I am from Kenya in East Africa. English and Swahili are the official languages. We also speak our own tribal language. And then depending on where you live, get married, or go to school( most high schools are boarding) then you can acquire other languages. If you are Muslim you also learn Arabic. However most everyone in Kenya can speak at least 3 languages: English, swahili and your own tribal language. I speak 5 languages.

Fact, we're all multilingual and way more smarter than these palm coloured mono linguistic people. I speak French, English and Shikomori which my native language. I'm also a beginner in Spanish and Arabic. I'm from The Comoros Islands, African islands located in East Africa next to Madagascar. Many people have no idea we even exist. Our Native language Shikomori is inspired heavily from Swahili because our main ancestors came from the eastern region/swahili part (Kenya, Tanzania etc..) and settled to these islands more than 2000 years ago so we do kind of understand swahili in a way. Also I actually live in Malaysia rn, I study here but I can't speak Bahasa Malaysia at all 🥲😂, just "Terima Kasi" 😂, that's all I know. I have a Nigerian best friend who has always been there for me no matter what, an amazing person, now he's back to Nigeria and I really miss him. Much love to y'all Nigerians, y'all are amazing people. ❤

In Kenya many people speak at least 3 languages: - A person's 'Mother Tongue' i.e. the language you speak at home with your parents which is often you 'tribal' language e.g. Bantu languages, Nilotic languages, Cushitic languages, etc.. - Kiswahili in most day-to-day interactions with the average Kenyan. We also love Kiswahili or traditional sayings that are better said in Kiswahili or a person's Mother Tongue. - English which is used mostly in the service industry but also used amongst Kenyans but certainly it is the language of official\corporate business or commerce, and our national newspapers as well as Government of Kenya affairs being conducted in English (but public proclamations are made in both Kiswahili and English).

I am South African and I’ve went to English schools that teach Afrikaans as an additional language, some schools in my a town teach two to three or even four languages being Setswana and even isiXhosa, I can speak English, Setswana, Afrikaans and a bit of Zulu and Xhosa and I’m learning Tsonga and Portuguese because I love learning new languages, and my Brother used to do Portuguese in his High School years so I found it interesting, while one of my friends is also moving to Angola, it really helps with his progress I think it’s really easy to learn other Bantu language as a Bantu language speaker, because they are very similar, which makes it easy and fun with learning languages and what similar terms mean to different tribes. Africans are really intellectual people and we never acknowledge that fact ❤

Great content you have here. I will recommend Tayo Aina, WodeMaya, and African Tigress for fantastic KZread contents to have a glimpse on the diversity of the African people. Everyone born in any country on the African continent would most probably speak more than one language. For instance, a typical Rwandan would most likely speak French, English, Ksawihili very fluently. Nigeria is like the Tower of Babel where God scattered the human language 😀. Diverse, the country with the 5th/6th largest population in the world, and probably the most diverse country on Earth. With over 250+ major tribes and over 500+ different languages. This trend is similar for most African countries. For instance, the diversity in Nigeria have wired them to be able to adapt and blend with anyone around the World.

This was fascinating thank you very much!! It’s no fault of your own but I think we all have ideas on climates based on the media. For example many people think Australia is just a hot desert. Little do they know we get more snow than the Swiss Alps and that we have tropical rainforests. The equator runs smack through the centre of Africa so those countries close to it are going to be hot, while those countries in the far north or far south are going to have colder climates and snow. In the Southern hemisphere it gets colder as you go south. In the Northern hemisphere it gets colder as you go north. Of course altitude can alter this. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, it has snow and it’s in Tanzania, very close to the equator!! Hope this is helpful in some way! ❤️ ❤️

