Il saluto romano, veniva usato prima di tutto dagli antichi romani. Poi è stato preso dai fascisti. Stessa cosa per la Swastika, in origine non aveva un significato malvagio.

@@limonman1716 In realtà è stato appurato che il saluto Romano non veniva assolutamente utilizzato dagli antichi romani. La sola ed unica "testimonianza" è semplicemente una collona, di cui non ricordo il nome, in cui si vede un uomo che fa un saluto simile (fra l'altro sembra più un saluto normalissimo), D'Annunzio lo ha visto e ci ha fatto un film. Ecco l'origine del saluto Romano.

@@donchiccoking Il saluto Fascista e Nazista è esattamente il saluto romano, che nella Roma antica non è mai esistito o almeno non c'é nessuna evidenza di questo. Difatti è meglio chiamarlo saluto fascista perché questo è quel che è. Da quel che ricordo nella colonna traiana c'é un solo pezzo che può ricordarlo ma è un romano che in mezzo ad una folla che celebra un trionfo, alza il braccio in segno di saluto (come per dire: "Aò cce stà Auggusto" XD).

My grandpa was 3 years old when US army landed in Sicily. He told me that one day he was wandering in tall grass (he didnt look for pokemon, he grow up in a very small town in Sicily) and suddenly he saw a tank which stopped in front of him. The soldiers in the tank pick him for a ride and he had so much fun and everytime he told this story his eyes was shining.The scene with the tank always reminds me this story, this is why I cry everytime I watch La vita è Bella, this and because is a fucking great and emotional movie. Un capolavoro, come hai detto tu. Certo, ci sono delle inesattezze storiche, ma chi cazzo se ne frega, aggiungo. Grazie per questo video

My grandpa Made the exact same thing on north italy with the germans. Mio nonno aveva una casa in campagna e i tedeschi si accamparono nel giardino di quest’ultima. C’era anche un carro armato e un giorno i soldati tedeschi lo portarono a fare un giro. All’altro mio nonno invece sempre i tedeschi regalavano sempre cioccolato e sigarette perché essendo biondo e con gli occhi azzurri ai loro occhi sembrava un bellissimo bambino tedesco. Ovviamente sono storie divertenti da sapere non voglio far sembrare che i tedeschi fossero i buoni della situazione o che.

@@marcorobertorossetti2284 Anche la famiglia di mia nonna riceveva spesso regali da alcuni soldati tedeschi perché suo padre era barbiere e una parte del conto la pagavano in miele e cioccolato per i figli. Bisogna anche tenere conto che in quegli anni non è che si avesse tanta scelta, se abitavi in Germania/Italia e avevi una famiglia da mantenere e proteggere, non era così scontato potersi prendere il rischio ed il lusso di battersi per le proprie idee. E' facile dirlo oggi, ma se all'epoca ci fossimo stati noi, quanti avrebbero avuto davvero la forza di fare la Resistenza in modo esplicito? Richiede qualità che non tutti hanno, ma non per questo chi scelse la via del 'tacito assenso' era necessariamente una cattiva persona. C'è una bella differenza tra sopportare e fingere per proteggere sé e la propria famiglia ed essere attivamente complici ed assetati di sangue.

@@marcorobertorossetti2284 io intendevo che non voglio far passare i tedeschi per i buoni della situazione, non che fossero tutti malvagi. Anche bailey per fortuna ha specificato che pure gli americani erano ben lontani da essere “quelli buoni” nel video. In guerra nessuno è mai buono, pensa che sempre mio nonno raccontava che gli inglesi/americani di contro con i loro aerei buttavano giù dei giocattoli per attirare i bambini..quando i bambini li raccoglievano questi giocattoli poi si rivelavano delle bombe ed esplodevano, di fatto una violenza inutile con l’unico scopo di far esasperare la popolazione uccidendo i bambini. Comunque si, non tutti i tedeschi necessariamente erano nazisti, molti di loro erano normali soldati che con onore combattevano per il loro paese e nonostante tutto credo di rispettarli(come non tutti i sovietici erano comunisti ecc). Detto questo sempre dai miei nonni vengono anche altri racconti meno lusinghieri nei confronti di alcuni comportamenti dei tedeschi, ma come ho detto in guerra non esiste nessun buono.

In Italy usually they let us see this movie in schools since kids to commemorate and not forget the atrocity that happened back then because of fascism and nazism and everytime, no matter how old you are, you cry. I'm at a point that just the soundtrack makes me burst into tears.

I'm a German male. Watched it with every gf I ever had because this movie is so powerful. And each and every time there's those freaking ninjas, cutting onions. I know what's coming, I still cry like a freaking baby. And I don't cry a lot. You know, bearded man and stuff.

