Funny story, i was watching an episode of the love Boat and saw his name in the credits and was like wasn't that the guy from America's got talent? Turns out it was. Rip ray Jessel

I almost fell outta my chair the first time I heard this one. Love it to this day.

I watched this live the night it aired. I remember because I snarffed Coca-Cola through my nose so hard My eyes reared up for almost an hour afterward. My husband came into the room after hearing me scream and thought I was having a heart attack. When I couldn't stop crying and laughing, he just shook his head and got wet towels to clean up the mess!

I remember watching this audition when it aired on TV. I couldn't breathe, I was laughing so hard!

Well, thats was NOT what I was expecting at all. When you get that old, you really don't care what others think about you. He owned it.

I did read somewhere that this funny and talented man passed away. R.I.P. to a very funny man. Now he is able to make everyone in heaven laugh.

I just was shocked! I busted out laughing, and you laughing at the same time, resulting in my 23 soon to be 24 grandsons get out of bed to find out what was hilarious. I just backed it up a bit and when he heard it, he broke! Thanks for the laughter, never heard this or this man before. By the way, I am 72. and yes old people can have a sense of humor.

When i saw this i had to use the bathroom as i was laughing so hard and couldn't catch my breath as well. I loved it when nick was cracking up as well as who you could see from the Camera crew. I am surpised that the Camera crew didn't drop the camera during his song

Yeah, Ray Jessel actually wrote screams for some TV shows and he was a singer. He was a funny, elderly singer originally from Wales I’m saying was because he died. He died a year after he audition for America’s got talent at 85 of natural causes Riedesel died, and then his wife became a widow.

He actually died almost one year after his first AGT performance.

Please do more AGT. With that said... If you want to laugh Preacher Lawson is your guy. If your into ventriloquisim Darci Lynn is your girl and Preacher is just hilarious. Can't go wrong either of these. They both competed on regular AGT and AGT champions together.

Ray never appeared again because the trans folks all threw a hissy fit and had him removed from the show. His death a year later was purely coincidental.

The golden buzzer hadn't been created yet at the time of the audition

That season was the first season that they had the golden buzzer and the 3 that would have given him that already used their golden buzzer for that season. Howard Stern, Howie Mandel and Nick Carter had used their golden buzzer at that time.

It's difficult Billy to suggest the right talent to you. Everybody has different tastes. However if you like simply jaw dropping talent that is youthful, in tune and funny then the all performances package for Darci Lynne AGT at least won't bore you. I very rarely watch or listen to these kind of acts but I regularly go back to this one because it's inspiring in a weird way even to someone approaching 60. Be well and happy

There is a video that i can't recall what the name is but it has Ray and 2 other older men from this show that have wonderful skill.
