It is not true. If you have any employment gap, you have to explain during interview. Also, 2 weeks notice is required, if you do not give 2 weeks notice, they will never re-hire you. I have worked in the United States for 40 years.

I worked in some companies in India. In India I have some people wasting lot of time during prime working hours and then do some work after most people leave after work hours to make a show that the person is hard working.

A lot of half information or misinformation, but my top three :) 1) In India people may clock more hours but the amount of time spent on doing actual work is almost equal if not less than 8 hours. Rest of time is spent on socializing, 2 - 3 tea/coffee break, walking after lunch, and whatnot. And that's the best part, its like being in college again :) 2) In vast majority of companies in India, there is no trend of saying sir or mam and no on really minds it. 3) A freshman in USA is far more capable and hence he earns high salary, in India also if you have knowledge and experience you can earn far more than 3 - 4 lacs.

It's some area I understand and support you but you don't know USA. There is a lot of laws company can make you work. You have a salary and only certain hours you can work. There is AI t people I know. They already worked 10 hours a day. In USA alsometimes, they put 12 hours. But By salary manager salary or other high position, if you are getting based on your contract, you can only work certain hours because government has made the rules in regulation, so workers cannot be abused. You have to talk, people get these out of laws in USA otherwise you are giving them a wrong information that you don't have. You work on a project as long as project is done in certain level. If you're working in Saturday area that you have to check files or you are a gesture. You are fine as long as everything done by deadline, you're good. India india. I don't know, so I'm not gonna comment, but I'm hearing all of you what you're saying. Then why it is like this? Then you have to ask government to step in and make a rules and regulation on that. Have you check on Japan, Japanese? How many hours they Work You don't know that they work 16 to 18 hours a day and so many jobs. In USA manager position, the salary is based on 55 to 60 hours a week.

Biggest issue is some desi make the western work culture very toxic

Dollar is dollar in US. Rupee is rupee in India dollar minimum rupee is rupee in India. If u transfer money to India dollar 83 . Other wise u spend in dollar in US.

Well, in usa there are companies where supervisors who will bring in their relatives and hire friends to work for them. That creates a company culture and newly hired person may not be able to fit in that environment. Yes, usa similar culture and depends on where you work.

Well it depends on location and persons experience. Unless it's California, NY, Seattle etc. this is the typical range for a fresher. Also this is mentioned in USD annual income.

She is wrong od buttering in work place in usa. There is buttering in usa also, may be she has a not seen that or she has not been in usa long enough. There is buttering and harresment also at work place in usa, that is why new hired people in usa have go thru training depending on company and nature of business. Some company in usa have handbook on ethics and conduct.

One work difference let me add. Here in India we work as slave but I am pretty sure that won't be the culture there.Boss are like here in Spl in Chd area. Ma tere ko paise deta hu ab tere ko ma jaleel kruga

Madam you are in very low level post I think -- and hence you are talking like this -- As you go up you will feel the heat -- You are loaded with un precedented responsibility and you have to bring that business to the company -otherwise quit the company -- HIRE and FIRE is too much because of this culture -- If you are unable to deliver the result -- You are out -- No one will help you -- Hence every one is putting very low level targets which they can achieve .. This led to transfer of too many jobs to India as holding back in that country is costly .. This week end TGIF culture is simply not Indian culture -- What happens on Saturday and Sunday -- Is world is coming to a halt ?. This is mostly to boost their ego only - World is changing -- No longer that luxury of Weekend will be there going forward --