Fun fact: the child is the same actor who played Russell Crowe's son in "The Gladiator" 💜

Just a little historical explanation for non italians: that way to salute at the start was first used by the Fascist regime in Italy and only later it was copied by Hitler, in that scene the people roadside thinks that the character interpreted by benigni is a rapresentative of the government as he is standing in the car and saluting like in a parade

Most of this movie was actually recorded in my hometown, and every single kid growing up there has watched it SO MANY TIMES. My city is quite small so whenever you’re walking around you can basically see places where some scenes were set, and they have small posters showing Benigni’s work. All things considered, I should be able to watch a video of Bailey reacting to this movie without crying. Turns out I’m not, my eyes are already teary🥲

Can't believe there are people that are complaining about an historical mistake about "the american army". This is not an historical movie nor a realisitic one. These people totally missed the point. Anyway, Hollywood is full of artists and poets, they didn't missed the point, even if it is in a different language.

Everytime there is the ending theme while the boy says "we won" I always start crying :(

The plot,the actors,the fun behind the tragedy,the soundtrack...this movie is just perfect. As you said there's a huge dissonance between first and second act,and that's what hit you in the feelings. Epic movie and epic celebration by Benigni when he got the Oscar 🤩

Yes, I was just thinking that! Bailey, if you loved Roberto's energy (the main character's actor) you should know he's actually like this in real life and you can definitely get a glimpse of it at the Award ceremony! Hi Bailey, you have watched simply the best italian movie ever produced. in "La vita è bella" there's every human feeling you can ever feel in you entire life. Never in my life I was able to cry and laugh so much at the same time. Finally the title of the movie is so powerful in its simplicity. I'm happy you had the chance to watch it. It's one of those movies that make you a different and better person, once you finished to watch. And I'm very glad you also liked it! ;)

I swear to God I've never E V E R cried so much watching a KZread video 😭 "La vita è bella" is one of my favourite movie, so sad yet so beautiful... and the soundtrack is pure gold, I cry like a baby every time I listen to "Buongiorno principessa!"... so glad you liked it too. (PS: your Italian's improved a lot!!!)

I’m italian and I watched that film at school when I was like 9 years old, I WAS CRYING SO MUCH

The protagonist is also the film director. It's Roberto Benigni, from Tuscany, he and the actress have been married for many years. The story it's about a father who sacrifices himself to save his son from the Nazis. It's my favorite movie.

E niente, ti volevo solo informare che guardandolo ho pianto, perché ogni volta che guardo questo film (o parti di esso) mi emoziono come quando lo vidi la prima volta. I cried so much the first time I saw this film , they made us watch it in the 5° year of elementary school , and rewatching this video with some of the scene was enough to make me cry again

I feel like here in Italy this movies is a bit trashed nowadays and I honestly don’t know why, it’s truly an amazing and really emotional movie, this and Johnny Stecchino are Benigni’s finest to me

@@kat-gd6ry No ha ragione, alla gente Benigni non piace granché per vari motivi legati alla sua idea politica e alcune sue scelte di carriera, poi la recitazione scarsa- con tutto il garbo possibile- della moglie e alcune inesattezze storiche che fanno pensare ad alcuni che Benigni faccia nepotismo e veneri gli Americani quando non sono stati gli unici a liberare l'Italia e di certo non per pura bontà. Sono polemiche un po' sterili, soprattutto quest'ultima visto che Benigni ha fatto anche La tigre e la neve, che non molti ricordano, ma è molto simile a La vita è bella solo che essendo ambientata a Baghdad stavolta gli americani sono cattivi.

yes the film is set in Tuscany. Tuscany is generally considered as the original region of the Italian Language. And they do speak 99,9% "standard Italian" but with a peculiar accent. the C is sometimes aspirated "la hasa" instead of Casa. they use the TH like in English. "parlatho" the G is soft like in French. that's about it. ;) all other regions in Italy use dialects, including Rome. Only though in Rome, the phonetics are 100% standard Italian. Hence the old saying: "Tuscan tongue in Roman mouth."

I love this movie. I think it's the only movie that makes me cry every single time I watch it. This time I've cried with you (even during scenes I've never cried for before). The scene that makes me cry my heart out is the end, when the child says "abbiamo vinto, mille punti da schiantare dal ridere, abbiamo vintoo"😭😭

E' la seconda volta nell'arco di mesi che mi rivedo questo video e mi emoziono, negli stessi momenti assieme alla ragazza. Mi rende orgoglioso sapere e vedere che questo film è cosi apprezzato.
