Definitely a very unique take that Otis is doing with the new GEN 3 elevators. The new chimes are really cool which sound very similar to the newer series 2, but I like the digital design that they updated to instead of using the blue arrow lantern that had the same look as series 1 and series 5. Overall awesome find! These are really unique and it's cool how the digital screens outside the elevators go into sleep mode feature when they are not in use, definitely a very useful energy-efficient feature.

I love how the floor indicator goes out when the doors close

IMO it kinda defeats the purpose of an exterior indicator, as when it's dim you can barely see it.

I recently discovered a set of these at a new residential building in Chicago. Unfortunately I couldn’t film them since the building isn’t complete yet. Anyways these are purely amazing & congrats on finding the first ones in the US.

That is awesome Jared! I was wondering when we were gonna see some of the first installs since a couple months ago I heard it was confirmed that the Gen3 was unleashing

I like the new lanterns for these newer Otis GEN 3 MRL elevators!

I looked at Otises' catalog and indeed these are Gen3! Congrats on the find Jared!

I just found Marylands first Otis Gen3 elevators at the Great Wolf Lodge in Parryville Md. If you are interested it is not far from the PA area.

Incredibly nice, and they run incredibly well. As with the lanterns, they are cool looking, since it looks like Otis is trying to copy the Kone digital lanterns. However, I still like the digital arrow lanterns with the LEDs in them, since they can be programmed to light up red, green, blue, or white.

still feels like im riding a gen2, but nice find.

Let's hope in 2 years these won't be in bad shape and are not exciting anymore and are everywhere…

Theres no evident proof, plus i hear a gen2 motor, and the lanterns are used on gen3, but these are a prototype and havent been fully released yet, plus id probably bet the first gen3 install will probably be in japan or something.

The Otis tech that Jared talked to did say something about these being prototypes, but in that link in the description, if you go to documents 3, 4, & 5, you'll see the same lanterns & exterior PIs seen on these elevators, labeled "used on Gen3 Peak and Edge machines," or something like that. Again, it's possible these are Gen2, just w/ Gen3 components, but I think Gen3 uses the same controller & probably motor as Gen2, making these essentially Gen3. I'm also not saying that the documents are proof that these are Gen3.

Some of the documents in the link in the description have the same lanterns & exterior PIs seen here, labeled "Gen3," but the Otis tech Jared talked to also mentioned that these are prototypes. So these might be Gen2 w/ Gen3 components, but I'm not 100% sure.

I herd at the Detroit zoo parking garage at the end of the season this elevator might be getting a double mod a gen3 mod in 2023. Because this elevator started of has a older series one installed 1985. But was sadly modded by MEI elevators in 2016. And now next year in 2023 this elevator might get modded by Otis gen3 next year. I will update you guys soon if the mod happens or not.

Also it seems they've changed the voice a bit for this new model

NO they’re sooo common. they are just installing the last gen2s next year. But for right now gen3s are EXTREMELY RARE! And at the Detroit zoo in royal oak Michigan they are dubble modding the MEI elevator in the parking garage witch started of has a older Otis series 1 installed in 1985 but was modded by MEI elevators in 2016 but is getting a Otis gen3 mod in 2023.
