I wish that album would drop in Spotify. I had the cassette tape, but who owns those anymore? Last I checked, KZread is the only place I could find a digital version of the album.

One of my favorite songs from the Disco Era is "Livin' It Up (Friday Night)" by Bell & James!

Facts. These guys did have looks. Leroy Bell still looks good as a mature older man. His legendary uncle Thom Bell also had good looks back in his younger days. It must definitely run in the family!

A promotional video of the song "Livin 'It Up (Friday Night)" was made, I saw back then. Until today it did not appear on youtube.

Clark’s interview is really interesting but not especially kind to them. Emphasizing the guys uncle as an industry fatcat clearly robbing a spotlight from the artists onstage.

We Didn't Care Back Then. If They Were Good,.. We Listened. A lot of People (including Me) Thought that R&B Singer Teena Marie Was Black.. But turns out She's Mixed. In Fact,.. Her Debut '79 Album Was White With Birds Flying in the Background. So Her Producers (Motown, Berry Gordy Them) Had Already Known She Was a Treasure to Be Heard. We Were just Imaginative Until We Saw The Real Thing lol.

I don’t know if you’ll see this, but Casey lives with his wife and son in West Seattle. Still writing, playing and singing. Not only did he write hits, he is an exceptional composer of “legit” music, such as string quartets, flute pieces, et cetera. He also wrote about sixty (!!!) excellent jazz tunes for a group he called “Jimmy the Scuffer”; I was fortunate enough to be the saxophonist and flutist with that group, along with Mark Ivester (drums), Clipper Anderson & Jeff Johnson (bass), and Jay Thomas on trumpet and fluegelhorn. An excellent musician, as is LeRoy, who lives in Edmonds. LeRoy came in sixth on the X Factor several years ago, and has a great group called “LeRoy Bell & His Only Friends”. He’s a great writer and singer as well.
