that last song is totally mind blowing r u kidding me
His voice has a natural vibrato that puts him in a different league as a vocalist. So talented
This has been my favourite album for a few years now.

It was a great record. Super sophisticated. Very ahead of the time.
He is quite charming with that natural nervousness in his singing voice..... the rawness is very touching
Ive felt so dispassionate for a long time now. Its not apathy. Its really- more or less - a numb hollowed out feeling. But the moment the music began, i teared up. A mixture if relief, grief, loss, hope, sensuality, love.....My heart has been stirred.... And i am reminded of someone very dear. ❤

You must not let the mistakes and loves gone lost get to you. You must not let anyone create a hole inside you. It will inevitably happen, but with training in the Buddha dharma it will happen much much less. The sadness of attachment will not lead to the pangs of suffering. If you hurt and are numbed inside, commit 300% like it was yesterday to find your nearest homeless shelter and go in and volunteer to cook them dinner and serve them as often as possible. If you give others the causes of well-being, and be friend them, the causes of well-being will follow in your own life, but you must make choices that are wise and noble and wholesome, or suffering will follow you no matter how far you travel, just as the shadow follows the bird who flies.

happened to me too but with his new single, "purple land", i envisioned someone in the past, now, and the future, and just wanted to sing to her
This album gives me nostalgia for things I've never experienced...Love it! ♥

sometimes an album comes along that kind of marks a chapter of your life along with it, like you recall that year so and so, as the year of this or that album. This album does that for me. It has a rawness, spontaneity, yet don't be fooled, all of it is measured, organised, planned, planned in a way that tries to recapture an initial energy that was real to begin with, or from where it originated from. Well done, Mr Damon McMahon. beautiful album, and of course capturing themes so dear to him, so real, too real, for him, and he was generous to share it with us.
Still can't get over the fact John Richards didn't bat an eyelid at Damon saying he never listens to music (ever). Strangest thing ever.

very true. he might've been prepared though, he said that several times in interviews before. i find it very very hard to believe though, especially being a musician.
It is indeed the best album of the year

This is a monumental band and album.
how is the interviewer just going to blow by the fact that he said he doesn't listen to music ever ??
i always come back because the record is amazing but this live sesh is even better.
Been WAITING for this since August. God this record is amazing.
I've been waiting for this! I love Amen Dunes

August 2019 and I can't get over how great this guy is, beautiful music.
Lovely performance! Easily my favorite record of the year... The 3 singles being some of the best music I've heard in a decade (Miki Dora on repeat ferever, it seems). Well done, Damon and co! Bonus points for the Thrill Kill Kult t-shirt.... ;)
Saw them at Motorco in Durham live last night.......they were awesome.
I love this record but his last one Love is an absolute masterpiece. Great live set. Thanks KEXP

Heard Blue Rose on Six Music months ago..Really liked it and then it got lost somewhere in the dank recesses of my brain. Have just clicked on this set immediately recognising their name..Beautiful. Thankyou Six and Kexp. You both make a cynical world a brighter sounding place!!!

Just rediscovered him after the recesses of my little brain archiving him accidentally for five years. Joy illuminated every vestige of my being as I clicked on the first few minutes of this set again. Helped me also emotionally cope with the recent loss of our beloved 19 year old maine coon cat Sidney. Thankyou as always to the power of music to emotionally heal the human condition sometimes in the best and equally worst of life's daily potholes.😂
blue rose is a great night drive windows down tune
🖤
Maybe the greatest album of 2018
bass on point
Shout outs to Panoram! The man makes amazing music!
I like these better than the album. Love that bass line, wow.

I was surprised to see him leave Sacred Bones, but glad to see him land at SubPop. Anyone know when the new LP's going to drop?

I've known quite a few musicians that don't listen to music. Surprised me when I first heard that as well. They're too busy actually making music. Plus if you don't listen to other people's music you're more likely to be more original. I know he spends time reading a lot.

You're a sad and miserable human.
Has a bit of a Gordon Downie vibe - not the band - the singer.

I know many people have commented on this but the mixing here kinda ruined his vocals. Wasted what was probably an amazing performance by poor audio engineering. Album of this year for me because I'm two years late on discovering this dude ha! Still enjoyed it
somehow the recording sounds too clean, needs a bit of atmo. throw a little reverb on those vocals!!!! :)
