a chance to look at the references I provided in my initial comment but Job 8:21 literally says He will “He will fill your mouth with laughing, and your lips with rejoicing.” That word “filled” is the Hebrew word “mālā’” which means to fill to fullness or overflow. Also, self control does not follow the definition many people attempt to apply to it. Self control means to allow you’re entire self to be moved or motivated by the Holy Spirit rather then the flesh. If it were to not be weird (as many apply that scripture) you would have to get rid of most of the Bible. There is no “self control” (by that regard) in speaking in tongues, asking a sick man if he wants healing, marrying a prostitute, dying on a cross, putting spit in a blind man’s eyes, breaking open a roof and lowering someone who needed healing through it, covering an altar with water and then calling down fire from heaven.. etc etc.. none of the great stories of faith in the Bible exercised self control as “being reformed” rather their self control was “being conformed into the image of God through faith in Jesus”

There's actually a scene in The chosen that hit me pretty hard the other day. It was Jesus talking to someone ,I don't remember who, but he said not everyone is healed but Jesus could heal everyone. Sometimes your testimony is not being healed but still praising God through the process and the tough times that you have with chronic illness or whatever it is. You're suffering in this world remind you that you there will be no suffering in heaven and for the rest of eternity. I've had young-onset Parkinson's since 2011, when I was forty-two years old. A lot of people have prayed for my healing but I kind of have a feeling that I may be one of those who are not healed but I still praise God and thank him for every blessing I have every day. I am working on starting a podcast to help others with Parkinson's and to educate and mentor people because I was a nurse for almost twenty years in this is a very complicated illness 2 walkthrough. I just remember my favorite scripture Romans 8:28 and God works ALL things together for good. Not just the good things but the hard things too.

Ok but show me anywhere in scripture where Jesus actually said that. And show me anywhere in scripture where it WASNT Jesus will to heal someone. There isn’t one time in scripture where Jesus turned down healing someone. Not one. God bless you sister I mean no judgement but just commenting off what you heard in the chosen. Be careful to weigh that with what is said and shown to us in scripture. Everyone who sought Jesus for healing left whole & healed. But I 100% agree with you that we need to praise Him always wherever we see the healing or not. Because whether or not we’re healed in this life doesn’t change the goodness of God and it doesn’t change how worthy He is to be praised. But I just encourage you to seek the scriptures more on Gods will to heal. You will come to find that Jesus will was and always is to heal

I identify as a Christ follower. The church I go to is Biblically sounded and all I am concerned about is the word of God. As long as what is happening is supported by the Word of God I'm for it. If it deviates then I'm not on board with it.

That was compulsive viewing - Thank you so much. I don't know why but I started listening to videos calling our Bethel. At first I thought it was harsh butvthe more I listened the more I realised what theywere going called out about. I listened to Bill and Kris a lot and didn't look too deeply into it. When KC showed up that was the final straw. I began to realise how far I had gone from the basics of the faith. I love this channel , Remnant Radio , Mike Winger and Justin Peiters . I have gone back to reading and meditating on scripture which is the real powerhouse. I will seriously think about supporting ministry. Keep em coming

8:00 first hand account. My father was praying for a woman to be healed. AN old gentleman was behind her and praying for her. My father, a minister of the gospel in its entirety, felt what he described as a shock go through him, that “feeling” went through the women and “electrified” the old man and instantly healed his back issues. I understand you haven’t seen it, but don’t discount it because you haven’t. If that were the case I’d have to not believe a lot of things don’t exist or can’t happen because I haven’t seen it first hand. -just my opinion

My first church that I got saved at borrowed and adhered to the teachings of Bethel. There were services where we were “falling out” by the “spirit”, but I remember faking so many of my reactions in order to fit in with the church as well as, in my head, honor Christ. We would have some “holy laughter” at times (not very prevalent though). It was a church that taught we were sinners in need of a Savior and that person is Jesus Christ, and evangelism was important, yet we had these fringe beliefs and views that would distract us from the Gospel and care more about “breakthrough” and spiritual giftings. Most of my growth came from studying the Bible by myself or with help of apologists such as Mike Winger and Allen Parr. Both of those men came out of fellowships that were similar to mine and they would describe the same activities that my church would do. Some of the members disliked me because I was not egalitarian and became insistent on interpretation when speaking in tongues. I would even show them the Scriptures, but would excuses after a while, saying “well that’s just cultural” or “that’s not part of the Spirit’s actions that we see here”. After a while, the Spirit was guiding me to a church that wanted to submit to the teachings of Christ and the apostles. Once I did find one, it was unfortunately Calvinistic and didn’t have an immense motivation to evangelize to the world. All this to say: I’ve been part of churches from both ends of the aisle. I know the dangers of ultra-charismatic churches that are willy-nilly with God’s doctrines, yet I also see danger in these hyper-critical reformed churches that preach a gospel that God unilaterally and effectually chooses people for salvation, while others he just passes over them, their deaths being the means in which he receives glory. Both churches have doctrines that dishonor God and we need to be honest about that.

