Yes, house in usa are massive. But also expensive to maintain. Texas land is cheap and plenty of land to build house there.

Flat kabhi bhi permanent property nahi hoti.Its land that is more valuable. 6.5 cr wala flat 10/15 saal baad koi nahi lega.. Logo ko new flats pasand aate hai.

What interest rate are prevalent these days for yet to be immigrants? Earlier decade people paid almost zero interest and hence puchasing house made sense for both living and investing purpose. How easy is it to rent such houses incase one may need to move away. Some people who did r2i are stuck with huge suburbian houses and no rental income specially in west coast. East coast is different.too much demand & very limited inventory.

Cheap interest rate also 1% to 2% made house very expensive and speculative market. In california, if you want to remodel a kitchen then it is average 20k to 30k.

I think every one know that young couple do not have 600 to 700 thousand dollars. Normally 20% down, this is good area, otherwise you can house in Texas around 200k to 250k.
