America's Most Important Strike
Hope y'all enjoy this exclusive marketing Monday on a Sunday!

Big A you have to post this on the main channel. This is genuinely one of your best videos, more people gotta see it, who cares if it is a couple months out of date every vid you make is out of date after a month, but the story of the UAW is timeless.

FACTS
Man, this was a great MM when it came out, shame it didnt hit the main in time, positive strike new is great
DUDE NO WAY. I’m from around flint michigan and my family was a huge part of the strike around the world. A lot of the strike was planned in my great great grandpa’s garage and my great grandpa was a cartoonist for the UAW. In fact when they got gassed my great great grandpa yelled for the woman’s brigade who were ouside of the GM plant to break the windows. idk it’s so cool to see something that my ancestors where huge part of be talked abt someone i’ve watched for so long

One of my great friends died at a UAW plant in Illinois due to terrible conditions. He fell into an install pit and had a seizure. It took 26 minutes for anyone to show up to give medical treatment but at that point he had passed away. UAW cut funding to safety in most plants to increase profits for CEOs. Glad to see that UAW has a president that fights for union members and not the companies.

this is absolutely a main channel worthy video
Amazing video, I enjoyed it throughly. I really enjoyed the historical comparison and also the part of holding a date in the future. I just wonder about if there would be any implications for worker movements in the world which would be in the spirit of international workers day.
For the sake of completeness, Atrioc misspoke. 13 people were shot by the police during the 1936 strike, but none of them died. Describing it as "nonviolent" is also pushing the limits of the truth - the strikers were plenty violent, they just didn't start it. When the cops attacked the factory, the workers fought them out with bricks and pipes.
We need this positivity out in the world. Amazing storytelling, heartwarming message, and hope, real hope, for a better future. Post this on main. It's worth it, just as long as the intro is changed to be you explaining some of the weird inconsistencies instead of the star wars intro
So happy this was eventually uploaded. Thanks team :D

shooting blindly into a peaceful sit in is fucking insane, I can’t believe the strike continued even after 13 of them were killed

did you post this on the wrong channel?
Hearing that about FDR just makes me sad. We used to have presidents who actually stood for what's right. Screw Reagan
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS JUSTICE FOR THE WORKERS!
Chad. Capitalism working as it should. Negotiations for a *mutually beneficial* outcome are a fundamentally Capitalist thing, and previous government interference in such things is what led to such issues. Reagan, for all the good he did with a number of his policies, was a massive loser in terms of a number of things, labor and labor unions being one of them.
In hindsight these strikes have caused an enormous amount of job loses for the union. With the downturn in EVs the companies cant afford all these expensive workers.
I think channel needs to change its name, I listen to these more like a podcast of Big A more than clips
Let’s fucking goooo. Workers unite!
Wrong channel lil bro 🤭💀💀💀
This coverage is missing a pretty important part, a lot of workers under the union weren't actually happy with it. Especially in the plants in the Midwest they wanted to fight for more and very heavily unanimously voted no in most plants, they were even the ones you hear about in the story as doing the most for the strikes. However since union contracts are a thing that's all or nothing the plants around the country voting yes outweighed the plants in a few Midwestern states by like 3% resulting in the contract passing and them not being able to strike again until the contract is up. So keep in mind just because a guy on the screen says it's a big win, doesn't mean it actually is, a lot of them are unhappy because they could have gotten more and all that they did get were the bare minimum things that didn't immediately get rejected and what followed the contract was thousands of layoffs especially in those Midwestern plants that wanted better.

I kept seeing claims like this is comments and socialist news outlets, but I spent like 3 hours searching around in late November for details and barely anything came up. At least include a link or reference or something. It's getting aggravating seeing people say this with little to no evidence. This might be true but I have no reason to think it's true!
@stevsux4442
7 ай бұрын
@user-zj7vj6xj8o how does my comment contradict itself or what the video states? The points about people being very happy with the contract are literally the names of the people who run the union and make hundreds of thousands of dollars to make these deals and everything else is in line, just because it's historic doesn't mean it's good, it just means that a 20% raise now is more literal money than it was in the fucking 1940s
32 hour work week? That's ~5 hours less than a full work week in civilized countries like the ones in Scandinavia. The actual f*ck?