Personally I have been slain in the Spirit at 2 occasions and every after such an encounter my hunger for God increased. Something shifted in me. This doesn’t mean you have to be slain in the spirit for your hunger for God to shift. It’s all by God’s grace. He draws us to Himself. After my recent encounter, I started walking in the gift of word of knowledge. I don’t assume to know much but I recommend we all seek God in person and ask for the spirit of discernment.

But nobody cares about that because it felt good and we can cover it over with saying joy in the spirit. It is completely odd just to be sitting in church and laughing for no apparent reason at all let alone barking like a dog sorry.

The joy of the lord is biblical, people barking like dogs is called being in the flesh. That’s why Paul laid out how the gifts are to be used IN ORDER in 1 Corinthians. I have seen people laughing uncontrollably in the spirit as I haven’t experienced it I know people that have that are true & genuine about their experience. Don’t write something off because you don’t understand it. It’s also important to note that people can be in acting out in the flesh in the same room as someone that’s being moved by the spirit

So I think it’s not wrong ti have faith that God will and can do these things through everyone but stay backed up by the word and don’t get weird with it. Not our call to make because we are not the creator of us.

I wasn't there so you only know *you're* story, but if you have any questions about what God can do and has done, just look to His Word and study it over and over and read it all the way through (so many Christians have never read the Bible consistently and read the entire thing) and keep doing that every time you finish it. That is the only way you can know God and who He is and when He speaks and moves or not. Do not give up.

A little history: the Brownsville Revival included manifestations like shaking, laughing, and when people were baptized (in water) they came up passed out. There were fire tunnels. That move had some weird things happening and we were told to get out of our comfort zone and be prepared for God to do unusual things. It was strange and uncomfortable to me, but I was led to feel guilty that I felt that way. I was already walking closely with God at that point in my life so I dismissed it as something that other people maybe needed but now looking back I wish I was more confident to speak up.

Acts 8:30‭-‬31 NKJV Is it not the Holy Spirit that helps us understand Scripture? Many have read the holy texts and not heard the voice of God. John 14:26 Jesus is addressing His followers……not unbelievers. In ACTS 8 The Ethiopian Eunuch was reading Isaiah…..He could not understand because He didn’t have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit……Phillip sat with Him….Phillip was likely to have been one of those followers that Jesus was addressing in John 14:26. @@ryanadams5719 I believe you are missing my point. Many heard Jesus speak and NEVER heard the voice of God. They only heard Jesus, the carpenter's son from Nazareth... Mary's boy... can anything good come from Nazareth? For if indeed they heard the voice of God, they would have repented. For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. Job 33:14 NKJV See God certainly speaks through the Bible.. why else would we have it? Is He limited to just 770,430 words though or does He have more to say? Does not Revelation tell us that there are scrolls that have not yet been revealed to us and that one day He will open the scrolls? Do we not expect a personal relationship with our Father? Does a good father never talk to his children? If you asked Him to speak to you, would He deny you? See Matthew 7:11. Would He just say, "Go read that book I gave you," and then never utter another word? I thought the new covenant far exceeded the old one. Why would they be able to talk to Him, meet with Him, inquire of Him and do miracles (before Pentecost and before Jesus) while we would be denied those things? If that were so, I want the old covenant back. But scripture tells that we have moved from glory to even greater glory. Why does this put some of y'all on the offensive? I just don't understand. In my charismatic circles, we love Scripture. I grew up with seminary students, professors and lecturers and learning was rich but the Charismatics that took me in after God spoke to me clearly and told me He had more for me, they would pour over the Scriptures, reciting it, praying through it begging God to do it again for hours upon hours... spending their lives on Christ. They lived the Scriptures (and still do). They taught the Scriptures. They meditated on them day and night. Their pages were tear soaked, worn, highlighted and underlined with notes upon notes popping out of every edge. And nearly everytime they read out some familiar or obscure passage, the words would land hard in our hearts. I loved my seminary church but man... my Charismatic church... they loved God and every word He ever uttered. He still has more to say.

The whole problem is the abuse all this so call pastors have done with the Holy Spirit. Slaid by the Holy Spirit or joy in the Spirit is real; however, some camps have taken it as the sole proof that the Holy Spirit is present, which is not biblical. This is when the Kundalini spirit takes over those congregations. So Ruslan, it may sound wacky, but it is real; nevertheless, it should not be the goal of our pursuit; our pursuit has to be and always be Jesus Christ. On another note, in my personal opinion, I would not call the Calvary movement charismatic; they would be more like modern Baptists with great verse-by-verse Bible studies. Cancel Button: Press HERE
