Thanks for stopping by another Captain Cooper episode! On this extremely short flight, I finally arrive into Key West after spending the night at Miami International due to weather delays from my previous flight from Dallas. So why go to Key West right when school starts? Well I'm actually taking this semester off and will start college next semester. Also my mom now lives in Key West! She works over at Signature Flight so if any of y'all take your planes down to EWY, give a quick hello to her! She works at the front desk. This was a really interesting flight to be on. Not only from how short it was but that the flight itself was like a commute for most passengers on this flight. Most of the passengers on this flight didn't even have any carry-on's at all and not many bags were loaded onto the plane either! Since it was such a short flight, there was no drink service in the main cabin but first class did receive refreshments. You just sat down and then we were off. As soon as we were in the air, it was time to land. Easy money for any pilots out there haha. We were only at 10,000 feet for the majority of the flight at a speed of 370 knots. It was weird being so low in an airliner. What was really great to see was the water! It had the most beautiful shades of blue and green. It really made the flight worth going on.

I heard pilots are actually pretty fond of the 175 and 190, I haven't flown either those (though United uses them quite a bit on my normal route), but I'd like to, I hear they are very quiet in the cabin. I'd also like to fly on one of the new CS100s, I hear they are pretty nice too. The only regional jets I tend to be on are CRJ700s and very rarely crj200.

Back sometime in the last century, Provincetown-Boston Airlines (PBA) used to operate Cessna twin engine aircraft from EYW to MIA. Once, the pilot came to me and asked, "Sir, would you mind to help us out by sitting in the front right seat?" He had no idea that I could probably sit in the left seat and get us to MIA, but I answered, "Yes," faster than I've ever answered any Yes/No question before or since. He then said, "Just keep your feet off the 'pedals.' " I was delighted by the chance. There were scattered thunderstorm cells which he did a good job of avoiding. That was in the last century and now I find myself needing to know how to fly a 757, only in a technical sense. (I've never flown a true jet.) Is there any place anyone knows of that shows the landing and take off from the cockpit with the rotation, V1, V2, . . . stated out loud?

What is a normal taxi speed for this aircraft, say, at a busy airport? Keep up, or get run over? This is an obviously busy flight with short duration for the cockpit crew.....so I must make some assumptions that "You're next in line for takeoff?".......Any distance restrictions for taxi at high temp, high density altitude airports?

I think AMerican Airlines shouldve invested in newer ATR 600 series aircraft for routes such as this..

what's the story of the Cubana Antonov An-24 seen at 27:06 ? Hijacked and flown to Key West or unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time when ties with Cuba broke preventing it from getting back home?

omfgitsshan Well the story is it was hijacked and intercepted by USAF fighter jets and brought down safely into the airport. This happened back in 2003 I believe. Needless to say, the USA and Cuban relationship wasn't to great at the time so they never got the plane back.

Frank Grippi What time did you see it in the video? There's an Antonov plane on the airfield but I didn't see a DC-3 there.
