Yeah she's a beauty. What a cool find. And of course really well spotted and styled. 🙂 Must be nice to be able to find that sort of stock around where he lives.

Completely missed an opportunity to showcase non-classical American styles and American species, and focused more on the superstars and copy-cat traditional stylings. Hagerdorn had the best section of truly American bonsai in this showcase, so I can really appreciate that. The NC Arboretum was completely skipped, with their large collection of American trees and non-traditional styles which reflect the climate, growth habits, and culture of the eastern US. When you see native trees that surround you used in this art form, it becomes more relatable & accessible and not viewed as something exotic & beyond approach, aka, exclusive to a select few. Guess we’ll just have to see more Japanese black pines, Japanese maples, and Shimpaku junipers. Cmon, Oscar. Expand beyond the conventional blasé. We’ve got bonsai rebels thinking past tradition, much like Walter Pall in Germany or Harry Harrington in England. Hagerdorn is just an iceberg tip. Try Arthur Joura or Dan Robinson. There are others.

Thanks Ben for your reply! This video is by no means complete - we just didnt visit many places yet. The NC is a place we want to visit for sure. Any others you think we should add to our to-visit list?

You just added Bjorns garden to recirculated footage. Woulda liked to have seen his. Why not revisit Mirai, Dan Robinson, Mach5, Chase Rosade, Andrew Robson, Todd Schlaefer. Natures Way. You gotta make a new one not just rehash man… cmon