So I'm a geography geek from Namibia so I think I can answer your question about the weather in Africa, Firstly the Maghreb would be somewhat humid and rain would fall in the winter, the Sahara hot and dry, you'd need to drink a lot of water there, West Africa and Central Africa hot and humid, almost like "the southern bayou states in the US, East African rift would be warm to cooler and humid and finally what I call the Great Zimbabwe plateau which encompasses South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini, the weather here is most diverse and will be warm and humid the closer you get to the equator and much wetter, then you have the Kalahari and Namib basins where it is dry and warm most of the year but cool during the winter(i.e Namibia), then you have the Cape which has weather similar to California, Western and Eastern Cape is similar to Northern California, Northern cape is similar to Colorado as it has a cool and dry steppe climate, and finally what we call the High veld which takes up most of Eastern South Africa and Zimbabwe which are cool to warm and humid. Btw, if Africa were united, the Zimbabwe plateau would be where we'd farm most of our Wheat, Barley(Windhoek draught, my fav) and beef as well as goats and sheep for meat and milk for our cheeses, yogurts and butter as well as Omaere( thick sour milk, trust me, every African both home and abroad will love it), Central Africa would be perfect for Sorghum, Coffee, Cocoa and Sugar as well as Cotton, West Africa would also have Cocoa, as well as Cotton, Corn and Sugar and in East Africa we'd farm our all of our Tea, most of our Coffee(Ethiopia,Kenya,Burundi and Rwanda), some Wheat, Vanilla(Madagascar) and Corn... A United Africa or at least Sub Saharan Africa would be a badass country, we'd be more powerful than even the US no doubt...

And "Tribe" is not as badas they make it look in the west. Its like a person's Ethnic backgroun. We are all Black, but everyone has a specific Community / Tribe from which they come. It has been how we Identify ourselves for hundreds of years. A tribe could be anywhere between 50,000people upto over 2million people. Some African countries have Tribes that have over 10 million people. Lots of Love from Kenya, East Africa.

In Uganda, English is the official language. Most Bantu speakers who happen to live in Western, Central and Eastern Uganda speak atleast 2 additional languages. An ethnic language and luganda. When you go to the North East, most people are able to communicate in Ateso, Nga'karimojong and Swahili. In West Nile, most people can ably speak Lugbar, Arabic, English and other languages from the area and Sudan. Up north, natives speak Langi and Acholi & other native languages as well.

I'm South African so most of us speak minimum 3 languages. 1. Your native language like to me is Afrikaans a bastardised version of Dutch(I'm coloured for more context), 2. English because it's the colonisers language and they didn't want us to communicate in our native languages as they had to understand part of oppression. 3. A regional language like I can speak Zulu as I'm from Johannesburg and I can understand and hear several other languages but respond in English. When we were younger we were taught in order to master a language you need to speak and practice it until you can think in said language.

I don't speak any of the other 3 languages that make up my genetic ancestry because our parents only spoke to us in French as we were living abroad 90% of the time. I grew up in Gabon and it's basically Louisiana. It's very humid but not hot, and it rains 8 months out of 12. Sometimes it can rain for a week straight. And the best Chadian vlogger imo is Miss Sahel. She's part of minority group called the Chadian Arabs who are descended from Arab raiders and slave traders in the 19th century.

The average African speaks 3 languages by the time they are able to communicate properly as kids. The native/tribal language, the lingua franca and the colonisers language. So for example a Kenyan will speak English (colonizer) Kiswahili (lingua franca) and Kikamba (tribal) A Nigerian may speak English (colonizer ) pidgin (lingua franca) and Igbo (tribal ) 3 is the minimum but we speak more especially if you were raised in an area that is different from your tribe then you end up adopting that tribes language as well. So in Kenya you can have a Somali speaker who was raised in central Kenya and is fluent in both kisomali and kikuyu which is the native language of central Kenya for example

As far as seasons are concerned in Sub-Saharan Africa, there are no seasons as you are used. Just rainy seasons. The rainforests receive rain daily so it's very humid due to the year round sun. East Africa probably enjoys a bit more variation in seasonal weather due to most African mountains being located here in the Rift Valley specifically.

The average African speak two languages. French or English and his mother tongue. I’m from Cameroon and there are over 232 languages…only in Cameroon. If you want to learn you can. The problem is we don’t teach mother’s tongue at school but at home. And I hate to say that but generation to generation some languages dies…and it’s a shame. Cameroon is in central Africa and when it the wet season, it can rain for hours, sometimes for days. I know a region where it’s foggy 80% of the time in that season. But it also a greenery paradise and fruits tress grows even when you dont want them to. You can pick guava, mangoes or papaya on the streets. It’s not hurricane with rain like some places in America, it can be windy but never😂 that overwhelming . But it’s messes up your plans for the day real good. Now I’m in Senegal (west Africa) were it doesn’t rain that much and i miss my rain and my greeneries😢
