I have been ARMY since the boys debuted and I love seeing new people discover them, not just for how they look (because damn they look good!), but for who they are and what they stand for. I am in my 50’s, a mum to a 30 year old daughter (also ARMY) and we have been lucky enough to see them in concert, have been to Korea twice for 6 months and have even undertaken to learn Korean - all because of these 7 amazing young men. I would suggest reacting to Who is BTS - the 7 members of Bangtan. It is a little older but it gives you a lot of insight into each member. Always remember that just as BTS is a family, ARMY is a family too. We will gladly help you learn more and answer your questions. Also the finger thing is called a finger heart - very common in Kpop. The video is not even an over exaggeration of explaining BTS... It really brings them only half the justice in explaining the band. There are 7 of them and literally they fit like a puzzle. Each member brings an array of unique talents individually, but together they just fit like lock and key. They each have kind, and caring personalities and they are so sincere and hardworking. This can be shown in how loyal, huge, and powerful the army (the fanbase) is.

Trust me you never gonna find artist that love their fans like bts and you never gonna tired of bts

Simple: being in this fandom, we feel it is a two-way relationship.

And when she says they've received backlash from people in power for using their voice and speaking up, she means it. Countless times BTS have been threatened by the (previous) Korean government for outwardly talking about the government in their music. This has led to them being shadow-banned and nearly blacklisted in their industry a couple times. But now that the korean people got their former president impeached, the new President absolutely loves BTS. And since BTS has grown exponentially in popularity (outselling literally everyone--past or present-- in korea) they basically own the entire korean music industry and no one would even dare try to silence them now 😂😂

I became a fan of bts in 2014 and saw them grow, they went through a lot but despite the accusation army stood by them and defended them because you could see the passion they had and also the genuine connection they had with army. when all the hate came towards them they didn't hate back, but rather they proved themself with their music ,with their work. I know many people hate on army , telling us why we defend them so much when they dont even know us. but personally I feel in debt with them because they have helped me with so much, I have grown to love myself and know myself as a person, not only has their music healed people but their video have made people days . their comfort and love towards army is a true friendship, and it sad that many people think that army like bts just for their face , because honestly that is just a bonus . we defend them because no one else will , and we defend them because they have worked so hard and yet they are so humble toward everyone. :)

8:05 it's because they're not that famous in S.Korea at that time compared to kpop idols from bigger companies, there are other bands with bigger fandom than them in SK so the SK fans were surprised that BTS had so many album sales (yeah, that's how much of an underdog they are in their own country). Then it came to light that one of the reasons in big album sales is that BTS has many fans from across the globe and SK fans were blindsided by it 😂. That's the power of their talents and great personalities. Essentially they became famous outside SK before they blew up in SK. They have fans in SK too of course but not in a scale that other kpop idols have. The fans of the 'reigning idol groups' at that time had a hard time accepting BTS skyrocketing to fame worldwide (BTS and these idol groups are friends though, lol).

Yes bts sometimes fight, and that's because of their food (dumplings fight) and the choreoraphy of their dance.But they fix it quickly without resentment. 🥺💖

Since their concerts and tour in the States was cancelled due to Covid, they donated 1million dollars to all the crew( LIVE CREW nation) that was affected by it. They really are great people that even after all the riches and popularity they remained to be grounded and humble. Regarding their BLM donation. When BTS was just starting out, they came to LA and participated in a show called American Hustle Life. The idea of the show was that BTS came to LA to learn about HIP HOP Culture. They were tutored by some OG's in the HIP HOP World. One of their Tutor's was Coolio and he was not easy on them. He drilled the history of Hip Hop into them. By the end, they understood how important it is to place much respect on the roots & struggles of the forefathers of Hip Hop. They have written a rap song called HIP HOP LOVER which shouts out their respect for the artists who have laid the foundation, so they can practice their love of the art. These are 7 young men who bow when they encounter anyone older than they are. Giving Respect is important in the Korean Culture. It's also refreshing. FYI: BTS announced today that their new album will arrive on Nov 20th, their new album BE the title track will be called: Life Goes On. Also, ARMY has no problem watching videos that are long. @@someonecool110 we just have to stay cool. BTS is the Biggest Group & ARMY is one of the biggest fan groups. They hate us, cuz they ain't us. This isn't any different as it was back in 2014. We have always had to take the arrows from other companies & fan groups. We just have to keep doing our thing and supporting our boys. If they spend all their time on us then their group will fall. They should just work on their group and leave us alone.

BTS was more famous in other countries than in their own country. Ironically the kpop establishment was unaccepting of BTS when they started out until BTS became famous. Some BTS members were labeled 'ugly' because they didn't fit 'Korean beauty standards'. BTS came from an independent 'no name' company with almost no money and were looked down upon and called 'dirty spoons'. BTS' philosophy was different and kpop companies mistreated them like dirt even on air because they thought BTS was a nobody who would go away in two years. It is not like American artist who think their fans owe them something and don't appreciate their fans. That goes for all Korean artist they all perform for their fans, that is their culture.

I don’t know if you missed it but When bts donated to the black live matters movement army matched them and donated 1 million dollars in one day ! I love being an army💜
