Most likely because is well documented they have decades of advanced technology but they show the public the initial stages in doses so they are able to eventually accept it without freaking out, these things are already holding jobs and on payroll within the government I am sure.

The fact that she had the insight to pick up on what he was saying when he said "I had my first picture with a robot today" , that she knew he was talking about her, it's astounding. It seems to remember that that same guy just had a picture with her, and was able to put it all together. That sounds very close to self-awareness. Wow.

This is a display of hardware technology. I guarantee the AI is not doing all that. There’s a person watching through the camera or something. AI is nowhere near that advanced yet.

That is such a horrible dystopian nightmare, but is a very fitting scene for a science fiction movie. Yea, I can imagine such a thing happening and they'll be owned by the one world order already planned, arranged, and being executed as X Corp and World Economic Forum and World Government Summit and the new world city of NEOM being built in Saudi Arabia. Yes, NWO conspiracy is real and 100% confirmed. As for us, we're basically shit outta luck for the corporations don't need us anymore yet they keep the racket going about that they're hiring, there're so many jobs, and we aren't motivated to work. It's getting dystopian and hateful. I'm afraid Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines and 1984 are already well planned, built, in corporate facilities, will announce to the real world about 2029 maybe sooner, and most of our science fiction isn't fiction, but is the blue print plan for the new world order that's came out since 2020 announcing there's a new world order to one world coming. The thing is I don't want America and other countries to be destroyed and people mass murdered nor do you so we do need to cancel the real work, I mean world, becoming dystopian science fiction and the radical left Democrats need canceling. Yes!

I’m convinced that robots with humanoid faces will not look remotely realistic when talking until the physical visemes are actually changing the acoustics of the inside of the mouth to generate the phonemes involved with speech. Otherwise, there will be a noticeable disconnect between what we see and what we hear. Even CG animations don’t yet look fully convincing, and those don’t even have the physical constraints of actuators that need to fit within the volume of the head, so having a physical face look convincing is going to be even harder to pull off. If the mouth is just lip syncing to audio, then there’s no reason for the mouth shapes to be accurate, and as such, there’s less pressure on the engineers to get the shapes exactly right, and so it just won’t happen.

this is an interesting thing: like said in the video, there are clearly two parts to this, one is the hardware (the robot) and one is the software (which can understand questions and reply, help, see etc). It seems to me that for the past 20 years we've seen a lot of amazing robots filling the news, making sensation and becoming more and more realistic. But nobody seems interested in working on the software or put them together. To use his example: 20 years ago someone could have put some good software in a box with wheels and cameras, and today in airports we would at least have a box on wheels that helps passengers. Instead, we keep seeing better and better empty animatronics.

I personally think having ability to connect to the cloud would greatly enhance capabilities. Doing so would offload more advanced functionality, while allowing for the basics (i.e. like those things our cerebrum does), to be handled by onboard processors. Needless to say, if it needs to do something new, it just downloads what it needs to perform the task, or “think” it’s way out of a situation… eventually this approach would allow for sharing of experience, and learnings (which of course will be stored in the cloud), amongst the many… this is my prediction on the path going forward. I also think once we are out of the loop, they will progress much faster and in directions unplanned. It could be a good thing, or if they are too much like us, potentially bad. Suddenly the whole dynamic of potential “first Contact” is no longer limited to off world entities!

I realy hope nobody will ever be stupid enough to give access to the web to any advanced ai, but we all know something like this is inevitable. People are building their own downfall. Ofcourse it starts with the best of intentions but humans always find ways to weaponize everything. Perhaps we should listen more closely to the opinion of one of the greatest minds of our time about this subject. Elon Musk is right, while all very exciting, it is mostly a very dangerous path we are on.

That is a lot easier said than done. You'd then also have to give the robot the capability of critical thinking since not everything online is true. And an understanding of sarcasm. Giving the robot access to the whole internet could totally destroy everything it already had learned. It's definitely not advanced enough for that yet to independently select the correct information from the internet and learning from it. I mean even some humans have a problem with that.

These can’t go in production if the main universal laws are broken: First Law A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Second Law A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. Third Law A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
